I've been playing on the digitized copy for the past month I guess it is. Today I got the notice my time had expired and I needed to renew my membership (I never subscribed) or purchase a copy of the game. ??? I was told I had to upload this copy because EA was no longer supporting something or other. I have a 64-bit computer so I shrugged and downloaded it anyway. Well, in my library there was my original Limited Edition of the Sims4. Yay, all is not lost. Not only that, but I caught a glimpse of the scene just over the roof line of my lot. It's amazing and much better than what I have been looking at. Yes, it's winter in my game save, but the trees are positively glistening like I've never seen them since I got Seasons. I'll take this copy over the 'digitized' one any day of the week. If I think about it, I'll snap a photo to share.

I had the same thing happen. I didn't approve of or do anything with that free month of origin access, but on the 21st I got the notice that I had to renew my membership to basic or buy the game. Considering I've had the game since release day, I was not too happy with that message.
I got on chat with EA and after an hour and a half, me tracking down two emails (one to prove I purchased the base game and then one to prove I purchased the digital deluxe upgrade) they finally gave me back my base game and deluxe upgrade.
I wasn't told anything was no longer supported, I didn't even have to redownload anything.
What I may have mixed up in my original post was a need to upload the Legacy edition. But I do know that one day it wouldn't let me play unless I downloaded that Digitized version. Huh. Oh, well.
Thank you for your responses.
