The Ball: Part 1
The mail had arrived right on its usual time.
Ah, there was a letter addressed to the entire household. Who could it be from?
"Girls, I have great news! The Tremaine family has been invited by the royal family to attend a ball this weekend. Apparently the young prince is looking for his bride there!"
"No way! Did you hear that Drizella?!"
"Absolutely Anastasia!"
"You know what this means my dears. Both of you must be on your best behavior to impress the prince."
A ball? Cindy has never been to one of those before. How exciting!
The Ball: Part 2
"Don't worry Mother. I'm going to make sure the prince totally falls for me!"
"What's this I hear about a ball?"
Suddenly the room went silent.
"Don't concern yourself about it Cinderella."
"Oh, but I do believe you said the letter was an invite for the Tremaine household. And since I am a Tremaine I too would like to attend this ball."
"Pfft, yeah right. The last thing the royal family needs is a dirty maid at their ball."
"I wouldn't attend in this drab, for sure. I'll do my best to look presentable."
"Yes, as representatives of the Tremaine household all of us need to be looking our best."
"Ah... I think I get what you mean Mother."

The Ball: Part 3
Cinderella was determined to attend the ball alongside their family, but Lady would use all of her power to put a stop to that.
She'll give the child so much laundry to do she will be scrubbing until her arm muscles give way. Until her back bends out.
There's absolutely no way Cinderella Tremaine will attend the royal ball!
The Ball: Part 4
"Um...Anastasia. I have a big favor to ask of you. May I...borrow one of your dresses to wear to the ball? I promise to double up on all of my chores for such graciousness!"
"Sure. I'll help you find something to wear to the ball. But certainly not something of mine!"
Cindy cannot believe her ears!! Did Anastasia actually agree to help her for once?!
Lady Tremaine cannot believe her ears either.
Although she didn't hear exactly what her daughter and Cinderella were agreeing on, she didn't like it one bit.
Why was Anastasia even speaking to that wretch instead of giving her commands?
Lady Tremaine tried to get closer to hear a trigger word that would force her to bring their conversation to a swift end.
Cindy wasn't sure if she could fully trust Anastasia, but it wasn't like she had much else to lose!
Whatever was going on the Lady had her eye on those two.
The Ball: Part 5
Aside from laundry the Lady has decided to increase Cinderella's chores in other ways by sabotaging the plumbing around the house.
"Psst! Cinderella are you awake?"
"Sure am! I could hardly sleep."
"Great then let's go quickly before Mother and Drizella notice us gone!"
It was early in the morning and Anastasia brought Cinderella to a fashion boutique.
"First things first, all that blue has got to go."
Cindy wasn't quite sure what she was talking about.
"Don't look at me all confused. I'm talking about your go-to color for clothing. You wear too much blue!"
"But blue is my favorite color."
"Take me for example. I always wear pink because it is the superior color. You want to look as good as me right?"
"Yeah... Sure..."
"Of course you do! Now follow me."
The Ball: Part 6
"It's time for your fitting, princess."
Cindy went in to try the outfits Anastasia had selected for her.
The first one felt a little tight.
"Oh my. I've never put on something so...form-fitting."
"Hah! You look like a minstrel. Next outfit."
"Oh!"
"Now THAT is the perfect look for you Cinderella!"
"I don't think this would be appropriate to wear to a ball."
"Okay then... Next."
The Ball: Part 7
The next outfit...
... it felt just right.
Anastasia knew Cinderella would settle on this dress, though she didn't expect to feel so much rage on seeing her in it.
"I love it! This is the one!"

Today I finally made the home look a bit more... lived in. I never meant to stay this long in this spot, but it turns out it's just a πΈπΈπΈπΈ lovely spot. There's fishing just outside the door. There's green areas to jog in, plants grow well. I just kept on growing, making the best plants, working as a florist, still do. Now, I suddenly have 400k and thinking that maybe it's time to finally get a bigger plot so I can actually make more of a garden. There's just no room here.
Today I got out of my comfort zone a little and then I discovered why I shouldn't have left my comfort zone in the first place! The Dubose household wanted to know more people, so they ended up gathering a group of random people - who are sort of friends with them - to a Winter Fest party. It was cold and snowy out, perfect for Winter Fest! Who knew snow could catch fire? We started a little firework party in the backyard and WOOSH my sim caught on fire, and so did Bella Goth and this table full of food. All 13 guests left the party stressed out. No thanks. No winter wishes. Nothing. And that wasn't the first fire either, because somehow the upstairs of the house ended up on fire too. We have fireplaces burning, and it should've been safe as they stay on all night without burning anything. Also the toddlers are very angry. Happy Winter Fest everybody!
(Should I mention the house is a small one? It was VERY CRAMPED!)
@PrincessAmy if you go the vet you can buy wellness treats and hand to any animal you meet without needing to know an owner (works for strays too) even if you are not a vet you can buy the machine and craft them yourself too.
@Daephene approve of Wolfgangs snack. Don't turn her though - think she would enjoy being a vampire waaaayyy too much'.
@SourJaneSims hahahah your simself should meet mine (my avatar) they would be best friends she sneaks food into her inventory and pulls it out and eats it at inappropriate places like the dance floor at the disco with plate and fork in hand.
@HopeyStarr awesome update - waiting for the fairy godmother. I don't trust that stepsister - what on earth is wrong with the dress? ... or will she accuse her of stealing because its pink and that isnt her colour? I love the screenshot of the stepmother's evil laugh.

The house was in disarray when Cindy got back home. It felt like everything was falling apart!
"Anastasia, what exactly were you doing out with Cinderella? Did you think I wouldn't notice?!"
"I've lost my patience with all of this. Stop fooling around with her!"
"Or did you forget that today is the evening of the ball?"
"Don't worry Mother. I know what I'm doing."
"The reason I took her out was... *whisper* whisper*"
Now it all made sense.
When it came to Anastasia truly the apple had not fallen far from the tree.
Lady Tremaine feels bad for doubting one of her seeds.
Even if Cinderella managed to finish all of her chores, thanks to Anastasia that girl will without a doubt NOT be attending the royal ball.
The Ball: Part 9
What a mess...
The sink was broken...
The oven was filthy...
The fridge needed repair...
Argh! It felt like the entire universe was against her!
"Oh Cinderella?"
"Don't forget to clean the coffee maker too. It's a little stained."
"Goodness... How could that have happened so suddenly?"
Maybe it wasn't the universe against her, but certainly the three evil women she was forced to live with.

No matter how many chores they put in her way, Cindy would complete them all!
Even if her skin started to break...
...or her back started to ache, she would finish every last chore and be on time to attend the royal ball!

The time had come to start getting ready for the royal ball.
Cinderella had prepared a winter cake in celebration of the big event.
Her stepfamily enjoyed the treat to the full.
Cindy was wrapping up the last of her chores.
She felt that with the pace she was keeping she would be done just in time to leave with her stepfamily.
Lady Tremaine was confident in knowing that wouldn't be the case.
The Ball: Part 12
The ladies got dressed upstairs...
...as Cinderella cleaned up their plates.
"Are we free to depart my girls?"
It was time to get herself ready!
The Ball: Part 13
Cindy changed out of her clothes in lightning speed.
She was done just as her stepfamily made their way down the steps.
Aha! Just as Anastasia predicted!
Cinderella would finish all her chores and even get fully dressed.
Now Anastasia would initiate the biggest letdown of that poor girl's life!
Drizella was the only one not in on the plan.
"Mother!! Look at Cinderella! You simply cannot allow her to join us at the ball! Give her another chore! Anything!"
"Worry not Drizella. We have it all under control."
"Yeah. Princess over here won't be coming along."
"What are you talking about Anastasia?"
"What am I talking about?! I've decided that pink ISN'T your color after all, that's what!"
"B-but you picked this dress out for me!"
"I know. And that was my mistake."

Yesterday, I wanted to play with some vampires (don't ask me why), so I decided to play with Mr. Vladislaus Straud himself. He was doing really well working on his aspiration... Until he took in too much sunlight and died in the middle of the road. So, no more Vlad...
Then I switched to the Vatore siblings, since I've never actually played with any of them. Lilith is now working in the local hospital and Caleb is a secret agent. Lillith also managed to befriend Clara Bjergsen and transformed her into a vampire.
My intention is for Clara to live with them and to become Caleb's vampire girlfriend/wife. I hope I can make that work.
Sadly, I've got no pictures about everything I wrote here, but I'll try to take pictures of things today.
@IreneLudwig Someone else in this thread said that Jasminder had twins in their game too. It's interesting that it's different for every game.
I think you're right about the character values from their childhood. That's why I'm working so hard at Malcolm, to see if I can make him be a good guy without actually changing his traits in CAS. I should probably turn aging off when I'm using him, or I'll never get to work with any of the other toddlers/kids.
I should have expected that good ol' Don is still a player, I mean, he's still alive and handsome as can be

The date that Poppy took him to sounds like an absolute nightmare!! But then everything took a turn for the better. Ronnie looks so cute with Mom's makeup on, and he's doing well in school!
Poppy did time her kiss to Adrian quite well, poor Michelle. And I really love Poppy's makeover, she is really pretty in that picture, and Haruki looks like a great guy! Maybe he should be the "keeper" lol

Oh my gosh! Your sim has 400k? That home really is lovely, and it sounds like a wonderful location, but holy cow, with that kind of money you could probably get the biggest plot in the game LOL. And have lots of room for greenhouses, if you have Seasons, I hear it's good to have greenhouses.

I always write my updates in a word document, and then copy paste to the forum. Lord, I can't tell you how many Facebook posts I've lost over the years. I just do most of my writing somewhere safer now. Unless it's just a sentence or two.
I'm writing this in my notebook app on my phone right now, while holding my iPad with our thread open, lol. That's the only way I can keep track.

And then, oh my God, J is right, isn't that him that leaves people at the altar? How did you get her to make that expression when she was looking out into the audience and seeing Brock?? I can't think what kind of interaction that would be that would make her do that, it sure is absolutely perfect here!

Would it help you decide if I tell you that a lot of people love Sims 3 except for the actual game play? Which sounds as if it is very laggy, and buggy, and difficult.
I can't say so for myself, because I never did get to play it. I skipped from 2 to 4.
Anyway, I really love the butler idea, but it will be interesting to see whether or not Salim still calls her and comes over.
@MissSnowDrop91 One time I used a young adult Sim who was quite overweight, and she worked out a lot, and ate only salad, and after a while she was so skinny she almost looked sick. But she got some sort of special trait, because she went from the biggest Body type possible, to the smallest, I wish I could remember what it was called. But your sim Sasha is really going quickly through her aspirations! That's awesome, and I hope she finds a nice partner to have a child with.

Did everybody live through the fire? It sounds like it. Fires in this game are just ridiculous. I always make sure that there are smoke alarms, and if possible an entire alarm system, in every house.

Sheesh! Thatβs crazy, I thought Vlad was already immune to sunlight when you got to him. I don't have the vampire pack, but I read a lot about it after reading all the stories here in the thread. It's kind of funny that Lilith is working in a hospital! And now that I think about it, a secret agent would be a great job for a vampire!

@HopeyStarr thank you - i am unwell in bed today and your update was the pickup I needed. I have discovered you're never too old to cheer when the fairy godmother (who is the most awesome sim) appears. Love how you made her magic glow. Very clever. And I sung the whole song as I read.
@Alwaysasking thanks - I laughed to myself when the little phone icon started buzzing and it was Fabian - talk about timing from the game (its a bit bad when even the game thinks you maybe shouldn't be marrying J.) The sunlight around Brock was a gift from the game gods - I didn't pause to take a screenshot just snapped one off when I saw him - and voila solar flare - would never work if I intentionally did it. I think Alana's facial expression comes from an interaction with the wedding arch that J. has eluded to. I am not sure what triggered it but I wish I did so I could repeat it with other sims. So when I saw her do it I paused and shot it from all angles. Alana is ultra expressive because of her oversize features i enjoy photographing her. The game was really messing up - no guests I invited arrived initially - it was all strangers. Had to call and invite each person I actually wanted to hangout at lot. And Brock I had to invite 5 times before he showed (no he wasn't at work I purposely picked a time that suited him and J.) She also spent forever chasing Brock around the lot so I could screenshot them talking before the wedding but he didn't seem to want to be alone with her, and everyone else wanted to be in her face. At least I don't make lets play videos because in screenshots it looks great but as far as smooth play went it was a frustrating disaster.
Malcolm Landgraab was feeling kind of sad. He was afraid that his friend, Peony, only wanted to be friends, and he wanted more than that.
His little brothers' nanny, Miss Heather, was the one that had first introduced Malcolm and Peony. So Malcolm decided to ask her if Peony had said anything about him.
βI really like her,β Malcolm admitted. βBut I don't know how she feels about me. She really liked playing with my little brothers at the park, but I'm not sure if she would go somewhere with just me. What do you think?β
Miss Heather wisely said, "You aren't going to know until you ask her, are you? And I think that she would"
"Really? Malcolm said, "Okay I'm going to ask her right now!"
Peony did say yes! She told Malcolm that she would meet him up on the bluffs, so that they could spend some time together without his brothers or his parents around.
This was the first time that they were together somewhere private. But Peony explained to Malcolm that her mother had only said yes to this outing if Malcolm agreed to come home with her to meet her mother afterwards.
"I already told her that you will, I hope that's okay? Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to come here," she said.
"Sure! It's fine," Malcolm said. But actually he was a little bit nervous. He had a hard time getting along with most people. Which was why he was so happy to be with Peony, because she seemed to like him just the way he was.
They just spent their time together talking, and eventually Peony invited Malcolm to hold her hands.
In a spoiler because it's picture heavy
He was afraid that it would be awkward, but it wasn't. Holding Peony's hands felt very natural, and really really nice.
He stammered a little, but was able to get out a few words about how he felt about her. "You're so pretty," he said. "I feel like I just always want to be around you." It wasn't even close to everything he wanted to tell her.
But she told him, "I really like to be around you too." And he was too excited to say anything else.
It wasn't very long before Peony told Malcolm that her mother was expecting them very soon. He was disappointed, but he told himself that once he got past this hurdle, he and Peony could be together as much as they wanted.

"See," Peony quietly said. "That wasn't so bad was it?"
Malcolm had stammered his way through an introduction to Peony's mother. It turned out that Peony's mother was Baako Jang's wife's sister, and they lived right across the hall from Baako and his family.

Malcolm laughed. "Has she actually done that?" He asked her.
"Oh yeah," Peony said. "At our old house she didn't like one boy that kept asking me out. But I didn't really want to go out with him anyway, and I think she might have known that. After she sent him home he didn't ever ask me to go out again."
She and Malcolm laughed some more.
"I don't think we should be sitting on the bed together if she comes in to check on us though," Peony said.
"Oh, okay," Malcolm said. "What should we do then?"
"Oh, I don't know," Peony said. "Maybe we should just dance or something. I think as long as I leave the door open she'll probably only check on us once."
"Don't you remember?" Malcolm said. "I'm not really a very good dancer."
"You dance just fine Malcolm," Peony said. "Youβre just too stiff about it. You have to relax. Don't worry about what other people think about your dancing. They're all worried about how they look themselves."
So he tried to loosen up, and he actually did pretty well. Peony was very encouraging.

@AlwaysAsking lol yeah the money sort of just built up. Making arrangements for the work at home alone can give up to almost 9k, pretty nuts. I wasn't actually trying or even looking at the finances, then suddenly I was super wealthy. I mean with that home, the rent is so cheap too. Also, all the things I produce in my little garden actually sells rather well too, as I've gathered all the good plants I need.
Gardening is really, really fun as well. You upgrade the plants and feels more like you actually do the work and earn the money.
Well, I temporarily abandoned my Legacy Challenge to try the Survival Challenge (link in my signature), and right after getting engaged, my main sims now fiancee DIED. So I moved in his little sister. Oh, and did I mention that my girl, Maya (the main sim), was PREGNANT!?

@AlwaysAsking Even when I'm playing the mansion household, I usually don't play Vlad himself. So he wears whatever form he wants. Some sims seem to default to staying in dark form, like Wolfgang if I don't change him back. Cordelia almost always turns back as soon as she's done using vampire powers. Maybe it's a mean thing?
Anyway, love your trip into the teenage male brain. Malcolm and Peony are adorable.
@Becka28 No worries, I'm using single sims only for the vampires! Most likely in a generation or two I'll age up Malcolm to marry into one of my households and Nancy and Geoffrey will be aged up and end their days in the retirement village. At least that's been my trend so far.

@Butterfreeguy Enjoy your vampires! I have a goal in this particular save to eventually use every premade sim. Originally this meant marrying them into my households or aging them up and putting them in the retirement village, but I've recently added turning some into vampires and killing some off to eventually make them playable ghosts. Otherwise it was going to take me forever, plus I get more supernatural play this way.

The twins had their birthday and are now toddlers. Three toddlers at the same time is so tricky to manage ;-; but they're adorable!

They finally saved up enough money to move to a bigger house. (Also thanks to money tree, yass!)
With the new house they have four spacious bedrooms, so enough space for their four kids! ;3
And this is the first house in which they have actual enough space for the piano! In the other two I really had to squeeze it in. π
On a sadder note, granddad Geoffry passed away. All of the household is now grieving. RIP mr. Landgraab!

Then I switched to the Vatore siblings, since I've never actually played with any of them. Lilith is now working in the local hospital and Caleb is a secret agent. Lillith also managed to befriend Clara Bjergsen and transformed her into a vampire.
My intention is for Clara to live with them and to become Caleb's vampire girlfriend/wife. I hope I can make that work.
Sadly, I've got no pictures about everything I wrote here, but I'll try to take pictures of things today.

I think you're right about the character values from their childhood. That's why I'm working so hard at Malcolm, to see if I can make him be a good guy without actually changing his traits in CAS. I should probably turn aging off when I'm using him, or I'll never get to work with any of the other toddlers/kids.

@MissSnowDrop91 One time I used a young adult Sim who was quite overweight, and she worked out a lot, and ate only salad, and after a while she was so skinny she almost looked sick. But she got some sort of special trait, because she went from the biggest Body type possible, to the smallest, I wish I could remember what it was called. But your sim Sasha is really going quickly through her aspirations! That's awesome, and I hope she finds a nice partner to have a child with.

@Alwaysasking thanks - I laughed to myself when the little phone icon started buzzing and it was Fabian - talk about timing from the game (its a bit bad when even the game thinks you maybe shouldn't be marrying J.) The sunlight around Brock was a gift from the game gods - I didn't pause to take a screenshot just snapped one off when I saw him - and voila solar flare - would never work if I intentionally did it. I think Alana's facial expression comes from an interaction with the wedding arch that J. has eluded to. I am not sure what triggered it but I wish I did so I could repeat it with other sims. His little brothers' nanny, Miss Heather, was the one that had first introduced Malcolm and Peony. So Malcolm decided to ask her if Peony had said anything about him.

Peony did say yes! She told Malcolm that she would meet him up on the bluffs, so that they could spend some time together without his brothers or his parents around.
This was the first time that they were together somewhere private. But Peony explained to Malcolm that her mother had only said yes to this outing if Malcolm agreed to come home with her to meet her mother afterwards.
"I already told her that you will, I hope that's okay? Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to come here," she said.
"Sure! It's fine," Malcolm said. But actually he was a little bit nervous. He had a hard time getting along with most people. Which was why he was so happy to be with Peony, because she seemed to like him just the way he was.
They just spent their time together talking, and eventually Peony invited Malcolm to hold her hands.
In a spoiler because it's picture heavy
He stammered a little, but was able to get out a few words about how he felt about her. "You're so pretty," he said. "I feel like I just always want to be around you." It wasn't even close to everything he wanted to tell her.
But she told him, "I really like to be around you too." And he was too excited to say anything else.
It wasn't very long before Peony told Malcolm that her mother was expecting them very soon. He was disappointed, but he told himself that once he got past this hurdle, he and Peony could be together as much as they wanted.

Malcolm had stammered his way through an introduction to Peony's mother. It turned out that Peony's mother was Baako Jang's wife's sister, and they lived right across the hall from Baako and his family.
"I guess it wasn't that bad," Malcolm whispered. "It sure made me nervous though. If she doesn't like me are we still going to be able to see each other?"
"Oh, she likes you," Peony said. "Don't worry about it, if she didn't like you she'd of made you leave."
Malcolm laughed. "Has she actually done that?" He asked her.
"Oh yeah," Peony said. "At our old house she didn't like one boy that kept asking me out. But I didn't really want to go out with him anyway, and I think she might have known that. After she sent him home he didn't ever ask me to go out again."
She and Malcolm laughed some more.
"I don't think we should be sitting on the bed together if she comes in to check on us though," Peony said.
"Oh, okay," Malcolm said. "What should we do then?"
"Oh, I don't know," Peony said. "Maybe we should just dance or something. I think as long as I leave the door open she'll probably only check on us once."
"Don't you remember?" Malcolm said. "I'm not really a very good dancer."
"You dance just fine Malcolm," Peony said. "Youβre just too stiff about it. You have to relax. Don't worry about what other people think about your dancing. They're all worried about how they look themselves."
So he tried to loosen up, and he actually did pretty well. Peony was very encouraging.
And she was right, her mother did peek into her room to see what they were doing.
When she saw that Peony was trying to help Malcolm dance she smiled. They looked very cute together, Malcolm seemed like the kind of boy that would do just about anything for her little girl. And that was fine by her.
After she left the room Peony grabbed Malcolm, and pulled him up close to her. She was hoping that he would get the hint that they might only have a short time alone.
He got the hint.
And wanted it to never endβ¦β¦β¦..

Although, as sentient as your game seems to be, it might have been his way of saying, "I really don't want to watch Alana marry someone else." lol

Oh, editing... I'm not sure what's going to happen with Malcolm and Peony. It can't all be rose petals and sunshine... although I already have a bunch more pictures of them together, and it's all sweet, lol

@HopeyStarr I have no idea how you get the facial expressions you do, but I love them.
@AlwaysAsking Even when I'm playing the mansion household, I usually don't play Vlad himself. So he wears whatever form he wants. Some sims seem to default to staying in dark form, like Wolfgang if I don't change him back. Cordelia almost always turns back as soon as she's done using vampire powers. Maybe it's a mean thing?
Anyway, love your trip into the teenage male brain. Malcolm and Peony are adorable.
@Becka28 No worries, I'm using single sims only for the vampires! Most likely in a generation or two I'll age up Malcolm to marry into one of my households and Nancy and Geoffrey will be aged up and end their days in the retirement village. At least that's been my trend so far.

@Butterfreeguy Enjoy your vampires! I have a goal in this particular save to eventually use every premade sim. Originally this meant marrying them into my households or aging them up and putting them in the retirement village, but I've recently added turning some into vampires and killing some off to eventually make them playable ghosts. Otherwise it was going to take me forever, plus I get more supernatural play this way.

With the new house they have four spacious bedrooms, so enough space for their four kids! ;3
And this is the first house in which they have actual enough space for the piano! In the other two I really had to squeeze it in. π
On a sadder note, granddad Geoffry passed away.
