...have a perfectly good desk in their completely accessible bedroom (seriously, I remembered the door this time!), but they choose to do their homework at someone else's desk instead. Even though that requires them to walk all the way to the other side of the house. And it's a 40x30 lot. Most of which is taken up by the house, with only a tiny amount of back/front yard space left over, so they end up walking 30+ tiles for no logical reason.

...when they insist on going up another floor in the house for something there even though I wanted them to stay on the floor they were on; I never knew it would become such a problem when I started living in multi-floor houses more often.

This is why I prefer single-level houses. Only had a multi-level once. Never again.

Without fail whenever a sim gets in a playful mood on Winterfest they will add a prank present to the pile of presents. Even if they live alone. They are pranking themselves? Seems like they could have put more thought into it.

I think that's funny, myself. I've had brothers prank each other and their reaction to the 'pile of poo' gift is quite comical. Note that I have four teenagers in one household. Three boys and a girl. She got the prank gift once. Her expression was priceless. Wish I'd thought to snap a picture.

Sure, it was funny once but then it happens every single winterfest and it quickly loses its charm.

Anyway here's another one - Lighting the fireplace during a heat wave. Sims are just not smart.

I hear you there. LOL And I'll raise you that EA also told us our Sims would be smarter, better AI in Sims 3, which of course they weren't. How many times, EA, how many times? :p

I can understand the first one cause sleep deprivation makes you crazy, but what's the last one's excuse?

Oof, nothing makes my blood boil like a sim walking from one side of their massive house to the other side and still doing the thing I cancelled.

I have managed to get the 'No Excuse' award a few times. Yes, I've had to reset my game. They live in a mansion. There is a bathroom on the first floor. I send the Sim, who is having trouble holding it, to tend to that need. Yet, they still walk silly with their knees held together and do anything but that which is in their queue, particularly ignoring their ever-bloating bladder! Another moment of frustration and humiliation, to boot. :open_mouth:

... when they get their leftovers out of the fridge and stand there to eat it, right beside a perfectly good table and chair set. Then when finished, since they are in a kitchen and right beside a sink (and sometimes dishwasher), take their dirty plate either clear across the house to put it down or go all the way to the furthest bathroom upstairs to wash it. Waste some more time please!

When they do autonomous actions with NO autonomy selected.

Me talking to my Sim (screen):

HEY! Nobody told you to passionate kiss Simeon, what the...?

Tsk, I didn't tell you to keep talking to that visiting Sim and especially didn't tell you to 'imply Mother is a Llama.'

Wait, wait, STOP! I canceled 'bake chocolate cake.' I know you have a sweettooth, I can relate but sheesh!

Do what I say and nothing more! If there's nothing in your queue, just stand there like a good little Sim until I tell you to do something, mkay? Get it? Got it? Good! (I know you don't got it though) *sigh*

Either that, or they just walk off mid conversation to do something else before you have a chance to queue up more socials for them.

The sitting down together, standing up, down, up, etc. makes me rageflail. I want to fix this with a mod but the only one I can find is the Musical Chairs mod which also removes group chat. But I like group chat on most occasions, so I wish I could handle that separately or just X them out of the little window that comes up on the top of the screen.

This really annoys me when other sims visit. "Oh, hey. Come on in. I'm gonna go talk to my plants now because you're really boring." :D

    Sims are rude.

I now fence my garden off and add a gate. I usually keep it locked for everyone unless I need the sim to tend the garden.

What gets to me is when the Welcome Wagon appears at the doorstep. I send, most often the mother or the father to greet their new neighbors. I even select Invite In. Rarely anymore do the invited guests come in. They appear to prefer the front porch to chat up the new neighbor over going inside. What is up with that?

Try making sure all conversation has stopped then click invite in. I've had similar issues where they would stand there and talk as well. Also, a couple of times they would come in, chat for a few minutes then the "Maybe next time" message would pop up and they'd leave. :/

when their energy is red & started walking slowly towards the bed, managed to change their clothes and get in the bed, but later on, they woke up just to plop to the floor to sleep.

When they do the dish washing in the bathroom sink.
When you instruct them to fill out reports or write a book and they wander off to "browse books"
...and when they leave books lying around all over the place.
Abandoning whatever it is you command them to do to fetch a glass of water....and then never finishing drinking that water.

So many are talking about these endless glasses of water their Sims are forever seeking. I've rarely even seen that in my game. :open_mouth: I do recall seeing Erik snag a glass of water once, but it was a hot summer day, too. :/

With them specifically browsing other books leads me to think they were seeking ways to plagiarizer! :open_mouth:

It's a recurring bug. Now and then sims get stuck in a drinking water loop. They will just drink one glass after another. The only solution to fixing it that I've found is to just play another household for a day.
