Your NYC row houses WIP is looking great! @lilleefs Very nice exterior design! The different colours and windows for each of the townhouses looks very nice. Very nice steps up to front entrances with plants in between the stairs.
@rosemow Thankyou so much for the compliments!!
And thankyou very much for the help!!! I was fighting with it for ages and couldn't find those tutorial posts
I'll try to fix it now
Your WIP is looking very nice! @luckyheather Very nice modern exterior design and the roofing looks very great! Very pretty water fountain and rocks feature! It is very nice that that there is a rooftop hot tub garden.
Thank you so much @rosemow and @Taoron I am pleased you like it so far on the outside. I do love a water feature and of course a Hot Tub, I so wish I had one it would be great for my back if I can climb into it! Inside only the kitchen is now done. Im trying to use natural tones inspired by #juwels64 Art
#juwels64 has some very nice art. I use quite a bit of it when I am not using my own or @rosemow art. There are so many talented people in that aspect, it's a hard choice sometimes, on what to use.
I'm no where near as far as you @luckyheather with my build for Blueprint Builds BB1 yet, but it's at least not just a shell anymore. Took me a long time to get it set up so it looked similar to the blueprint. I like how you went modern with it, very cool how everyone has had such a different take on what to do with the given blueprint.
Anyway, here's what I have so far, it's quite bare bones at the moment except a few areas. For instance, the dining room/buffet area is all but finished. Here's a peek:
And the kitchen is pretty much finished, might change some colors here and there, so it needs a bit of tweaking, especially lighting. That big ceiling light is too yellow. I prefer the neutral white for lighting in my builds but can't change that until it's finished and I move a Sim in to playtest the build:
I elected to leave a door off the coat 'closet' so Sims could use the mirror or choose an umbrella if needed:
This is all I have for the living room fireplace area so far, obviously not even remotely finished:
Here's a bird's eye view of the layout from the left side. Just ignore all those willy nilly overhead lights, I always just plop down a bunch so I can see what the heck I'm doing. Not all the beds will be black and white doubles either, they're just placeholders as is most of the other furnishings to help with getting the dimensions as close to the blueprint as possible.
Along with the Master, I'm thinking one of the bedrooms will be for a teen and the other will be for a child or possibly a toddler. I haven't decided yet.
And lastly, this is what it looks like with the walls and ceiling up from the outside. Obviously I haven't even begun to think about landscaping or roofing yet. I'm so glad we have all month to complete this build. For me personally this is a BIG challenge since I normally build much smaller cottages/cabins, etc.
So that's my WIP on this build, not very much done, but I like it so far.
Your WIP is looking great! @Karababy52 Very lovely design, furnishings and colour scheme of the dining room and the kitchen! It looks very nice and stylish how the cabinets and counters have been placed in the kitchen , and the island stools counter and patterned walls are very nice. The open coat, mirror and shoes rack closet looks great!
I hope you will continue to enjoy working on the rest of the build
@Karababy52 your WIP looks gorgeous so far, the kitchen is beautiful and dining room too, love the mirror/shoes nook I was tempted to do a baby or toddler room Its a shame the Toddler indoor and indoor toys dont come in either white or black and white! if only we had a colour wheel.
I look forward to seeing how the rest of your home gets furnished and landscaped
Thank you @luckyheather for your comments, very much appreciated! It's coming along slowly, I've been working on the living room the last couple days. It's almost finished, just having trouble with lamps and curtains/blinds. I'm tempted to get the MFP pack just for the blinds. lol None of the ones I currently have look right to me. The fireplace area is completely different now too. I would LOVE a color wheel, never used one in this game before so it would be a treat for me.
Next up after the living room is the bedrooms/bathrooms. Then I'll tackle the rest after that. So, yea, I have a long, long way to go yet. It's been frustrating, mostly due to my silly perfectionism and desire for color coordination and balance. But I love building, so I deal with it as best I can and hope for the best! Sometimes I wish I did use CC, but from my experience with it in TS2, I know once I go down that rabbit hole, I won't be able to stop! o.O
Thanks again, have a great weekend and Happy Simming!
EDIT: BTW, now that we're getting independent plumbing for showers, I might just have to buy DU when it comes out sooner than I thought if I don't win it in a giveaway. Then I/we can make a proper walk in shower! I'm so excited for that! Just think of all the custom showers we can make now with that pack! Yay! \o/
Today I created a future student Toya who I will be playing in this Student share I started today, the last Screenshot was the inspiration a picture I found today The home sleeps upto 6 sims and it has roof party area and in living room a space for the Robot station....Cant wait!!!
Its on the smallest plot size like some of the student housing.
Your student housing WIP is looking great! @luckyheather Very nice modern exterior design, and it reflects the inspiration build very welll! The modern furnishing, colours and the layout of the interior is very nice!
I will look forward to seeing the finished build
Thanks @Taoron I do love the Foxbury Institute buildings and thanks to watching the live video and looking at google images I found out the size plots used, mainly 20x15 and 30x20 The Town pub is 20x20 and Library 50x40 so I can build for the actual uni or town
I'm doing a Challenge in the Facebook Builder's Group, for a Mountain Home. I can't stop. LOL Really loving it. First time I've attempted a 2 level sunken home. Really a good exercise in terrain and manipulating the environment for me. I'n only about 6 hours in and still have a lot to do.
