Nice update. They are going to have fun with those three. I'm waiting to see how many of them are mermaids. At least you don't have to worry about mermaid toddlers dehydrating.
I'm not sure, but I think the mermaid children also don't need to keep hydrated. I do have a mermaid child in one game and don't think I've ever had to worry about her hydration. Haven't played her often - she was born soon after Isla Paradiso was released but she's in my big game now and does get a bit of play occasionally.
It is a busy time for the Whitley's, but they adjust happily to the changes in their lives and the routine of the babies needs. They still manage to sneak in a few moments for alone time when the babies are napping or in their swings. Sometimes they just have to take those moments when they can.
Dwight has definitely made the decision to become a private investigator and signs up with the city and the police station. He finds out that Logan has decided to become a police officer and they do some of their training together. Dwight takes a course and easily passes the exam to become a licensed PI.
Lorelei manages to get time in for diving as well. There are still plenty of jobs from the science lab to search out seabeds and the bistro is always looking for exotic fish. Since they are both self employed they are able to arrange their schedules so that one or the other are with the babies all the time. Pearl and Logan have babysat a few times so Dwight and Lorelei have managed a few 'date' nights.
Dwight has learned that the babies love music and are soothed when he plays the guitar. He entertains them frequently while Lorelei is on her diving trips.
He is becoming quite good at bathing the babies. He and Austin flick water at each other and Austin chortles happily.
Dwight works on repairing the faucet. He wonders why such an expensive fixture seems to breakdown every other day. (I showed the picture because I totally love that mirror and would love one in real life)
They make sure the babies are not inside all the time. They need fresh air and the scent of the sea in their young lives. Dwight is heading out to run errands and kisses Lorelei before leaving. She and Dwight enjoy a friendly game of gnubb when he returns and rock the babies to sleep afterwards.
Dwight's first case was with Jules. Jules is working at the science lab and one of the supervisors was using data from his subordinates experiments to enhance his career and taking credit for the successful experiments. Jules wants Dwight to help him plant some false data that points directly back to the supervisor and not to any of his coworkers. They meet at the local gym to plan the strategy. Dwight goes to the local library and hacks into the science lab computers. He searches the files and finds the supervisors records of the experiments, who he stole the data from and how he was able to divert the information into his files. The man was a bit too proud of his accomplishments and left damaging and incriminating information on the computer. Dwight copies the files for his records, sends copies to the head of the lab as well as all department heads so everyone is aware of this mans activities. He meets with Jules back at the gym and tells him what he discovered and that he didn't have to plant any false data since the supervisor left his own incriminating files in the system. He gives Jules a copy of the files and settles his bill with Jules. Jules was grateful and paid in full and said he would recommend him if anyone he knew needed a PI.
Dwight shares a little about the case when he gets home over leftover angel food cake with Lorelei. He goes upstairs and checks on the babies. Austin is still awake so he picks him up and plays with him, cuddles him, checks his diaper and rocks him in his arms. When he sees the little lids fluttering he lays him down gently in the bed. Austin drifts off to sleep.
@KevinL5275 Thanks for commenting! Apparently when he is done with a case he burns the case notes. I thought it was funny so included a picture. I had done the PI a long time ago, but had forgotten they do that.

Another one of the many things I have yet to learn about this game!
Dwight gets Eric ready for the day and then starts on breakfast while Lorelei gets Erin and Austin ready. It is a special time of day when the babies are especially alert and happy. The parents enjoy the apple pancakes and talk about plans for the day.
He checks for any jobs available on the website and then sits with Lorelei while she looks at the local paper.
He tells her about a job and that it should be a fast one and hugs her bye. She plays with Austin in his swing while the other two babies nap.
The job doesn't take long and he hurries back home. He finds he misses his little ones as much as he misses their Mom when he is gone. He rocks Erin and feeds a hungry Eric while Mom rocks Austin.
They find time to rock themselves once the babies are in bed.
Lorelei is up with the sun and takes an early swim. It is a beautiful morning in Sunlit Tides. She showers in the outdoor shower enclosure before going back into the house.
Austin is up and he gets a ride in the new stroller.
Dad gets a ride in his new 'stang'. A cool PI needs a cool ride! He needed to be able to get to places faster with his job than his bike could do. Plus, with babies they needed a bigger ride so there is also an SUV in the garage. Lorelei may not be thrilled but she cannot handle getting three babies around the island on her bike.
Erin and Eric get rides in the strollers when Dad gets home. Dwight somehow manages to get the stroller through the sand filled side yard!
Later that evening once it was nice and dark Dwight went out and riffled the mail and searched the trash at a potential blackmailer's home. Dwight found several magazines and newspapers where the letters and words had been cut out in the trash can. He reported back to his client Suzuki that his suspicions as to who the blackmailer is correct. He helped Suzuki file a police report with Logan who will handle the case from this point.
Lorelei was waiting in the foyer when Dwight got home. They didn't quite make it to the bedroom.

@bekkasan Well there's my answer to the question I had for you on the other thread!
Another two nice updates. Now I'm just waiting patiently to find out if they have scales or not. I haven't done much with the PI career. I've had a few PIs in my Big Game but not played them and I find Sims I don't play tend to get to the top of their careers quickly.
@emorrill hehe, I answered over there as I checked that thread first.
@Karritz Thanks for commenting. You will see very soon I hope!
I can't imagine an inactive PI doing very much on his own since it is an interactive career and you have to accept each part of the quest. But, I did see a ghost buster in my game the other day that was an inactive and he was at a house slurping up ghosts with his ghost gun. I think SP controls that one though. Got pictures which may or may not show up in the story. He was actually the person Dwight had to interview for a case so I had to wait til he was 'done working', before he could be interviewed.

Today is the triplets birthday! Lorelei and Dwight are both busy baking cakes so that each baby gets a birthday cake.
They decided against a party feeling that would be too many people and might frighten the kids. Some of their friends can get a bit boisterous. Erin goes first as she was born first. She smiles and laughs with excitement catching the excitement of her Mom and Dad. Erin grows into her toddler stage with lovely turquoise scales. She is a mermaid!
Eric is second and the loud noise maker his Dad is using just makes him giggle and laugh. Eric changes into his toddler stage with beautiful green scales. He is a merman!
Austin is last and he is waiting patiently for his change. He is the quietest of the three. Will he change into a merman or will he be human? Austin changes into a beautiful merman. (I missed the last shot of him as a baby so he gets two pics of his toddler change)
The kids play happily with their bears that have lived in their beds since they were born while Mom and Dad eat some of the yummy cake.
They enjoy playing with the toddlers and after milk and mushed up cake it was soon time for them to go to bed. Dwight bathed and settled Eric as well as tickled and settled Erin. Lorelei rocks Austin and gets him settled. Dwight got a call from a potential client needing his help right now. Can he come right away? Lorelei smiles at him. "I've got this now that they are settled in bed, you go on and see what is wrong. They sound desperate." He hugs her and kisses her, thanking her for understanding. She kisses him and tells him, "be careful" and off he goes into the night to see what is wrong in Sunlit Tides.
I did go in and color each kids scales how I wanted them. I was so excited that all three were merfolk! I made the same area on all three kids orange as representative of their Mom's color and the other color was from their favorite color. I did go back in and fix Erin's colors to a brighter orange as hers was too light when I looked at it later. I still need to fix the other two's a bit brighter. I'm just picky that way! lol
@AlexaKry Thanks for commenting. I do love that picture! Sorry, I missed your comment the other day! If I'm gonna start getting pretty pictures I'm gonna have to start turning the headlines off again! lol
@KevinL5275 If I miss more than a few days I don't try to catch up! It moves too fast! There are lots of good stories, but lots of unfinished ones because people leave
@Karritz Thanks! Now, I'm guessing they still won't get tails til they are kids or teens? I didn't read much farther on carl's site than when they would get scales....not as babies, but as toddlers. I do have the ones from MTS for toddlers, but again, if they can't dive in the water I don't see much point in using them other than as a cute picture outside of the story. I'm not much for spending too much time posing pics so that wont happen even if I could find poses.
@bekkasan I haven't bothered to see if my mermaid toddlers had tails. I doubt it as I've never seen any toddler swim. I didn't even try to see if my child mermaid got a tail. So I can't help you with further info on that. As for poses. I've never bothered with them. I just get screen shots of videos as they occur in my game. Since making videos I take a lot less screen shots. Generally I forget to get them.
The emergency Dwight discovers is that Mary-Sue Pleasant lost her wallet. He understands a new PI can't be too picky about the type of cases he takes or when. She recalls having it with her at the beach, but it was missing when it came time to pay her bill at the Bistro. The ever gallant Mayor of Sunlit Tides paid her bill to get her out of trouble with the Bistro and recommended that she call Dwight as he knows Dwight has recently opened his business.
Dwight goes out to the beach that Mary-Sue had visited even though it is dark. He thinks how he would feel if Lorelei had lost her wallet and no one helped her. He gets out his magnifier and flashlight to help him search. He jots a few notes down to remind him of where he has searched. He tiptoes across the lot thinking a sandwich would be good right about now. Interesting, he finds her drivers license just laying on the ground. That means someone took the wallet and the rest of its contents.
He speaks to a couple who were leaving the beach and he gets a description of a man they saw at the beach earlier today. A third person confirms the name of the man at the beach, one Alonso Candelaria. He will need to find a way to speak to this man.
He discovers Alonso works for a local ghostbuster firm and is able to find out where he is assigned tonight. Our lady with the ghost problem looks a bit familiar. I think Mr Ghost Buster likes the way Mary Sue looks from what he can see at the door. Dwight decides to wait at the park across the street, but it seemed as if this ghost collecting activity was going to take several hours so he decided to head home and talk with the man tomorrow.
Good thing he came home because a burglar attempted to get into the home. The alarm went off and the burglar ran away before the police even arrived. The officer is explaining to Dwight and Dwight sends him on his way. (Dwight is brave and it really irks me when the game refuses to let a brave sim go fight a burglar. I wish I knew why this happens sometimes! It has happened twice since they moved to this house.)
Dwight hugs and reassures Lorelei that all is well. The babies slept through the racket from the alarm. They get back in bed and fall asleep in each others arms.
Dwight helps get the kids up and ready for the day before heading out to find Alonso.
He finds Alonso at the local library the next morning still wearing his ghost buster clothing. He introduces himself, makes a bit of small talk, asks about his job and a few other minor inquiries and then zings him with the knowledge that he took Mary-Sue's wallet as well as set her up for the ghost attack last night. "How....how did you figure that out? I'm sure no one saw me." he stutters. "You dropped her license at the beach and I was hired to find her wallet and found you because people did see you." Dwight explains. "Oh man, I'm so embarrassed" Alonso blushes bright red. That was not the reaction that Dwight was expecting. "Why did you do it?"
Alonso explains that he had seen Mary-Sue around town and had a bit of a crush on her. When he saw her drop her wallet, he was hurrying to give it back to her, but she left in a cab so quickly he didn't get to her in time. He checked her address on her license and that must have been when he dropped it. He decided she might like him better if he was a hero so he introduced some ghosts, not evil ones, just mischievous ones, to her home that evening while she was at work and made sure he got the call when she called about the ghosts. He dispatched the ghosts and they had a nice talk afterwards and he felt so bad because she had been so frightened that he forgot to give her back the wallet. "She's a really nice lady and I was really stupid scaring her like that." He gives it to Dwight and all the money is intact. Dwight thanks him for his honesty and suggests he might try being honest with Mary-Sue. "She has already been hurt by one husband playing games and she doesn't need another man in her life like that."
Dwight takes the wallet back to Mary-Sue and suggests she call Alonso as he has something to tell her.
