    First time downloading CAW and not able to use it :( PLEASE HELP

    So today I decided that I wanted to create a world of my own. (Very ambitious) So I dowloaded to tool when I click to use it says "Your currently installed version of the game is not compatible with Create=A-World. You must reinstall Create-A-World, First back up your world files and uninstall Create-A-World. Then download the new version of Create-A-World and install the new version. What do I do?

    I really want to create a new world, hopefully in time for my beloved pets! :)

    PLEASE HELP!

      I'm glad to know i'm not alone :) It just really makes me mad because I was really looking forward to creating my own world.

      I think I saw you guys in another thread, so I'll just copy and paste what I said there :)

      There are a few things that you can try. Go to this thread http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/417418.page

      If you guys let us know what games you have, we could help you better

      If you have Generations, but not Town Life, try this, http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=450303 It worked for me

      If nothing else works, try downloading a previous version, found here in post 18 http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?p=3592794&posted=1#post3592794

      I haven't tried the links yet but I have Generations and Ambitions along with the original base game. I really did mean to add those in the original post.

      Bear017- Go to your computer-double click C:-Program files-Electronic Arts-The Sims 3 Generations-Game-Bin-Default.ini

      If you have Windows Vista, you might need to right click it and click "run as administrator" and then open and edit it

      I have base game sims 3 and late nite.
      and just to let all know i did try the rewrite of the default.ini file instructions even with the old version of CAW. but it didnt work.
      any way thanks for this possible fix of CAW. will post update on if it works later.

      okay here is update kept same CAW install didnt do update patch. had to open Caw default.ini file and Sims 3base game Default.ini file and Late nites default.ini file and make sure that all game version and worldbuild versions matched...now Caw loads and works..Woot! hope this helps.!

      Thanks guys for all your help :) I have fixed it! The second link is what helped me but I found the file before reading any instructions from this fourm, I just right clicked on my generations icon and went to file location and easy found the default thingy.

      Does anyone know how I can download CAW? I tried downloading from thesims3. com
      but a blank box with no options popped up. Can't figure out why or how else to download (safely)

      You should just start a new thread. Necro'd threads are usually closed pretty quickly.
      https://www.thesims3.com/game/tools/world - this page works, you need to click on the little box to "accept terms and conditions" then click the appropriate download for your game/patch level (which can be found when you open your game at the bottom of the launcher).
