I don't have any firsthand knowledge, but since we can't actually control two Sims at work, and I did have two from my household in the Science career, I'd have to say, no. I was totally bummed out, because although my second Sim showed up to work and I could see her when I followed her hubby to work, there was no way I could control her. I think the best solution would be to follow each Sim in the same career, every other day, or in this case, every other gig and see if that satisfies what you're looking for, which I'm guessing is advancing each of them in their careers. Just a thought.
I have tried alllll the ways to do this and the only way that you can have a sim that you made or pulled from the gallery at the studio with your sim when they go on a gig is to put them in a different household and then use MCCC to mark their household as "other" (ie, not yours, but npc). For my story, I wanted my sims to meet while they were on set and this was the only way. However, doing this wiped out the sim I marked as other's skills and relationships so the only sim he knew was his girlfriend and he had no skills anymore, just the job at the same level I left him at.

One household can easily have two to three actors. Actors only work two or three times a week and you choose which days they work. By choosing different days for each actor, they'll be able to work without any overlap, so you'll be able to join all of them at work.
However, I think what you really want is to have two of your Sims working the same gig, at the same time, and join them both. I don't think the game will allow that. You can't do that with any of the other active careers, so I'd be very surprised if you can do it in acting.
