So I find it really irritating how my inactive sims are constantly gaining memories when I'm not playing on them. Their scrapbooks get clogged with all sorts of useless things like "went to the park" eight million times. I like memories, and for significant milestones in my sims, I lke them to be recorded. However, will disabling memories turn off memories completely for turn off autonomous memories, meaning the only memories recorded will be ones I personally capture? The reason I'm afraid to try it is because I was also wondering if it will delete existing memories. Help would be appreciated! Thanks.

If you go to www.thesims3.com and log in. Find your Studio. There is a memories tab. If there are any memories you want to keep you can right click the picture and save it to the location you choose. eg. Hard Drive. They are very small images though so you can't do a lot with them. But you will at least still have them.
This might have some useful info for you.

It looks like there is a mod available to manage them too.

I don't know anything about the mod though. I just have my memories disabled.
@Crinrict is always a great source of information on these games. Her blog is an excellent resource.

EDIT: I still have 3 memories saved in my studio. I had to manually delete the other memories to make extra space so I suspect the answer to your question is No, disabling memories doesn't automatically delete the memories you already have in your Studio.

I disabled memories in my game long ago because those floating emoctions ruin everything and auto-generated memories are useless. But the old ones never got deleted on their own.
