I'm sure this question is answered somewhere in the multitude of tutorials in this thread, but I don't know exactly where to look, so if anyone can point me in the right direction I'll be ever so thankful: what if I want to build on a lot that has a family living there that I'm playing, so I don't want to evict them or anything? Is there any way to do this? Or can I evict them and then if I don't save the house (only download to library) will they be put back?

Hello @MikkiMikkiMikkiM
You can go into build mode and still build whilst they are there. The build that you are creating will become their home. When you upload the lot, only the build and not the sims are uploaded..
@rosemow thanks for your response! And then if I save the lot to my library without saving it in the game, the original house will stay unaffected? I just want to know because I love building, but I also like to play, and I know I will run out of uninhabited lots to build on at some point.

If you come out of the game without saving the game, the original lot will not be affected @MikkiMikkiMikkiM
I have a question. Is there a guide to what lots need to stay in the world for gameplay to work properly? I know like to get the award in GF you have to go to a certain lounge. I want to try building a new world from scratch and want to see what I need to keep and what lots I can bulldoze.
Since I'm new to sims, is there any specific sim townies I need to keep as well for proper gameplay?

Hello @VyStarlit :)Welcome to simming!
I don’t think that there is a guide to what lots need to remain there. You would just need to make sure that you have lot venue types that fit in with what you want your sims to do in that world. You may like to start a new thread and ask for the advice of other simmers who have completely made over the world.
You don’t need to keep any specific townies as the game will generate new townies as they are needed to fulfil roles in the game.

You’re welcome I hope your makover of the world goes well.
I am building a home for someone who want's a Spa Room. I don't have that Game Pack, as of yet. Would anyone be kind enough to give me rough dimensions on some of the major items, included in that pack, so I can make sure the room I have framed out will work for my client?

Hello @Taoron The sauna is 3 x 4 grid squares,
The meditation stool requires a space of 2x 2.
The massage table is 1x 3 .
Yoga mat is 2 x 3.
I hope that helps
Guys help pls. I don't usually build but I thought I'd give it a whirl with this loft/greenhouse deal I saw on Lilsimsie's channel but something is happening that is driving me ABSOLUTELY. INSANE. The greenhouse part is a gabled roof with a glass texture on the side of the house, a link if you're curious
Behold:
Without half walls or fencing you can see through the windows as god intended. But as soon as I include half walls so as to deliver on the loft part it does this:
Anyone know what's going on or how to fix it? Looking at the two next to each other the half walls seem to changing something with the wall it connects to but I dunno.
well, Recently i started a youtube channel, and in it I am doing sims 4 related video's from speed build, stop motions, AND TUTORIALS for unique stuff :) so i will post here some tutorials i think you gonna find useful and if you do it will be great if you pin them here :) All of my tutorials are CC free (no custom content are in them)
1) How To create Artificial islands - https://youtu.be/I4rvpaRpd48 2) How to create "Floating islands" (realm of magic pack) - https://youtu.be/HyLLgUeJbUM 3) how to create 3X3 spiral staircases (configurable stairs update) - https://youtu.be/H1sH-VgRssc 4) how to create a fully rounded window (Moschino pack) - https://youtu.be/mbOuXZ6v578 5) how to create a (working) REAL Bridge (1000 items update) - https://youtu.be/_cr8oP3u-h8 6) how to add colors to ceilings - https://youtu.be/AGfW4MyLw0Y
And in general, i am finding a lot of "go around" fixes to building in-game :)

Hey their mate , you made this big window in the wrong way .. i created a version as you show here with a method that will fix it for you , you need to create not a "Solid" roof and apply glass to it , you have to create (like in the picture i added) a roof of 1 wide, and then the by holding "Shift" and dragging 1 side of the extenders...you can stretch it across and put another roof on the other side to close it...
