I have to say I loved the Sims 2 and never expected to buy Sims 3 ... until... the color wheel!!! Oh, how I LOVE, Love, love the color wheel. I don't need all the patterns and textures (though having a few is nice), but I do NEED to be able to adjust the color.
I also love the open world, even though that wasn't even a consideration, because ... COLOR WHEEL!
I started a legacy right away in Riverview and still have the story in the stories section at ModTheSims. Despite Photobucket changing policies, the images are still intact.
I cannot believe how much time has passed and like other players have mentioned this game got me through so much in the early days as so much was going on in my life at the time..so it became my escape of sorts..
I tried to find the most earliest pic I have but I am sure they are somewhere stashed on an external hard drive so I will have to settle for my most favorite city
and the fairy area of my most loved custom world by @Rflong7 called Supernatural which shows me just what this game is capable of to anyone with the skills to make it happen..

and last but no means least I thank each and every simmer on the 3 forums over the years for all the help and support that is freely given and to the creators of worlds, builds, cc and mods that changed our worlds in so many ways and made the game more playable..
Hey it's my first time posting a comment I just got my account like five minutes ago but I will never go to sims 4. sims 3 4 eva!! Happy birthday sims 3
welcome and never say never I have sims series 1-4 Sims 3-2 being my most played involved games however sometimes when I am not in the best of health and want something to do without too much brain power I play series 4 like it's an easy mobile phone game if that makes sense..but the majority of the time its 3&2 followed by series 1 on a very old laptop
Played 1, 2, 3 and 4....Back to Sims 3, where I'll finally get to become Master Nectar Maker. Happy Birthday Sims 3. You were the best one of all, and Still the One. My best memory...Season just bought, I turned it on, late night for me. I went to bed, woke up early and checked my Sims 3 avatars....looked outside, ground covered with deep snow, everything covered with snow, heavy fog, the feeling of deep penetrating cold. My Sims went from window to window. Just looking out, feeling so very real. No other Sims ever had Winter like The Sims 3. Second? Grandchild of Sims I played a lot comes running to her granny, fresh off the school bus, and jumps into her arms; with no prompting from me.
I've been playing TS3 since 2012 and was able to start fully enjoying it in 2013 after I got into using a Modded game.
Here's my sims fishing in Salisbury Beach,Massachusetts in the summer of 1525.
Here's a view of the town my apocalypse challenge is played in which is a custom world called Sunset Valley2.
@EA_Mai -I've picked these pictures out from my apocalypse challenge in the 16th century.
I’ve been playing TS3 since it’s release and before that played Sims2. My addition all began by playing the original Sims on the Xbox as a kid. TS3 is my favorite of the franchise!
I don't say goodbye to the sims 3 so please the Gurus for many of us simmers, the sims 3 is not on our trash in 2019, we cannot turned the pages and we're stay a strong community and alive community !
How time flies, remember how exited i was when i got my first The Sims 3 game, having pre-ordered the game form PlateKompaniet in Norway. Got it the same day or the day after the launch. My sis was so angry as i was so immersed in the game, that she could not get any respond when she asked me to come and watch a movie LOL
I'm still crazy about this game and with all new and exiting mod the game is never finished Have played the sim games from The Sims 1 started, but have not gone to the "dark" side with The SIms 4, tried it at a friend and hated it (shallow and horrible colour haze)
My heart belong to the sims 3, 2 and 1 and the Sims Medieval 1&2 + the stand alones Life, Pets and Castaway stories
Love love love TS3 and I remember the weekend I got it. My husband literally went away for the weekend, camping. All I did was play Sims and snack! Amazing how much better a 10-year-old game still is compared to the travesty that is TS4.
I got Sims 3 the day it came out as I had been following the news and had a countdown timer and all. Unfortunately, in 2009 computers were awful and my PC was no exception. Everytime my Sims used a laptop, I had huge bars of color on my screen and constant crashing.
So I waited to play heavily for a year and read the forums and Sims stories to tide me over.
Then I got a slightly better computer and played about 8 hours a day while I attended college online.
My first sim had a huge head with ugly hair, but I loved her.
I dropped 2 for 3 and really never looked back... Until I got the complete collection on origin, I hadn't played it at all in about 6 years.
Sims 3 is my all-time favorite and I've been playing since 2000, at age 12 ♥️
I've played the Sims 3 for five years now - and I agree with everyone else, time flies fast. I remember wanting to get the game because I got addicted to it at my brother's house and being so excited when I finally got it. Since then, my brother has sadly passed, but this game still brings me so much joy and excitement in my life!
I started playing Sims 3 with my daughter back in 2011 to 2014 until my laptop died. Began playing Sims 4 in 2015 with my new HP desktop computer. The Sims 4 doesn't freeze up like The Sims 3. However, I miss the variety of Stuff it had that Sims 4 still doesn't have even after 5 years. My daughter now on her own got Sims 3 installed on her new desktop computer with Windows 10 & had no problems this time around. So, I just installed a free Sims 3 Starter Pack on Origin. Then hopefully I can get the Sims 3 Dragon Age, Lunar Lake, & Braney Bay Pirates. Never had them the 1st time around.
In a couple days The Sims 3 will become 10 years old! That's a lot of hours of having fun with our Sims.
I changed my avatar for the occasion - let's celebrate sharing some memories from playing the game and using The Sims 3 themed avatars!
Anyone wants to start?
PS. Hey, if you were planning on getting new SimPoints, now is the time!
sims 3 is STILL the best. sims 4 sucks

The first time I heard about this new game, The Sims 3, the successor of The Sims 2, was some time in spring 2007, when I heard some girl talking about it on the radio, and she said she was going to ask her mum to buy it for her as soon as it was released.
Here is a little ad leaflet I found in the case of some other computer game a long time ago:
I've been so excited to get back into Sims after illness kept me from my games and I wasn't able to play live mode yet.
Here's what I was able to do in my game.
I’m totally late on the birthday train. But I just want to express how much I enjoyed sims 3.. all the expansions is what I enjoyed the most.. I had lots of problems trying to run the game on my laptop over the many years I have played (since it first came out) I remember going to google “My sims 3 game lags” and I did all that I read.. sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t.. but that didn’t stop me.. I got to a point where it was like eh that’ll do.. even when sims 4 came out I was still playing sims 3.. but I finally got into sims 4 and now I’m thinking of playing sims 3 again.. lol.. happy 10th birthday sims 3!!

Here's what I was able to do in my game.
Adding kitchen furnishings.
Furnishing a main floor bedroom.
Moving to furnishing a basement bedroom.
Adding dressers to the basement room.
Here's the finished bedroom next to the basement kitchen in AnneArbor's city hall.
