Do you have Laundry Day installed? If yes, will roommates generate laundry and will they do their laundry autonomously? Can dryers be placed in university housings or not, since they are fire hazards just like stoves and grills?

I want to know the answers to these as well.

I'm not sure if you've hit a holiday yet, but if we have seasons installed, and there's a holiday where people have a day off from work/school, does that include university classes? Or do students have to go to uni classes?

Thank you for taking questions. What’s the difference between administrator branch and professor branch of the education career? I know it’s rabbit hole career but would like to imagine my sim teaches kids...would that be the Professor branch?

    - What happens with memberships in student organisations at the end of term and at graduation? Will sims be kicked out automatically? Will it be grayed out until they start the next semester?

At the end of term I immediately rejoined, so didn't see what happened in between, sorry. When I re-enrolled thoughI was still in the 2 orgs I have joined (Braniacs and Bot Savants) and still had the progress from my first term.

    - Are sims allowed to join any organisation, or just those affiliated with their own university?

I went to the Debate Event at Britchester, but the "Ask to join <Org Name>" option wasn't avialable in the contect menu (or anywhere else in chat wheel) like it was for the Foxbury Institute orgs. Going to have to assume we can only join the ones affiliated to our uni, but you can still visit the events.

    - Can they join more than one student organisation?

Yes. I've joined 2 so far, but not sure if I have the time to try joining more.

    - What I am particularly interested in is the secret society. Just in case someone wants to discover it by themselves, I will ask in a spoiler.
Will my sim still be able to use the power to call sprites after they graduated?
I haven't actually discovered the Secret Society yet, nor have I graduated (just enrolled for second term). If I do both, I'll let you know.

No new collections. There are new spare parts found when scavenging trash, which are used in robot construction.

I turned on bb.editfreebuild and added in laundry items. I put a hamper in each dorm room and 2 near the showers. Added a stacked washer/dryer to bathrooms without issue and put a wash tub and washing line on the balcony.

My sim immediately tried upgrading the washer (maxed Handiness aspiration), so that is possible. I then had her change clothes in various places in the dorms. Laundry was generated and went into whichever hamper was nearest.

Will have to wait an see if anyone does it autonomously. I know I have a Slob housemate, but don't know about a Neat one.

How does paying loans back after graduation work? Do you have to pay back everything at once or will you get billed regularly?

Any family moments? Do your parents call you at university, does your mother have a sad moodlet because you‘re leaving, etc.?

I started in the Autumn (because that's when we start uni here and have had Harvestfest so far (which I remember being busy, but forgot to check if I had actual classes... Today is Winterfest in my game and I have classes scheduled for 9 am, 3 pm and esports in the evening... So no holidays off, by the looks of it.

I've asked if this is an oversight, but it might just be to keep degrees on schedule.

I haven't had to take out loans (yet) because I applied with a highly skilled sim and got a full ride on scholarships. However, GCs had a Q&A with the SimGuru/Maxis studio before early access and were told the answer to this there.

You don't have to start paying loans until after you graduate. Once you do, you will have a minimum payment due. You will get a couple of warnings that a payment is due. If you don't pay after a couple of warnings the repo-sim will arrive and take an item that closest matches the minimum payment that you owe. If you make your next payment, the repo-sim won't return, however the repo-sim will return and take another item for every payment you miss until the value of the loan plus interest is recovered.

My test sim didn't have any family so I couldn't test this. I think @Cinderellimouse's mum came to visit her dorms though. You can also visit sims, call sims and invite sims over whenever you want. You have the option to give sims a key to your apartment (dorm) and they will use that random visit system. You will also see visitors arriving at your dorm/housing for roommates - These have titles over their name like "Roommate's Friend" or "Roommate's Girlfriend"

The challenge. University is hard. I think I bit off more than I could chew by taking 3 classes + 1 elective my first term (this or 4 classes + no elective is max amount, and you need to pass 12 classes to graduate).

Somehow I managed to fail a class even though my sim is already maxed in the class skill (Handiness) and I did most of the homework (or so I thought). Maybe you have to perform consistantly better for Distinguished Degrees? I don't know.

There is definitely a lot of time management involved. I haven't even socialised much, and have missed half of the organisation meetups. I'm thinking it'll be easier in long lifespan or aging off, because you can take your time and do less classes each term, but on Normal you'll be an adult (or within a few days of adult birthday) at graduation and that's when doing it as fast as possible.

Sorry, I missed your question earlier.

Clubs count as affiliations, so you can either set for No Affiliation, a Uni Org, or a Club, but not both. You can make a sorority or fraternity this way by making the club and setting the house affiliation to club members only. Remember to make the club invite only though, so you have to impress the current members to be invited.

The careers (and the extra-curriculars) are all Work from Home style careers (like the ones in City Living). Teacher (which I assume can be anything from grade/primary school, to high/secondary school) is level 3 - This is before the career branches. Getting a degree will skip past this level.

1- Are NPCs in university actually students? I mean, do they go to class? Can you ask them what is their degree?

2- When the term ends, do your sim have to go back home and re-enroll, or can they re-enroll from campus?

3- If a sim lives with their parents and split household to go to Uni, is it possible that his mom will show up as a university student or a roommate?

4- Do seasons holidays influence classes/exams?

5- Do servos autonomously clean the house and fix broken things, or are they just normal sims? Why would they be called servos if they don't serve?

Could you pretty please see if you delete someone from your household do they turn into an NPC and stay on as a roommate? For the university housing dorm lots?

1- Are NPCs in university actually students? I mean, do they go to class? Can you ask them what is their degree?

Some NPCs on campus might just be visitors, some are faculty staff, but all NPCs living in dorms/uni housing are students. Yes, you can ask them about their degree.

2- When the term ends, do your sim have to go back home and re-enroll, or can they re-enroll from campus?

You can re-enrol immediately and do not have to leave campus.

3- If a sim lives with their parents and split household to go to Uni, is it possible that his mom will show up as a university student or a roommate?

Mum won't show up as a roommate for 2 reasons:
    • She's still considered played, unless you unmarked her as so in manage households.
    • She's housed in the world.

Only single (no spouse/kids) sims who are unhoused (Currently not in world) sims can spawn as roommates.

4- Do seasons holidays influence classes/exams?

Not that I've noticed so far, but that might be to keep degrees on track. On Winterfest I had 2 classes and an extra-curricular activity to attend.

5- Do servos autonomously clean the house and fix broken things, or are they just normal sims? Why would they be called servos if they don't serve?

I haven't lived with a Servo yet, so can't tell you, but it likely depends on their traits. They have 3 traits the same as sims. There are lower level basic Utili-Bots that clean, garden etc. though.

Question for seasons/discover university - you are in uni and there is a holiday in which 'day off work/school is set on, will they still go class or that applies for university also?

Another one - are you able to pause university between terms maybe and then go back and continue where you were?
  • EmmaVaneEmmaVane Posts: 7,847 Member
    @Vanesa1118
You can take time off between terms, however, I'm not sure how this works with regards to housing.

    @AquaGamer1212

I started a new save to test this. Takes a few in game days to get to the moving to uni point.

Ready to move there now so need an answer to these questions...

When you say "delete from household" do you actually mean "split from household?"

    And...

I assume you mean when you move into dorms and realise you merged households?
