This may be personal preference speaking, but I think it'd make more sense to add werewolves, the vintage horror werewolf jock niche just seems like it'd fit in well in a uni pack, and leave the robots to a future themed pack as others have suggested in this thread.
Chill, it's harmless speculation. I personally think it MIGHT be a hint (not a "zomg its ttl confirmation guise. get HYPE", just a POTENTIAL hint) that robots are coming, but unless there's an a Mechanical/Engineering degree and a new Inventor/Engineer career with the University pack, I don't see it coming with THAT pack.
Maybe the robot outfits are the Simgurus' way of hinting that the next pack is not University but the Sims 4 version of Into the Future (where we had robot suits for bot enthusiasts to disguise themselves as pumbots...)

I really disliked robots, so I’m happy if they don’t return at all!
I would rather have robots come as part of some kind of future technology pack.
I wasn't that big into the time travel aspect of Into the Future, but I did love the future technology.
I've loved bots in The Sims since having played with Simbots in TS2.
I would hack mine and turn them into human looking robots and I have been after EA to finally let us make them as the ultimate upgrade in bot building.
Meaghan is my favorite Sims robot.
The first thing I did when we got TS4 ambitions was turn my Simbot into a human looking android.
When we got Into the Future, I upgraded her to be even more awesome.
Unfortunately, as a plumbot, her arms would glitch whenever she picked up a tablet and used it.
I gave up on her being a plumbot and settled for just a boring simbot.
I am hoping TS4 allows us to build robots from simple task bots, up to highly sophisticated and human looking androids.
How do you get them looking human? Is it a mod,or a feature.
I can't see any use for robots and I hated them in sims 3 too..

No experience of robots. Would not want them in my game per se. If they did come with university, I would not not get university (because I'm getting university!). I'm pretty neutral on the matter of robots.
Having said that, I do see them fitting better with a futuristic pack.

I loved Robots in the Sims 3 and wouldn't mind seeing them make a comeback. Whether it would be in this expansion or a different one in the near future.
It's Sims 4, they dont add new life states in expansion lol. It could be cool I guess, but I'd rather they focus on other things with this EP. I hope it won't be as shallow as some of the other EPs ***island living*** ...
I found them to be pointless and I didn't really enjoy them in Sims 3. I would only want them to as a maid or butler. Those NPCs were so buggy the last time I played, I cannot imagine the robot butler being any better.

Well technically they can focus on the University Experience and make building 'Servo's/plumbots' one of the things you can do with a technology major.
Will this happen? Probably not. It's the Sims 4 after all.
I'd like a really good future tech or sci-fi pack to include a variety of robots. I loved building them in Sims 2, so that would be cool to bring back. I don't see it being a thing in University but you never know.

Robots are the only life state I like besides human/pets so I would love them to return in this pack. I just hope they are customizable like in TS3: ITF.
Robots as a life state? Doubt it, I think they’ll just be an object like mentioned in the leak. Maybe they’ll be servants or maids. But I don’t think we’ll be able to control them.

Cheat code voodoo and CAS gymnastics.
Basically edit in CAS with the mastercontroller mod.
