Random, but is this a Sims song?

Apologies for the randomness of this, but I watched this video on BBC earlier about a pensioner being reunited with his lost cat and the soundtrack to it sounded so familiar. I feel like it's a piece used in one of the Sims games, but a quick sleuth through Sims soundtracks online didn't reveal anything. Am I going crazy? Is this a sims track?? And if it is, how weird is that!

    Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light;
I have loved the stars too truly to be fearful of the night.

That's what I thought too! That it came from Sims 3. The more I played it, the more convinced I was.

I wonder if they've made that soundtrack available for commercial use or whether the BBC are using it illegally (which I doubt). So weird!

Yes! The Sims 3. I'm pretty sure it was played in build mode

YES! It's from Sims 3! I think that's the music you hear when you're in the map. It's been a while since I've played, but I know for sure that it's from Sims 3!

    Here it is:

Nice find! I clearly didn't sleuth carefully enough. How strange!!

Not the first time a british broadcasting tv station is playing computer game music. the last race of the BTCC in 2019 on ITV4 had the COD MW2 opening theme music track playing as the cars went on their way on the formation lap and then i heard it in the background. I couldn't believe what i was hearing at first, but a few seconds later i realised it was that.

Seems some computer games soundtracks get around well enough. i was surprised by that as well as what i'm reading here as well.

Yes, there's a commercial for 23 and me that uses the sims 3 music also.

@CAF84 Sticking to randomness. England should use this old game song as the nation anthem...

I have come across several tv shows and commercials here in the US that used Sims music. So much so that my kids recognize it too. They've even argued which iteration of the franchise the music came from. They don't play Sims. The most recent (like someone else said) was the build music from TS3 in the 23 & Me commercial.

That sounds very much like the background music from build-mode in Sims3. You know when the camera pans the world you've entered.

At least it's not the "Day after day after day after day after DAY AFTER DAY AFTER DAY..." tune from Sims 4 in build-mode. Heh heh!
I'm in build mode alot so yeah... That's what the tune sounds like to me. Today I'm doing a complete overhaul on the Pancakes house.

Unless you need the background noise, turn down the volume. Maybe play your own music while you work. LOL

    I meant that as a joke. ;)
The "Day after day after day" song. I like it as a background music rather than dull nothing.
