    Will The Sims 1 play on a Windows 8.1

    I have an opportunity to purchase this game, but I'm not sure if it will play on a Windows 8.1. Does anyone know if it will, or is there something I have to do to allow it to play? I'm holding off until I find out if I can.

      I don't remember if it worked on 8 but in 10 I had to hex edit the exe file and make it run 1080p natively and in true widescreen and I also had to fix other compatibility issues to make it run in 60 fps. They should release the complete collection on origin again, it's amazing that they are so stupid not to. Google is your friend as I'm not the best at explaining things but simsvip has some information on this too so good luck and I hope you fix it.

      Oh and you also have to download a fix for the UI if you had edit it to 1080p and merge that file with the existing UIgraphics file. It's all explained online if you Google it.

      I'm playing on Windows 7, I'm also curious if it works on 8.
