What town should I buy from the store?

«1
I have enough simpoints for one town from the store.
I already have Sunlit Tides, Riverview, and Lucky Palms (without the casino or exclusive items, just the standard version).

All of them seem very interesting and seem to have their own pros and cons.

Even after watching LGR's reviews on the towns, I still cannot make up my mind.

So help me out here! What town should I get?

    Monte Vista
Have you checked Origin for the world bundles? Perhaps they'd be a better price.

If I had to pick though I'd say....either Monte Vista, because Pizza and Italy, plus big world, or.....Aurora Skies.

    Dragon Valley
They all have their good points, it really depends on what you like as surroundings. I voted for Dragon Valley because, although I use it for a vacation world (NRaas Traveler mod) rather than a homeworld, I like the way it was done, the resident sims are interesting to me, and I've never had any game performance issues with it. Oh, and baby dragons are really cute. :)

For me Monte Vista would come in second. Hidden Springs is also very pretty, but I've only ever used it as a testing ground for mods and not a world in an active game. Sunlit Tides would also be high on my list, and Riverview tops them all with no argument, but as you said you already have those.

    Aurora Skies
I like them all, but Aurora Skies is a favourite, partly because I played a loved longrunning save there. The nature and architecture is very much like it looks in a lot of Scandinavian places; the sims all love the outdoors, as well as having other good traits; there is a gay family and other interesting potential relation constellations; and it is very beautiful. To me
It is great for raising children, but there is no need to buy the Learning Center; the premium items can be bought as stand alones I think; and the ballon is good for woohoo, but that’s all.

Monte Vista would be my second choice, for the warm light; and Dragon Valley, for, well, the dragons.

Monte Vista  So pretty of a town and the premade homes are so cute. The pizza oven may be the only premium content but ever since it debuted has been a must in every house and overall awesome for adding variety in foods.Probably one of the most beautiful sim outfits comes with it too and many many simmers use it as a wedding dress even though can be everyday.

A benefit is that it has 20 empty lots perfect for giving it your own touch and most empty lots are gorgeous spots.Three are big sized a 64x64 a 60x60 and a 50x50 important because the Last Venue of Amore fits the theme perfectly as does the Villa Paraiso featured look premade store lot

Also notable items are the pretty red poppy plants for landscaping and cute window boxes which I believe are the ones have recolorable flowers and the outfit perfect for making Amish Male Sims.Video below using the outfit to make a Amish sim.

Be aware, if you like seasons and snow, that Aurora Skies does have a problem with displaying snow on the ground. It looks like flat grey ice rather than normal snow. Apart from that, the town is really very lovely.

Both Dragon Valley and Monte Vista are absolutely gorgeous worlds, and both have a beautiful and amazing array of community rabbitholes. I would find it difficult to choose between them if I had to, but I find myself playing in Monte Vista more than I do in DV.

The scenery is beautiful. If you have the Island Paradise EP, your sims might enjoy fishing off a boat. If you have the Supernatural EP, this world is fitting for a fairy.

Also, there's just something about the intense green grass in HS that I like. :D

Oh man, that radioactive grass.... haha. I remember the first time I opened the world, and nearly died :D
What I love about HS is the rocky shallows around the lake. I love that, instead of seeing sand or dirt.
    I didn't vote sorry, because I couldn't choose!

If you are into more realisitic style play I agree on Monte Vista. If you like playing a big more unrealistic with occults than Dragon Valley is a beautiful world. Midnight Hollow is fun too for out of the box play style, but way too dark without a lighting mod. Lunar Lakes is fun if you want them to go 'off world'. I'd say it depends on your style of play and you didn't really comment on that in your OP. I have them all and they all have good points as you say. Its fun to change up and do something different in a different style world though.

I love roaring heights because of the roaring twenties feel to it, but you can't go wrong with any of them.My least favorite is barnacle bay though.

    Roaring Heights
I enjoyed Roaring Heights the most.
One of my sim stories took place there.
    Screenshot-270.jpg

    Screenshot-275.jpg

I don't care for the downtown area itself as the buildings are not like Bridgeport apartments.
I mostly use the regular house lots for my sims and I use the community lots in the downtown area.

I particularly love the fixer upper car that comes with it.
You can work on it for handiness skills and sell for a nice amount of Simoleons, or just keep it.
Your sims can romance in it, listen to music while they drive around town. It's the best car in the game as far as game play goes.

This is what I did with the town.
-Added a large farm with the Grand Pa's grove set. It's nice to have you country sims head to the big city for entertainment.
-Had an awesome Old Money mansion outside of town to contrast with the New Money Art Deco theme.
-Put in that large amusement park lot
-Added one of the Island Paradise vacation resorts.
-Put in mooring post for boats.
-Put in a Casino for more entertainment

I have a link here that will take you a page in one of my threads that will show you my sim on a series of dates around town.
You can see what I added to the place to make it more fun.

Monte vista because, as many people have said the world is just gorgeous! It also has one of my favorite town squares and the houses are beautiful. I will warn that most yards around the house are quite small, but that’s really the only black mark against it.

And no need for a special lighting mod, Monte Vista comes with its own magical light!

    Roaring Heights
It was a tough choice between Roaring Heights and Monte Vista. For me it would be Roaring Heights because I love the deco period. It is a very attractive world and you can have additional fun with the Boardwalk venue.

Of the others I am only now beginning to explore Dragon Valley. Again it is very scenic but the yellow taxi cabs are really out of place. The community lots in this world are well done and very attractive. Not too keen on the dragon gameplay, I would have preferred a full size version :D Another one which is visually very pretty is Hidden Springs but I use it more for building than gameplay.

One I would hesitate to get again is Midnight Hollow. Even though it brought business gameplay and some really good build objects, it is very poorly lit which makes gameplay uncomfortable if you have a visual impairment.
I no longer use Origin or My Page. You can find me on YouTube or Twitter as Bettyboop711000. You are welcome to contact me as I explore options for a PC sandbox life simulation game.

    Dragon Valley
I voted for Dragon Valley, because it adds some medieval touch to the game. If you purchase the gold edition, you´ll get The Duke of Bows Renaissance Faire which adds the violin as a new instrument to learn, my Sims always have to learn this skill! And the new building objects help you, if you want to build some more older houses.
But I like all the other worlds as well, because every one of them have their own feeling when staying there!

@Pary : according to Aurora Skies and the awful snow: there is a mod out there by Potato Ballad Sims which changed the environment so that the snow is white as normal again. It can be found here: https://potato-ballad-sims.tumblr.com/post/177355341248/i-always-thought-aurora-skies-was-one-of-the
I´m playing with the fixed version and don´t have problems with it. And I don´t have problems with stuck Sims in the middle of nowhere in the mountains north of the town anymore!

I chose Monte Vista because it's beautiful and I love the warm lighting. Because cooking is a large part of my sims' lives, the woodfire oven is also a welcome addition.

@AlexaKry , I love jje's stuff, and I've tried their fixed version of AS, but I didn't want the few added extras that came with it though. I like the world the way it is. I just turn off snow when I play in there.

Thank you for pointing the fixed world out though, because someone else who would prefer to have AS with snow might see it, when they otherwise might not have :)

I like Hidden Springs and Roaring Heights best. Aurora Skies used to be a favorite of mine as well.

Hidden Springs is a beautiful world. I love all the greenery and the cabins.

I've only recently purchased Roaring Heights and haven't played any sims there yet, but it surprised me. It's just so beautiful and you'd be amazed seeing how many awesome lots for art deco you can find on the exchange thanks to this world. Plop them all down and your world will be ready for everything!

Hidden Springs seems very nice to me and tbh I don't have much experiences in the other worlds, but Roaring Heights has more good looking

Can't vote because I can't decide. Each world has it's own unique value and becomes number 1 on my list as I play that save. When I move to another world/save... *that* world becomes my fav. Although... I think I start games most often in Moonlight Falls. Good luck deciding! lol

I'm excited to see the world I've been seriously considering getting in the lead. I'd love to use Traveler to go there for a holiday!

Out of the worlds you don't have yet, Hidden Springs is the prettiest one you can buy for simpoints (MV, RH and DV can only be bought for real money!)

Yeah, the probably so. I've tried all the store worlds, but mostly sampling them.
I liked Roaring Heights enough to play it for a much longer time.

I am giving Monte Vista another spin from what I've read here.
I have been wanting to play a multi-generational nectar making family. I've already been in Monte Vista to plop down a few lots.

The founder will start from scratch, but should be in this home before or by the time he is an elder.
His children will go on to buy the huge mansion.

This townie is just testing the tractor path.
    Screenshot-1161.jpg

The ultimate home will be the one I used in Roaring Heights.
They will buy the property next door for farming, horse riding, and stables.

Love those houses, CK - but then you always have such gorgeous builds. My interest has been piqued for Monte Vista as well due to the posts in this thread - can't remember the last time I played there. Guess I'll just have to copy you and start a new save. :)
