Please fix the apartments system. I thought that the city living expansion would have expanded the game's current system for housing- I was wrong. It adds no customization and is honestly pretty frustrating. The only 'apartments' are the pre rendered ones, and San Myshuno is an un editable map. Tons of people, especially the ones this game caters to, are young professional adults. Most of us would rather live in smaller apartments where we can room and have fun with our friends, then have our friends as our neighbors as well. I don't see much appeal in the baby boomer build houses the Sims game caters to.
I'm no game designer, but wouldn't it be possible to treat apartment complexes as businesses? Make a leasing agent a profession to some Sim company, then you can treat the building of the apartments as buying up lands to build aparment complexes. Set up a zoning system that seperates different apartments from the main/community area, and I think you'd be well on your way to a way more interesting game system that can save space on lots and give people the customization they want.
Not that I think EA is actually going to do anything. I'm mostly just frustrated I have to jump through hoops to enjoy this expansion. Seems to be a common theme nowadays.
Okay so I have a few different things I would like to see added (or improved upon) to the game:
Ideas for game-/stuff packs: - "The sims 4 Eco" (or something more catchy): Adding things like solar panels (both placeable on the ground and on top of roofs), ways to collect water (and maybe use it in the household?), wind turbines etc. With a style of hand-made and recycling. Kind of complimentary but not reliant on Laundry day stuff pack.
- "The sims 4 Ages" (or you know something else...): Now this one is a wild-card that I don't know if it will fit in the sims but I'm going to write it down anyway. The idea is that you can choose a starting age to play in (kind of like how you start in a certain season in the seasons expansion), and as time passes the age changes and new stuff becomes available (like new inventions). This I think would maybe encourage players to play more with generations of sims and would be an interesting twist to the game, but it should be totally optional tho! I know that Strangerville had very mixed reviews and did not fit a lot of people, but I'm just throwing the idea out there.
Things to add to the base game: - A tool that allows you to put windows on the edge of a roof! I love that you added the glass roof texture but I do still want a way to put windows on the part that (with the saddle roof) is now just a wall. Sure with the bb.moveobjecs cheat you can place windows there but we don't have any triangular ones... I think a tool for this would be the best as it would not limit the creator to certain roof-heights (as it would if you were to add placeable windows). Kind of like how the roof-texture works right now where you select a texture instead of placing objects. A few different basic style window options would elevate the abilities to make really nice-looking roofs, I think! And as someone who loves to build and play with greenhouses I would very much approve of being able to make that part of the roof glass as well. (I would add a picture to explain further but I don't know how to do that...)
- Add all the different styles of fences as options for the stair-railing! This one is obvious I think, it really puts a halt to the creativity when you can't have a certain fence because there is no matching railing...
- The ability to build right on the edge of a lot! Like in the sims 3. I do not know the reason as to why this is not a thing in the sims 4 but it seems kind of weird that we can't build on the edge of the lot...
- Add the floor textures found in the world and at the edges of lots so that we can make our builds blend into the world more! Like roads, walkways and wooden decking. I love that in some lots (like for example in Sulani) the terrain around the lot blends in to the lot and makes it not stand out with harsh edges, more of this please!
Last but not least I would REALLY like to see EA employ some of the suuuper talented CC-creators that not only knows what the community likes but also have the passion to make really good quality content! It would bring the game creators and the community closer together, and with the way things are right now (and have been for a while) it would really benefit everyone... The community is more and more displeased with the things added to the game and it feels like we are getting worse content and really not the things we as players would like to have added to the game... The times where game creators have interacted a lot with players and made polls and such, the outcome have been great! Like with the laundry day stuff pack for example. Basically EVERYONE was happy with that one because we as players had a big say in it, after all we are the ones that love and play the game. Be more open about your process in coming up with ideas for expansions, game packs and stuff packs and let us, the community, take a part of it and voice our wishes, critiques and concerns. I understand that we can not be a part of the whole process (it would take forever...) but at leas in the first few stages of concept and ideas.
I really love The Sims and it brakes my heart that it isn't what it could potentially be, really hope this gets to someone that can make some changes for the better, for everyone.

1. How about matching kitchen cabinets??? Why would you create new counters and no cabinets to match???? It just seems like "dev laziness" to me. And if you insist on NOT making matching sets, then how about the SAME COLOR CHOICES FOR ALL CABINETS so we can AT LEAST match the color, if not the design?
2. Auto stair railings. I cannot begin to exclaim my excitement when you FINALLY put out split level stairs! I mean... It only took almost 20 years! LOL But... YAY!!!! However.... When you "turn" the stairs into an "L" shape and place railings, it goes all the way around, instead of just on the stairs, themselves. I'd like to send a picture, but I don't have a URL.
3. How about more LOTS in new "maps"??? This last one (Realm of Magic) was a HUGE disappointment. If I want to keep the "bar" or what ever that place is, I will only have 4 lots to build on if I demo all the existing homes. We're still paying the same amount with every new release, however, it seems like we get less and less....
Please allow us to rename the worlds at least. It's a HUGE oversight that we aren't able to do that. Most simmers will find a way to be okay with not having the freedom to build their own worlds - another massive oversight - but at the very least, it would be nice if we could rename the ones we have. I don't want Willow Creek 9 times when I make new saves to test new play ideas and storylines.
Please bring in depth storylines, bring back old sims, have more personality, wants, and actions for each individual sim dependent on each personality and characteristics. I want to feel like my sims are their own person.
One thing I'd like to give feedback on is the karaoke audio. The music from the karaoke machine is way too loud. It drowns out too many other sounds. If that could be adjusted in a patch in the future that would be amazing!
I would really just like to see some old features brought back. I wish my sims had more interactions like in 2. Also. Bring back the rabbit hole cars from 2 for mechanics, and then sims could open mechanic shops with the get to work expansion. Bring back sewing and knitting. My elderly sims need more to do. Bring back the option to talk about and show off their grandkids. Give us canes for the elderly! I appreciate all you guys do but it's the little things sometimes. It seems like the sims 4 is all abput building and making sims and is lacking hard in gameplay. If need be, have a team go back and play Sims 2 and 3 for the small key components. And grocery storesss. I miss going grocery shopping with my sims. I love as much realism and features as possible and I am sure I am not alone.
Different stairs eg spiral stair case, ladders functioning to be able to create small built in beds/storage underneath (if that makes sense) and use the ladders for against the walls to create your own bunk beds rather than buying ready made ones in buy mode.
Different beds, poster beds, bunk beds, King size beds, queen size beds.
Swimming pool to have more toys, inflatables, water slides, different hot tubs, saunas.
Skating rink, bowling alley, roller skating rink.
Nails, ombré hair, nail shapes.
Be able to throw insane weddings, have somebody marry you. First dance option in the dancing section.
Dance floor, strobe lights, party machines e.g fireworks, sparklers
Babies be able to edit in CAS eg babygro’s different clothes.
I'd really love to see Sims be able to be married to more than one person at a time. The automatic jealousy feature is really annoying and I'd love if it could be shut off so that when Sims flirt with someone else their spouse doesn't go cry in a bed somewhere. Those of us who are polyamorous would love to see our families represented in this game.
If you could select more than one spouse in CAS that would be really helpful and make the game more engaging.
Also, small note, the game has a lot of hairstyles with bangs, but not a lot with bangs that are longer and side swept into the hair. Long, straight hair.
I would like a vacation world with fun things to do. More activities would also be nice. I would like more than 1 sim to be able to get in a boat. Hotels would be awesome. If we had hotels and more activities, we wouldn't really need a vacation world. Our sims could vacation anyplace they don't live. I would like sims to have vacation properties as well. It would be nice if they could play some sports or toss a ball or frisbee around.
