I would love to have the ability to take family pictures or make portraits where the parents are together with their children and/or pets in different poses. Maybe stick them all in a photo booth and we can choose a picture? I would also very much love to be able to place those pictures on sidetables or shelves, similar to what we had in TS2 and have multiple options for the frames (not just colors but also styles, like more modern or fancy or rustic).
artistic sims could do a nice paint job for the car.
design and fabricate parts.
Architect
Freelance or everyday job
Graphic Design skill
Draw up plans for clients either physically or digitally.
Create 3d models for clients (my sims love playing with that clay and the buildems blocks)
Sims can suggest changes to their own house that the player can then choose to listen to or not. Example: We might actually wash our dishes in the kitchen sink rather than the bathroom sink if you put it here.
Tech Guru:
I know it exists already but wouldn't you love if your sims could build a computer from scratch? I know I would.
A New skill set specific to Computer tech, networking (I haven't really thought too much on this one yet, I would just like new skills.)
Designing new Hardware and Software. It's not all about gaming.
Scientist:
This just needs all around improvement in my opinion.
A 3D printer. this could be useful for a few careers.
And lastly -until I think of more ideas- Bring back the school teacher job, please.
I would love that kids and teens marks in school started to matter somehow, in instance A students would have different career opportunities than C. And with this I could mean different access to some levels/Carrers, or seeing your job application be rejected... I don't know. I just feel that marks mean nothing right now cause it doesn't matter how much you've studied, everyone will be accepted in any job. How do we want an education pack if it will be the same ol same ol'
A memory system almost like TS2! I don't like how sims go through major life events, only get buffs for a day, then forget it ever happened. I want them to sometimes think back and remember good and bad events that have happened through their lives.
I think it would be sooooo cool for SIMS 4 GET FAMOUS PACK to feature more options for the video-recording station! Because youtube is such a HUUUUUGE part nowadays. Such as video gamers/streaming, mukbang, singers/performers, reactors, etc.
Though of the day : need more cas options.
When creating an adult, he/she is starting from zero. Wouldn't he have gone to school, learned skill ?
Would be nice to be able to define starting level for skills.
Ok, my sim just got struck by lightning and all I could think was... what superpower did she get?? it would be so cool even if it was temporary.
Can we get an option to reset the skills of library households for new games? or just keep library households as blank slates.
I have many wishes for the sims 4. But most of all I wish for foundations to be able too connect to walls. The way they did in sims3. The fact that that's not an option at this point (considering how long we had too wait for terrein manipulation), I fine really disappointing. If that is not an option with the sims4, I really hope you guys find it possible and necessary too add it to the sims 5! Other than that I love the sims, and will always love and appriciate the work you do!

And same for money.
Wow! Great thought, don't know why I haven't ever thought the same thing!
I bought the cats and dogs expansion with the expectation of becoming a vet. However, it is frustrating to find out that I cannot treat my own pets or strays in my vet clinic or at home. I found similar complaints somewhere in the forum about two years ago but so far it has not been fixed. It is important to allow players who wants to be a vet to cure their own pets and also strays. A true vet in real life can surely treat their own pets! Also, as animal lovers (pretty sure all players who bought cats and dogs expansion love animals), nothing is more fulfilling than being able to treat and care for our pets and also strays.
I would like my "Saved" families in "My Library" to be in the "not in world" choices when I start a new game and not get some Gallery Sim(s) chosen for me there or filling lots. They could replace those NPCs and at least I would recognise them wandering about!
Frustrations after playing from the beginning!
A sewing machine would complete the look in the fashion designer studio I made for one of my sims in the stylist career. I pretend she's a fashion designer.
not sure if its been mentioned but id like the ability to choose who has a day off in my calendar. i created school holidays, so id like the option for only school to be a day off instead of both school and work.

I totally agree with this. Vets should be able to treat strays and their own pets. A lot of really exciting gameplay challenges could be made if this was possible. I began to create one, but it was impossible when the cat and dog hangout option for the lot is active. The amount of pets that inundate you when your lot has the cats and dogs hangout option is way, way, waaaay too many! If my Sims wanted to adopt strays, there is no way in the Sims World that this is possible with the amount of strays that come by at these lots or invade your Sims home. You can lock them out but then they just hang around barking, meowing and howling. Something really needs to be done about this and soon.
The other thing that I'm sure has been mentioned before, probably by me and many other Simmers is please lets get farming animals and the farming career and skills. It has been requested by that many Simmers, I'd love to see that activated as a main expansion pack.
New ways to make money from home.
New Skills that can make money
Hobbies and crafts (that you can create and make money by selling).
Home businesses. :P.
Would love more games and interactions that families can play in the pool, like another Simmer suggested here with pictures (Page 46).
More family interactions between siblings and children (all ages) and their parents. Dancing on feet, tag, cops and robbers, hop-scotch.
Tree houses. More outdoor playground objects. (Merry-go-round, slides, sandboxes, teeter-totter / see-saw, etc)
These are just a few things off the top of my head. More generational game-play. Just would love to see more game-play that feels full and really makes an impact on my Sims.

Ditto. Love the idea of farming animals too! By the way, I found a link with custom content farm animals by Severinka. (Ah..I cannot yet post link as I am new to the forum, but you can try search it)
I wish choosing a freelancer career would still allow you to have other careers. I want to branch out, but I know I would be making very little money at first so I wish I could still make some money on a side from time to time
so we can easily move babies to living room or wherever we're spending more time, so it doesn't feel like babies are just being locked out in a dark room all the time.
Spiral Stairs, Ladders, L- and U-shaped Stairs, Stairs on corners, Stairs with different Weidth on top and bottom, maybe with sliders similar to the new roof tool
More matching swatches for Windows, Doors and Counters
Different wall sizes on one floor. Now that basements of different buildings on a lot can have different sizes it would be great if wall sizes were seperated as well. Would prefer being able to have different heights on one building though
Pond tool, water falls
Adding the terrain paints and world objects from the different packs to the catalogue, similar to how the stuff from Strangeville was added
Round walls, pools
more grungy, broken down look for floors and wall paint. Windows that look like there is a hole in the wall or make it look like the wall is collapsed. Broken doors and windows. Homes with those items could give a negative moodlet
Plants that keep growing on walls/floors (like ivy) unless a Sim trims them. If getting out of controll they could block doors or other useable objects.
Windows that can be opened or at least look like they are open
Activity
more Playground equipment like Sandbox, Treehouse, Merry-go-around, Slides
Canning, needs a Pot that has to be placed on a stove
Taking group pictures
Kids/Teens being able to collect stickers and put them on furniture
More Pool activities like floaties, pool bar and water sports
Managing a Hotel/Resort
Skiing, hiking and climbing in an alpine world
Surfing, playing in the waves/on the beach, sunbathing in a "beach" world. Instead of the generic Hawaiian themed world this could look like Greece/Italy, Morocco/Egypt or Thailand/Phillipines
Renovating. Sims could add new wallpapers to torn ones. Add new paint to faded doors/windows. Repair broken doors/windows, floors, furniture. Salvaging broken furniture and turn components into new stuff. Instead of new skill it could train Handiness.

Cabinets with build in Microwave and oven
seperated oven and range, for example a cheap small hotplate for poor Sims
tablecloths, as normal objects for different surfaces and/or as option for SIms to add to a dining table
adding photos taken by a Sim to a surface and not only on a wall
trashcompactor
being able to place washing machine and dryer under a counter
more sizes for paintings/photos a Sim creates, for example panorama pictures
slotted stoves, pots/pans to be used on these slots
decorative stacked plates, cups, glases, bowls, etc for all surfaces
decorative vegetables, fruits, meats etc. In groups and a looking like they are being prepared, for example on a cutting board or in bowls. Basically the cooking items hidden in buydebug, but placeable without disappearing once a lot is placed.
empty bowls, baskets or similar that can be filled with produce from gardening
placing photos on the pinboard from basegame, not only the postcards
Painting on normal paper instead of a canvas. With the new graphic tablet maybe add an option to change between a print or a canvas of the painting, Smaller prints could also be added to the pinboard
All frame colors with all bedding colors of a bed
normal sized baking machine (maybe one to add to a cabinet), microscope and telescope
