@PitlordMaggie I would suggest further to what @lsnishi has suggested to look up ea id ritpit on the gallery, to me she is the master of cobbling together vehicles.
@jeswainston65 I am by no means the master builder but I have two ideas for you: think of the square as 1 m, think of regular wall height as 3 meters.
Although there are specifics for SiM routing meaning rooms need to be bigger than IRL rooms, if you work from a published house plan and pay attention to the yellow footprint around the interactive objects maybe working with move objects off, you can get a good sense of proportion that way. For quick math convert from feet to meters and round up to the nearest meter for the number of squares.
When you are done furnishing go around the pathways in your room with the SIMs 3 camera at aprox eye level and take a look around the room as if you were walking through and that will give a good sense of the proportions also.
Thank you @JojoMOMSTER I've spent all morning trying to create what I have in my mind, but I'll take a look at her builds later to see what's under the hood Right now I'm too frustrated to build a box! Hopefully a break will get my creative juices flowing again.
You want to save your beautiful garden as a room but can't do that? It's not difficult! My guides for the very beginners will help you.🤗 With subtitles.
...Now, does anyone have a link to Sims Building for Dummies (LOL)? I need guidance on how many squares a room should be or how to not make the front of my buildings look flat and boring. Is there a link to help with that?
@jeswainston65 Hi! I don't have "Sims Building for Dummies"(And I don't like the word.) But I have some tutorials for the very beginners that may be interesting for you. Here's the link to the playlist:

Hey guys, maybe this question has been answered before but i couldn't find it.
The stairway railing is intersecting with the wall, this happened in several builds and has been bugging me for a while now.
Is there any way around this?
So I've read comments back to 2017, watched quite a few videos - learned some things about roof build, shortcuts, and cheats but still am not finding the answer to what is hopefully a simple question. Please if anyone can help me that would be great  I have a home built already, in fact, it's 4 Privet Drive  I want to update one of the rooms to a room I found in the gallery; however it is smaller than the current room and I'm not sure how to proceed. Do I delete the old room first? Then adjust the walls of the new room? Or do I place the new room inside the existing room, and remove the walls from the larger room/extend the dl room's walls... or would this mess things up and still be considered 2 rooms?

Hello everyone!
Recently steam makers stopped working properly - they don't make fog any more. I'll tell you how to at least partially solve this problem. So you can at least take screenshots or even videos with fog. https://youtu.be/QVKx9N9W-Ok
Hi all, I found a nice infographic that may be helpful for those, like myself, that get lost and frustrated trying to get a certain style of house to look "right." It has different styles and their traditional features, but you may need to click the picture to zoom in as the print is fairly small. Hope this might help some one.

It may be best to ask your question on the Builders feedback thread. BryonyRae may be able to help you there
