Hi, very late thanks to this wonderful tutorial. I feel as though I have known this website for longer than how long I have actually known this website! I'm so excited to get all the features of a member, I hope I can continue learning and enjoying my time here.
Hi, what a wonderful thread and thank you for your patient replies. I would like to ask that is a new member unable to change his/her profile photo? I did not find the related options. :s

Hello @AzureLam Welcome to the forums! You need to have 25points and 15 posts before you can become a full member and can then have an Avi picture, post pictures, have a signature, start new threads, edit posts , post links that show up correctly and have quotes appear in grey boxes . This thread explains about it. http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/934205/small-change-for-new-members#latest
You receive a point each time another simmer presses like or awesome or insightful on a post that you have posted in a thread created by another simmer.
Can you not create a discussion if you are a new member?
Hello @feleva
New members are unable to start new threads until they become full members.
To start a new thread when you are a full member , go to the section of the forums where you want to start a new thread , and press the “ new discussion” button on the top right hand side of the screen. Then you can give a title to the discussion thread, and post in the post box what you want to post

@purplww If you go to the different forums and comment you can get your posts done quickly.. Let them know you are new and you can get your likes and awesomes more quickly..
I really hope it's okay to comment here and not get in trouble but I cant find the list about badges. What are badges on here? How do you get one? Better yet how can I see what I earned and why for a badge. I have so much difficulty navigating the forums trying to search topics, sadly I have better luck looking them up on Google, LOL. Also what does quoting someone mean is it like tagging someone in a comment?

This post explains about the badges that you can earn points through. http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/comment/16043647/#Comment_16043647
When you go to your activities wall, there is an area on the left hand side of the page that lists the badges that you have earned.
Quoting someone means that you use the quote button which is the 6th button from the left in the bar of buttons above the forums post. It copies all the message of the other simmer into your own post.
Embarrassing as this I actually found the thread right after :D posting this so sorry about that! I still don't really understand quoting..and to be even more honest even after reading the one discussion or w.e by that one person I still don't get what the difference is between a discussion, thread, or topic. Is the Categories where it shows what general topics there are then the number of discussions means now many threads were made? I'm sorry to sound really clueless or a 🐸🐸🐸🐸 but this why I never join forums or things like reddit because I feel so lost..
Back to quoting like what's the purpose wouldn't tagging someone remotely the same purpose? Sorry I tried to look up these things and it was pointless. I feel so behind with this. It's quite humiliating

Hello @DeadInsid3_plur2EDM
Please don’t feel embarassed. The forums can be confusing to start off with.
You don’t have to quote people, you can tag them if you would like to. Quoting though can help when you are commenting on a message that they have posted. It shows to them what message you are posting about that they have written.
A discussion, thread and topic are all the same things but different names. Try not to be concerned about the terminology, and just enjoy reading and posting on threads

@DeadInsid3_plur2EDM,
A link with a list of badges that gives out points. There is a page that explains what each badge is but it's broken for the time being.
