A question about vaults.

My elder just deposited money in a vault. It says his name when moused over.
My question is, do the other household members have access to the money inside and if not what will happen when he dies. Do I need to unlock it with him so they can get to it, or will they have trouble getting to it?

Anyone with a high enough handiness skill can break into a vault successfully. I have no idea if when a Sim dies the vault is then magically unlocked, but if it isn’t, no worries, just find someone to break into it.
