Hello,
Um, this post was last posted five days ago? Is that considered a old post? Am I 'necroposting'?
I have found this forum in particular to be helpful and kind though.
I hope i'm not being a nucence.
Thank you.
Hello @LimpNoodleLimbs
Necroposting is when you post on a thread that is over a year old. This thread is very current and it is great for new members to post on it
Happy simming!
Hello @lydam
I will post here what I posted on the other thread.
Carl's Sims 4 site is a very helpful site with many guides to playing the game. There is a " guides" button at the top of the site page, which will take you to a list of a variety of helpful guides to the game. http://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com
I'm recently new to this and it's understandable for them to have a setup like this, but it is a bit stressful whenever you need an immediate answer on a question you can't ask yet.

Wow thank you so much for posting this! I have been playing the sims for sometime now, but just now decided to get involved on the online forums and activities. This is a lot of help. I just hope my username changes soon, I requested the change because I want all of my usernames to be the same, so fingers crossed it happens shortly! Thank you again
kinda sucks not being able to have a profile pic, literally any forum gives you that ability fairly immediately. Feel a bit naked without one. All the other stuff i dont really care about tbh so don't mind over all. I guess im without an identity before I make like 1000 comments or whatever.. makes sense... lol :#
Hi - I would like to ask a specific question about the sims, but I can’t make my own topic. Is there any threads for help with the game itself? I play on PS4 but I assume the answer will be the same on any version.

You need to have 25points and 15 posts before you can become a full member and can then change your profile picture , post pictures, have a signature, start new threads, edit posts , post links that show up correctly, and have quotes appear in grey boxes ,This thread explain about it. http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/934205/small-change-for-new-members#latest
You receive a point each time another simmer presses like or awesome or insightful on a post that you have posted in a thread created by another simmer.
This thread has been really nice to go through! I think I'm nearing the right limit to be a member, if I am understanding correctly. I have been playing Sims for years now, but I just started really jumping on the forums. I wanted to be able to see what's going on, share what I've been doing, and congratulate other simmers on their amazingness as well! I'm glad I came across this thread. Thanks!

Hi there! Does it take long to update to a member once you've reached the Point/Post minimum required? Really want to start messing around with my signature

Hello @cgavilanes
Try logging out of the site then logging back in again and see if that shows you as a full member

soo basically you're saying people who lurk shouldn't be allowed to have an opinion?? I've had this account for 5 years (been playing since 2012) but I never started actually participating in the community until wayy later

@KAYLANDA, you just need 2 more posts to make and you will become a full member...
This is dumb... I just wan't to ask a question. Seems like an odd way to reduce spam... I need to comment and interact pointlessly when I could just be asking my question. Seems counterproductive to me. Wasted my time setting up an account.
I think I would keep this thread to a bookmark. It is important.
24 hour Sims Challenge.
1. Day 1. Create a replica of your home and you and those who live there.
2. Day 2. Keep note of everything that your Sim does.
3. Day 3. Do everything that your Sim has done.
It says that I need to have 25 points. I only have 15.

I meet all the new criteria (https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/934205/small-change-for-new-members#latest), but still it says new member. Why?
