My big worry with the lack of Simgurus leaking information.

Am I the only one that thinks they could not have a sims camp and instead, put that huge amount of money into the actual pack to make it better? Isn't one of their go-to excuses is that they can't afford it? There's only so much in the budget? Stop wasting it on Sims Camp and put it into the pack itself.
@Dannydanbo Sims Camp more than likely comes out of the marketing budget and not the development budget.

I understand that, but why spend all that money on a lack luster pack when, if you put that money into the pack, it would sell itself.

I'm sure the pack will sell. 👍
Minus the copies you and a few others won't be purchasing.

Oh I'll buy it. I've been waiting five years for UNIbots so even my disappointment in the lack of gameplay won't stop me. The next pack, however, is a WE'LL SEE.

Congrats on your upcoming 100 pages of guru tweets. You've done very well.

Thanks Danny. 🙂 I just thought I saw a comment where you'd decided on Planet Zoo over DU.

And now we know why they were silent for so long. Simguru Frost spilled the beans, the classes are rabbit holes. That means the universities are essentially rabbit holes. So since the Universities are rabbit holes instead of Discover University they should have called it Discover Rabbit Hole. The feature they named it after, what they are trying to sell is a rabbit hole! I would hide too if I was them.

Well that’s a surprise! Said no one ever.

No wonder there’s so many majors, they are rabbit holes. Considering they are all rabbit holes there shouldn’t be so repeated courses.

Sims 2 Uni also had rabbithole classes, and that pack was still good. In Sims 4 we'll have some extracurricular activities at least.
I understand why a lot of people are disappointed, but that doesn't mean there's nothing else to do or that new pack is trash.
Also, I thought it was kinda obvious since the first trailer that we won't get active classes.

What extracurricular activities? Sims 2 had group research I.e group study, sororities and fraternities, Greek houses, secret societies, student jobs and of course partying and socialising.
I’m not seeing much different or new for sims 4.

I see the difference, no Greek system, no student jobs and fewer schools.

    Robotics and debate.
I have my concerns about debates, but robotics sounds fun.
Yeah, everything else look similar to Sims 2, but Sims 2 was okay and I had fun with it.

Maybe student will be able to work part-time or freelance (I hope so). And yes, Sims 2 had 3 schools, but they were all the same.

People seem to forget, you could make YOUR OWN school in Sims 2 - you could use any world template and create as many schools as you liked and send your teens to any of them.
    Allons-y!

---> Afterlife Game Pack Idea - improved ghosts, cemeteries and funerals, psychics, new skills, new career and more! <---
---> Burglary Stuff Pack Idea - Burglars, alarm systems, and diamonds to steal!<---

    That’s true.
I’m going to build my own university for my next heir.

Yeah, that was cool... But it's not only about University, it's a bigger problem of TS4 lacking create-a-world tool.

I'm probably the only one that is glad the classes will be rabbit holes. :D I want things for my sims to do, and I want to watch them do it like everyone else, just not sitting in a desk all day.. Maybe a lab or something could have been fun but that's likely included with extra curricular activities outside class time.

Even though classes are rabbit holes, there are still extracurriculars (debate, robotics, art society, soccer) and projects and presentations for subjects.

All that is a rabbit hole is that you can't follow your Sim to a lecture and watch them take notes or maybe ask a predetermined question or two.
    Personally, I'm good with that.

I like they have so many majors actually. It would have been impossible to make them all into classes. If they were going to do the follow to class thing then it likely would have been just a few and then people would complain that the class they wanted wasn't included on the "follow" list. Maybe one classroom but hidden by a load screen then everyone would complain it was the same room for everyone and a load screen. I'd rather take the selection of majors and cover everything than have just a couple of pre-determined options and an extra load screen.

I don't mind rabbit hole classes if there are enough other things to do. I liked the approach of the sims 2 where you couldn't follow your sims to classes but could watch them studying and have them work on papers.

It all depends on how the entire universityeexperience is handled, classes are supposed to be just a part of getting good grades.

TBH, I don't mind the rabbit hole classes. I don't think that they will spend the whole day in a class (it's either 1/2 hours per class), unlike the school. Perhaps, they even need to take several different classes/subjects per day. The rest of the day, they either meet up with friends, study groups, labs, club activities or going to the pub or to the gym after a long day. However, it is nice if we can have it as an "active activity", if it is possible. I would let my Sims pranking her/his lecturers then get kicked out of the class. :D

I'm happy with rabbit holes, especially if it means I can have sims living in other worlds and pretending they are attending a different campus. I'm planning to turn downtown Windenburg into a student area, where they attend classes in a satellite campus and have their own bar/dorms/etc. in Windenburg they all go to together.

They mentioned doing presentations and such, so I'm guessing it's like work-from-home, but some days you have to go in and then some days you get assignments/etc. you have to do for homework based on your year & major. As long as it feels different to school, that's my only worry is that it is just a reskinned school system. Fingers crossed!

Dude (Don't know if you're a man or not lol) you're so right. I don't care of these game changers if I can get gameplay.

I didn't care for the active careers in GTW, and I can't see how attending a class could possibly be a fun thing to do in a game. Listening to a lecture can be fun or interesting (if you have a good teacher). Watching your Sims listen to a lecture in Simlish would get boring pretty fast. I'd much rather send the Sim into a rabbit hole and play other Sims in the household.
I just want things to match. :'(

I see your point. I don’t mind sims 2 university, in fact I really like it even though it has rabbit holes- but I do like the sims 3 style of some rabbit holes and some lectures are attendable as well as some classes

I agree that if we're getting all rabbitholes, we should've gotten more variety in the amount of classes offered per each college, not just the same classes just flipped between distinguished and not.

Why can’t we even attend one lecture?! Do they assume all college students have extra curricular activity? Also, if they could do teaching as active career, how could they not add ‘attend a lecture as a function??

It's not confirmed as an active career yet is it? I thought it was a rabbit hole.

No career in Discover Rabbit Hole is confirmed to be or not to be a rabbit hole, work from home, freestyle, or an active career. Given the packs main thrust is indeed a rabbit hole I would be shocked if any of the careers are active. Best I would dare to hope for is ether a work from home or freestyle type career. But there has been zero communication on the nature of the new three careers outside they exist in the trailer.
