Sims 3 sims are dull and robotic - they don't all have stepford smiles ! That means they have no "emoshuns" ! Plus, the game doesn't have a big sign letting you know how they're feeling. Therefore they do not feel !
One of my favorite screenshots. This is from my very first legacy, way back in 2012 (when I first discovered the idea). I stopped at the birth of generation five, but this is generation two. The little girl is Kelly, and her father is George (spouse of the founder). I'm shocked I remember their names.
I think I like it so much because from a real-life perspective, it's a precious thing. I'd love to capture a shot like this if my boyfriend and I had real children.

This thread was originally created a couple of years ago as a response to an essay written about how incredibly dull TS3 is and how no one should be playing it. I'm not going to bother finding it now, when it landed on this forum board it wasn't exactly greeted with open arms. But as I recall it didn't entirely dissolve into rounds of temper tantrums either. We are more open-minded and maybe we are deluding ourselves, but we like to think we are bit better than that as a community overall over here.
(checks the rule book) Nope, it doesn't say that one isn't allowed to play both games, and even TS2, etc., appreciating each one for what it is, if one has the hardware to support all that we wish to throw at it and the patience to nurture games not originally designed for today's operating environments along a bit.
(closes the door and whispers quietly) But TS3 is still the better game. And I will deny saying that on an open channel if anyone challenges it. (opens door again)
