That was a great idea. Are you thinking of a tournament or something?

I'm okay with most of these themes!

I just want the story to be more flexible, optional, and not the only thing to do in the pack. Especially if it only takes a couple of hours to solve.

None. I don't want any story packs ever again.

I literally thought the same thing. So much this.

    Castaway
I like most but a castaway one has some great potential. Like say the island you get lost on is part of a group of islands and when you sail off yours you might meet other sims on other islands. You could team up or become enemies, who knows. Maybe some are more treaterous or peaceful than others.
Hammocks and lounge chairs would be amazing. maybe they could make them using the same animation. Maybe they could use that to make rocking chairs and benches.
And with seasons Id hope for some really bad hurricane force winds that can wash away stuff closest to shore or give bad sunburn.
ooh maybe they could have a hidden world like sylvan glade that you can boat to like under a waterfall or something and inside its a total tropical oasis.

    Pirates
Check out my signature for my pirate pack idea!

I wouldn't necessarily want a story pack that has a linear storyline. If you've played it once, you've seen it all. That's boring. I would, however, like more packs that otherwise wouldn't fit into a "realistic" theme (ex. Seasons, Generations etc).
These packs are kind of like mini-games within the game for when you want to mix things up, but it stays contained within that world so you don't have to worry about weird themes taking over your "normal" saves.

Post-Apocalypse would be very fun and a challenging, different-every-time "story" to play out. There would be certain story elements, like pre-made factions, ways to create a good or bad "new world," radioactive llamas to destroy/cure etc, but you'd still have the freedom to simply enjoy playing in that world in whatever way tickles your fancy.

I'd also love a Castaway theme, as it would add a lot of fun survival gameplay that can be carried over to any other survival or historic save I can think of. Also, who doesn't want to create their own society on a shipwrecked island?

Classic murder mystery (Agatha Christie style)
Curious if the people voting for Castaway want that option for the island theme rather than the potential mystery?

I think a randomised Murder Mystery Weekend as a vacation option would be awesome. It could work kind of like the board game Cluedo (Clue in US) with random killer (or accident), location and method. Visititng sims could socialise with eachother/NPCs to exchange clues (share one of their clues in exchange for a new one) and gain access to new areas/interaction based on currently held clues.

It would be different each time with more replayability that Strangerville.

    That was hard to choose!

I'd really like something like Castaway but I'd prefer it to be part of a big expansion pack like Island Paradise for TS3 because I'd want a lot of content for it.

And I'd really like a magic themed pack as well. But again, I'd hope it would be an expansion and I would want a lot of freedom to do my own thing with it (so not story based).

So I chose the Murder Mystery. I really love Agatha Christie and I think a story pack with that theme would be really fun. It would have great clothes and BB too. I'd just hope that the outcome would be randomised (like Cluedo/Clue) so it would have replay value.

I think a survival/apocalypse type pack could be interesting as well.

And I think a Romance based story pack could also be useful. It could expand on weddings, give us more romance interactions and give us things like matchmaking services and stag/hen parties. Like a 'Hot Date' pack with a wedding at the end.

Honestly, I would prefer more open-ended gameplay rather than story packs -- they seem compelling, but I can't see myself being that invested once I finish the story. If the packs could find some middle ground that could satisfy both types of players, the murder mystery or space themes sound exciting.

I was thinking of offering extreme sports - let teens up compete and get good enough for perhaps a tournament of sorts (like summer or winter Olympics) at the end of the season. Sims could also get jobs training, coaching, and teaching sims in these sports.

Mystery from outer space - alien story
I chose mystery out of space as you can combine time travel with future and aliens.

    Castaway
I chose the Castaway theme. I love the idea of an island world as a getaway destination to add to the vacation worlds we have now. Although, I feel this theme would do much better as an expansion pack so every aspect of island living could be better implemented. Sorry, but I am still in love with all the ocean elements we have in Sims3. And even though I know the detail we have in Sims3 cannot be duplicated fully in Sims4, I think it would be enough to satisfy me. But before the island can be civilized and beach loving Sims can explore it, someone has to find a way to escape for the entire Sim population to know it exists. Three resorts for our Sims to stay at, each one more expensive and offering better amenities ( but I don't care about owning and managing one because that never seemed to go well in Sims3), sandy beaches for sunbathing, building sandcastles with the kids, swimming, and perhaps snorkelling. New foods and recipes that have an island touch. And souveniers Sims can buy at little storefronts owned by the locals. Mail postcards to Sim friends. But for all of these things to magically fall into place, our Sim has to survive and escape before the island becomes a vacation destination. Explore the ancient temple to learn the history of the island and get a ' World Traveler' trait that gives Sims a discount at the resorts and on food and beverages purchased from the locals. Our Sims from Get Famous would be able to travel there and not be bothered by fans or the paparazzi. The storytelling in this type of pack would be on going and not confined to simply finding a way back to civilization.

None. I think we should be given our own tools to tell our own stories be it turn ons turn off, crush, hates this Sim option in CAS and enhance the traits and reactions to things around them so our Sims behave differently. A story that's fun to play once like Strangerville is not worth it with what little content we do get.
Sims 4 went from "You Rule" to "One of the stories we want you to tell"

I was thinking that this could tie into an island pack of any sort, but a marine biologist career that has a story line where you get to the highest point and in order to discover a new species you must journey to the deepest part of the ocean and then you must defeat a boss, like the Kraken or something. Just an idea! Feel free to add to this if you want.

    Into The Present :

Prehistoric sims escape from the Time Machine.
In order to stop the chaos and save the whole history of the Simanity, you have to bring them back in their era.

    Pirates
Pirates could take place on a livable tropical world with a secret cave you can explore to set off the adventure. Could come with things people have been wanting like swimmable oceans, beach lots, maybe even mermaids. I can't see how mermaids would fill an entire game pack on their own so a pirate pack could be a good fit. I also want a tropical vacation world but wouldn't object to also having a livable one.

Secret agent/spy stuff would be my second choice. They could introduce freelance spies and private investigators with all kinds of gadgets for solving mysteries. The everyday to that job might be similar to the detective career from GTW, but there could also be a big plot with a few different endings that you could initiate when you wanted to.

Castaway as it might force them to add swimming, mermaids, water tools, monkeys and coconuts! Any other Supernatural creatures should be in an EP.

Secret agents, high tech crime stuff
I'm totally into secret agents, so I would buy a pack like that on its release day. It kind of annoys me that the base game secret agent career is just like all the others, not even any more difficult, and everyone can apply for it. The one from StrangerVille at least requires you to go through five levels of boot camp first, but even that is only a semi-active career. I want to actively play with my spies, and if there's an interesting story involved as well, all the better.

I'm not sure how a full-fledged apocalypse could be incorporated; it would have to be contained to one world, like the StrangerVille mystery, so as not to interfere with other stories, but then it would be weird to see sims from that world hanging around in other places. The pack, if done well, would also have to come with so many new features that a single EP simply wouldn't cut it, not by TS4 standards anyway, let alone a GP.

A Magic Mystery pack would probably either require witches and therefore become another DLC for a DLC, or introduce witches itself, but seriously tone down their gameplay in favour of the story. So while I also like those ideas, I don't think they would work very well.

I feel they should have made strangerville a spin-off. I like making my own stories, or if they are going to add stories make them open-ended that part of why I play the sims. I think I would have liked strangerville a lot more if they had made it its own game rather than piggybacked off the base game.

Apocalypse - a fight for survival before you can rebuild the world
I love the idea of the Harry Potter inspired and Missing person story-lines. Although I absolutely want the idea of an apocalyptic story-line expansion pack, (Dramatic voice) rebuilding in catastrophic times with scarce resources all while combining a group of survivors...

Lol! But I forreal hope we're introduced to more story lines. My game-play is repetitive and I would be pleased and overly enjoyed for an apocalyptic expansion pack.
