can someone please make an easier way to delete bad cc??
I always start a new game when bad "cc" makes an issue in my game because I have no patience to sort through it all haha.

The easiest way is to make a Sim with your bad CC, save it to your library and then use the Sims 4 Tray importer to identify and delete the files:

re PP: that is super smart! But I'm a mac user and nothing works. I feel your frustration! That's something I'm struggling with. What's been helping is just being careful about classifying CC. My mods folders has detailed folders for eyes, short skirts, 3/4 sleeves etc. (I choose categories according to details that stick out to me personally) so if I download bad CC recently it's usually not too hard to go back and identify the culprit if I sort by date added.

I considered using temporary folders for every new batch of CC. Like if you download 20 items tonight, stick everything in a dated folder. Maybe even add screenshots so you remember what to look for. Then load the game and check everything in-game. Delete stuff that doesn't work or looks weird in-game. .....but all that takes discipline that I don't have lol

Sorry if this isn't super helpful; as I said, I'm also struggling with managing CC!

There is a Mac version: https://luniversims.com/files/file/389-sims-4-tray-importer-for-mac/ you may need to translate the page. There is a link for English/Englais instructions near the bottom of the page.

    I'm a mac user too!

thank you for all the suggestions!

I'm a PC user and I've seen the video tuts for removing bad CC, but in each of them the bad CC is easily identifiable because the image for the CC shows up as that scary demon thing... in my game, I'll have a sim that looks scary demony but I can't find the CC item to save it! Any tips?

I'm not sure what your question is. To use Tray importer just make an ugly demony sim in CAS, save it to your library, close the game, and open the Tray Importer, it will show you the CC used.

tip: Don't put the Tray Importer inside your Mods folder.

It's a very common move. Everything else goes in there. Lol.

It says you need to have .NET to download it. But when I clicked on what was supposed to be for Windows 10, it didn't list it in the requirements (which is worrisome.) (The last .NET I installed was 1.1! Now it seems to be up to 4.)

So, does the one for the earlier versions of Windows work for Windows 10?

So far I haven't had any problem with CC but I want to be prepared!

I would suggest asking your question on their forum: https://luniversims.com/forums/forum/61-aide/ as the creator, Deevo, would know more about that.

I don't understand this. Someone help me fix it and walk me through it

It's really simple. Download the Sims 4 Tray Importer
    PC Version: https://luniversims.com/files/file/73-sims-4-tray-importer/
    Mac Version: https://luniversims.com/files/file/389-sims-4-tray-importer-for-mac/
(You may need to translate the page as it is in French but, the program itself is in English.)

    Extract the program.
Do not place the program in your Mods Folder. Leave it in Downloads or place it in Documents.

Open your game and make some sims with the CC you want to remove. Save them to your gallery. You can make a whole Household if you like and use all the clothing categories.

    Close the game.

Open the Tray Importer, there is a handy install wizard. Your Sims should be listed on the left side of the screen. Click on a household and it will appear in the middle of the page.

Above the Sim, you will see a tab for CC. Choose that tab. You will now see a list of all the CC used on that Sim by name.

Right-click on any CC name and you sill see the option to "show containing folder". (You can ignore anything next to a grey dot, that just lists anything merged in that file.)

The folder that you have the CC saved in will be opened and appear. The CC file name you a looking for should be highlighted, you can now delete the CC from the folder.

Repeat until you have deleted all the CC listed.

Not sure if this would help, but I created a python script a while ago that automates part of the process above. (the part where you need to open the folder of each cc you want to delete)
It's probably more useful for deleting large amounts of cc, but I've posted it on S4S here - http://sims4studio.com/thread/18278/save-time-removing-python-updated

I've managed to do this with 2 files. The third shows in red and only shows numbers and letters, not a file I can find in the list and delete. How do I deal with this?

I think that is a missing mesh, which means it isn't in your game. One of the 2 broken files you deleted must have needed it to work. (You would have to go back to the original download for that item and find the link to the mesh and download it too. Both files would need to be in your Mods folder for that item to work.) How many broken items did you place on the Sim you saved?

I had 3 broken items, and I made one sim for each broken item

This video has the red items, it may be more helpful than I am:

This is what I see... I've seen 3 vids so far, but none of them showed me about a file I cannot find anywhere on my PC...

Please go to timestamp 3:18 in the video I provided before. It explains about missing meshes. You cannot find it because it does not exist in your game because you never downloaded it. The red line tells you that the mesh is missing. There should be a blue line above it with the name of the broken file. If there is not a blue line with the file name, I would go back into CAS and see if there was still a broken item and if there is, make another Sim and run the Tray Importer on that Sim. If there still is not a blue line with the file name above the red line, I would recommend posting on the General Discord for MCCC they are better at troubleshooting than I am. You do not need to have MCCC for them to help you. https://discord.com/invite/WhhjZSp
