    Question about downloading custom worlds

    If I download a custom world that requires an expansion but I don't have said expansion can I still install it?

    I'm guessing some buildings might be missing but will I come across any glitch or bugs while playing that world?

      I use custom worlds often, but I own all the expansions.I would think it would depend on what was used from said expansion.
      I am gonna tag a custom world builder @Rflong7 perhaps they could answer.

      If you are missing packs and the builder only used stuff ocassionally usually the game will just replace it with something default, but if you are missing a LOT of stuff it will try to replace it, but can crash from the strain.

      So for example, say they used door A from pack G on a few buildings, the game will replace it with base game door B, and it should be fine. But if they used door A on 80+ lots, along with many of the decor objects from pack G on every lot the game may not be able to handle replacing so many objects.

      If they have a populated "base" save there is a chance you will not be able to use it, as it could contain life states or something that you do not have.

      It's possible the world could use a bridge from a pack you don't own and not having that in place will cause routing issues. I'd read the description to see if the creator lists what they used from certain packs.

      Which packs do you currently own?

      I own base game, LN, Ambitions, WA, IP and showtime. I wanted to get the world St Claire but it also requires Pets and Generations, which I don't own. I looked at a lot of worlds and most of them requires expansions that I don't own or will ever own cause I'm not really into pets or fairies.
