NHIE got so drunk I had to get my stomach pumped
When a person has alcohol poisoning severe enough to present a stomach-pumping scenario, their body takes care of that part for them MOST of the time. If it doesn't, and they had enough to lose their eyesight and/or consciousness, they're in danger for their lives and that would be a pumping/hospitalization scenario if you could get an ambulance in fast enough to matter. Stunt drinking with encouragement from others of exceptionally strong spirits is a real problem in some circles. My one experience with losing my eyesight shortly before passing out in my own vomit was enough. Luckily I wasn't alone, and someone noticed.
So, stomach wasn't pumped because it did the job on its own, after I was unable to see or even crawl. But it was deadly dangerous, stupid, and disgusting beyond belief, and I'm glad that dare-drinking and behavior like that, is falling out of vogue.
