@matchmaker Such a clever design. I'm guessing that's roofing making the orange diamonds on the outside.

    @psykt Beautiful family!

so I don't have a cash register in my inventory nor have I been able to find a cc, well not a working one anyway, so can I just use a computer and make it look like a cash register
  • AllearsAllears Posts: 519 Member
@Pirate Of course you can! :) Any time you don't have an object you need for these challenges because you don't have that particular pack, you're welcome to use your imagination and come up with something else that will replace it. The computer sounds like a good substitute for the cash register! :)

ENTRY DETAILS: What a fortuitous turn of events for Jerome and Shirley Washington to end up with a small piece of land in Newcrest. As you're probably aware, Newcrest has been going through a bit of a renaissance lately...some call it gentrification...but we're not here to quibble. The point is, what was old is suddenly new again and with the renewed interest in the Bridgeview neighborhood especially, looks like its the perfect spot to start a small business. With Jerome's knowledge of tea and Shirley's baking skills, seemed only logical to open a tea room. Jerome and Shirley also found they had quite the attachment to the three-story apartment building that stood on their land and made the decision to to keep it intact and renovate to suit their own needs. And while they could have used a bit more room, with the family growing the way it is, they're a resourceful couple and they know they can make this work...$85,000 is a tight budget after all. Jerome and Shirley are way too frugal and cautious to go biting off more than they can chew. Let's all wish the Washington family the best of luck and a safe delivery of the twins, and then let's pick a date to all meet up for a spot of tea and nutbread one day soon.

SIMS 4 LOT NAME: The Old Salt House, San Myshuno 30x30

    GALLERY COST: $84,960
    TOTAL COST: $93,960
LINK TO ENTRY SLIDESHOW: Brew’n’Bake Slide Show
    ENTRY DETAILS:
Brew’n’Bake is a brand new Tea Shop on the edge of San Myshuno dockland. Built around the shell of an old derelict factory building, large scale renovation and a little extension work have taken place to create a trendy venue to shop and/or socialise on the ground floor and a three bedroom apartment above.

This was another collaboration piece with my daughter, and had plenty of firsts - I’ve never built in San Myshuno before, never tried an industrial build and (as my mod file got turned off with the update) we thought we’d try a no CC build…….I really do miss the choice of items from my lovely CC but it was probably a good call as I struggled enough with the budget as it was! Yet another great challenge & learning curve, thank you 😊

(No cc also turned out to be an expensive rl choice, as bedroom decorating was apparently ‘impossible!’ without Toddler Stuff pack…..I’m such a soft touch haha, but it’s really great fun to share this with her so I don’t care!)

ENTRY DETAILS: After inheriting a small piece of land in the middle of town, Mr. Washington has lost his job. To add insult to injury, the apartment complex the family lives in is set to be demolished, so they desperately need a new home fast. The couple has decided, based on family members' encouragement, that opening a bakery/tea shop would be the best way to go, with an apartment above to live in.
The ground floor bakery and tea shop includes a large area for baking in the back and a large storefront with seating both inside and out. The employee area is enclosed by a fence. A small-ish backyard is devoted to toddler games and cozy conversation.
Upstairs the family has a 3 bedroom/2.5 bath apartment home to enjoy.

Found some time to look through all the build entries so far.....what an amazing bunch of builders! What I love about these challenges is the huge variety of builds that come from the same challenge, just fab. Sorry it’s all at once but here goes.....

@Talea12345 So high! Kind of looks like a container build that’s been hoisted into place? I’d love to be out on that open patio, though sunshine would def be better than fog.....and I want a hover car too please!!

@wendyology Great job mixing the two buildings to look so natural and I agree, fits right into the neighbourhood. Loved the idea tables out at the back and also the dual entry shared bathroom, nice!

@Taoron I’m kind of disappointed those babies weren’t in cardboard boxes after all haha! Love the modern build, something I really struggle with so I’ll be taking notes.....also loved the loose tea solution, didn’t think of that!

@matchmaker So visually striking, great work! Love how you’ve made an ultra modern build fit into nature with the outdoor area & green tea pond too

@alijay A great lot and really beautiful build that fits right in, and as ever the whole decor just exudes class & calm. Can’t decide if I like your artwork, the stairs or that clever change table best but it’s def one of this three, love it!

@Archer_Girl Just so totally cute! I adore your whole Newcrest and this build in particular - very impressive how you got all of that to fit in!

@iampes23 Wow the Washington’s are going to make bundles! That kitchen really is commercial level and love that there’s an employee rest area too (out with bins made me giggle, so true to life 😆) lots of storage space is something I always forget to give my sims and you’re so prepared with the rows of high chairs and potties, fab!

LOL I searched all through the debug items and couldn't find a box appropriate enough so...LOL

I do hope that others get a chuckle from the loose 'leaf' tea. =)

@Taoron Are the hospital ones in debug then? Must have missed those - found the normal ones but they turned into a baby when I placed them haha......actually thinking about it, the babies might have made it into my upload version *wanders off to check....*

I have just finished my build but I need to know of a site I can use for my slide show. Flickr only allows 1000 pictures for free.

It's very easy. You just put all the screenshots in one album. Then copy and paste the link at the top of the album, and thee's your slideshow.
