Is There a Graduation Ceremony?

«1
I've just had my very first Sims finish their last term at university. Is there a graduation ceremony to follow on the next day? Or will they simply be moved out?

Please, and thank you, in advance.

No graduation ceremony and there is no option to throw a graduation party. They just throw the hats at the door of uni and that's it. :\

Technically there is a ceremony, WE just aren’t invited to go :( We can meet our sims afterwards for the hat toss (which I missed because I didn’t know where the front door was 😭)

Incorrect. There is a graduation ceremony.
You get a degree and a photo of your sim in a gown holding their degree as well.

Bummer. You'd think at the very least there'd be the option to throw a party like there was before.

There it but it is a rabbithole. Which is fine but I hate that we can not invite our sims' family to attend like we could in TS3 :(

I still go there, even if we can't go inside with our sim. It's nice seeing them group up with other graduates before entering, all wearing their graduation attire. Afterwards they still wear their robes, and you can go to a community lot to celebrate if you like. My sims still wore their robe when returning back to their hometown, so you might even throw a party there, but there's no set up / "throw grad party" event offered by the game. But hey, it's not that hard to gather a few friends at home or on town. I never bothered though, playing rotationally it's actually a "phew done" when they graduate, rather wanna go on playing other events.

Oh yeah you're right, this must be photo shop.

You can be unhappy about it being a rabbit hole all you want, but the fact is there IS one and you get rewards from it. I wish there was an actual graduation party you could throw, but the OP specifically asked if there's a ceremony or will her sims just get kicked out, and there IS an optional ceremony.

But by your logic, there weren't hospitals or movie theaters in the sims 3 either since they were rabbit holes. (By the way, graduation was a rabbit hole in sims 3 as well.)

Yeah, but it is quite a downer.

My sim agrees as you can see.

Luckily, he had his birthday after that, which made up a bit for it.

Movie theatres aren't a rabbit hole in TS3 if you have the store theatre venue. And yes they were also a rabbit hole in TS3, however TS4 is a sequel and it wouldn't be asking much for the option to actually throw a post-graduation party/ceremony, especially since they could have used the same animation/coding used in the award delivery in Get Famous. TS4's Uni also has a lot less activities outside classes when compared to TS3 University Life so that would have been great to have, but they just took the lazy route instead.

I mean given the low number of sims graduating with yours, a real event would look lifeless.

There were only 6 sims, including mine, throwing hats in the air in my game.

It's still a ceremony. Just a rabbit hole one. But the graduates show up early to huddle and talk excitedly about the graduation. They throw the caps afterward and you receive the grad. photo and diploma. There's also an interaction on the diploma to talk about your college experience. I think it's an extremely well done, satisying graduation despite being 'just a rabbit hole.' My only gripe is that I don't see a way to invite friends and family.

ETA: It's clear that you haven't played the pack yourself, but at least try not to spread false information about it.

That would have been cool to add the part of family attending graduation. I mean I guess you could throw a party but there isn't even a option to have a graduation party.

I usually just throw a house party or restaurant party while my sim is still in the gown. But I feel like there has to be a way to get family into the ceremony. I don't recall if the Guru's confirmed it's not possible? I've tried inviting family over right before the ceremony, but too late I realized they were in the quad playing juice pong, lol.

My Sims were able to throw a party the night before. They managed to get a Gold Award for it, too. My Cantrells really know how to get their party on. LOL

My principal forbade us to throw our caps at my high school graduation. The poop. He all but ruined the day I had worked so hard for. Oi!

Hey, that works for me. I'm more concerned because I know they'll have to leave the Dorm pretty soon, either way and their younger sister is still in the hands of her kidnappers. :open_mouth:

Yes, there is. Right after they get their grades and the pop-up says they're graduating the next day, it also invites you to throw a party. I went into the Events calendar and there's a graduation party available. I quickly set it up and my guys had a rocking, roaring time. Got a Gold Award out of it.

Not all students are on the same track as the Sims you control. I may only have the three brothers. I'll have to wait and see.

You may not have the option to throw a Post-Graduation party, but you're invited to throw one the night before the graduation. I took the option and my Sims despite being terrified for their younger sister's well-being, had a blockbuster of a party. :)

Hmm? I've had multiple graduations and never saw anything like this. There's a new party for graduations?

I know a lot if you don't play supernaterals, but for those that do, be very careful about letting a vampire attend graduation. My dude almost died because the game considered him as outside the whole time. So he would have burned up if I hadn't clicked on the mailbox and cheated his needs.

Yeah, and the game also considers vampires outside when they're giving presentations. I had to act fast repeatedly to prevent Vlad from frying. (And he's thin-skinned, too.) Basically, I'd quick travel to a dorm or different lot immediately after he emerged. That was the most stressful diploma to acquire yet, lol.
