Let's Share Recreations of Sims Builds

Have any of you endeavored to recreate your favorite lot from an earlier Sims game? I found one that another played built for Sims3. (I have always used this lot for my Cantrell family. Yes, they're that old. )

It's a fantastic recreation of the original lot, but I found a few errors along the way when I was drawing it up on graph paper to use as a guide. I carefully counted the squares equating one square on the grid to one on the graph paper. All of this so I could faithfully recreate it in Sims4. I even went into Sims2 to double-check a few things. I had quite forgotten that we didn't have a grid in those days. So, I gave the house a good look anyway, and realized what was wrong in the Sims3 build. So, I fixed it as I built it anew and placed it into my Sims4 game. Then I went a little wild and crazy and changed the exterior siding a bit. Originally, I was placing it in Windenburg, but most recently in a brand new game save I decided to place it in Brindleton Bay, instead. Boy, am I ever happy I did so. This seems to be the very best place for it. What a location!

I would never fit all mine in here lol. Love your build though, do you plan on making any more?

I was a big sims 3 fan and have been making Lots from that version non-stop for probably the last 4 weeks.

So far I have filled Willow Creek with Sunset Valley recreations, Oasis Springs with Appaloosa Plains, Forgotten Hollow with Moonlight Falls and am now doing Twinbrook in Newcrest.

I have deleted every original building in every world and all the sims to make a 'sims 3' save. I'm adding the sims 3 sims into their houses as I build each one. And for each community area I build a few chosen community lots from the relevant sims 3 world (eg. In Forgotten Hollow I made Varg's Tavern).

I can't believe how entertained it has kept me!

I rebuilt the Riverview Ranch lot from TS3, months ago. It was a starter home in Riverview with about 3 rooms iirc and I loved it ever since I first moved into it. I don’t have pics but I tried to make it similar but it’s difficult with TS4 having no garage and the arch’s and windows not being similar. I added in a basement and a laundry room. I don’t have any pics though, sorry

I built the Plumbob Pictures Backlot from Sims 3 Nightlife!

This was before Get Famous, and I was starved for some Hollywood play, so I opened up Sims 3 and took a bunch of screenshots to recreate it as faithfully as possible. Of course, the original backlot was a rabbit hole, so I got to guess what went inside the buildings, and I guessed... a soundstage, of course! And offices. Must have offices.

I threw a Superstar trailer in the back to complete my nostalgia trip, then went and made an entire story on my Tumblr to show it off.

That's okay. Perhaps, the next time you have a moment you can open up that lot and snap a few to share? At any rate it was fun to hear what you've done.

@elanorbreton Thank you for the compliment. Like now, I do most of my own builds. It's just that the Wright Way House was always the one I used for my Cantrell family. I was delighted to find another player (sorry, I no longer have the name) recreated it for Sims3. I had planned on making it a tad larger, and then realized the scale in this game is already larger.

In fact, in some places, I'm squishing the interior rooms down a tad. LOL Like the main floor bathroom. I may put it back up in the Gallery, once I remove the equipment from the RTF mod. Just in case someone else loved it, too.

But as of now, I have no future recreation plans.

I did a rebuild of Sunset Mall from The Sims Freeplay a few months back when I was dealing with crippling depression and this was my only distraction. idk if it counts for this since urbz is spinoff but trying to recreate some of the urbz lots lately for newcrest and started with gasoline row

still looks off though since there ain't motorcycles in this game and i had to use aquazips

and the amount of "fire pattern" missed is just too much

going to make central station under it one day (should I find my old urbz game first to make sure of squares at least)

Oh man, one of my favorite things to do is recreate lots from The SIms 3 to see how they might look in The Sims 4! I have created a whole bunch, but these three stick out to me the most (all are fully furnished and can be found on my ModTheSims page; URL in my signiture)

Out of all my recreations, I have a fondness for this little house - it's from Moonlight Falls and is called The Bay View (where the Maldano sim lives, who I believe was loosely based on Sookie Stackhouse):

@elanorbreton Very nicely done. I can't help but fixate on the name Sookie. I'm going to have to look that one up. But, I have an ancestor who was named Susan but they apparently called her "Sookie". Just came across her recently, to that caught my eye. At any rate, your builds are great. Thank you so much for sharing.
