Has anyone used Delmar Boardwalk in Starlight shores? It's supposedly designed to replace the Delmar beach in Starlight shores yet it doesn't fit. Please see below. What can I do to fix this?
You checked the lot size? Sorry I gotta ask that. Looks great! However, that is a lot of content, I'm wondering if the creator used cheats and it's always gonna go over the edge like that.
Yes I've checked the lot size. It was built on this lot and made to replace it. Thanks for the suggestions but I still have the same issue. Here it is Delmar Boardwalk
When cheats are used, they can go over the borders. I don't have any experience with placing those. Testingcheatsenabled true is the cheat that lets you go over the border when you're building, but when the elevation is involved that's generally a different cheat, so I think you should ask the creator.
The only other thing I could suggest is to find a larger beach lot, place it and then edit it. That might not even be possible, that might be the largest width.
It's 64 wide. The largest lot I can make is 64 x 64. I will try to ask the creator. I'd hate to have to sign up with Tumblr just to ask though. Might just trash the idea of using it.
I had the same happen not too long ago, then I read about the issues....little different than yours...the lot wasn't made for a certain lot. It ended up being a constraint/floor issue that happens often and so I scrapped my idea to use it too.
Also...when I went over the border to build testingcheats and moveobjects on were BOTH used in tandem, but I was just testing something. I really don't know if opening those up to place the lot would work or not and I can't recommend it.
ok...some of these builders use those cheats a lot, might not even realize they were on. They went to the absolute borders with their build and so it's probably fine in their game but not good for others. I'm sure you've done the right thing. I think the ground will still have issues if u place it with cheats on and I just wouldn't do that to my game, it could mess up the routeable or unrouteable terrain. If you wanna try it, make a NEW Starlight Shores, try placing it on that map (with the cheats on) and then edit the lot (and turn the cheats OFF). Looks like you're going to need to take at least 2 rows of stuff off. I don't know if it will even work, but if I wanted it badly enough, that's what I would do.
Yes but it didn't work. I did try placing it with cheats but it still looks pretty bad. Oh well, think I'm just not going to use it or I'll have to build something similar.
The post is very old, so you might want to think about that; but the poster is the one building the mysimrealty worlds.
If you want: according to its manual, AwesomeMod makes it possible to create individual lot sizes; maybe a lot bigger than 64x64. I could not find a lot of info on it though and according to the comments in another mod that does the same (solely); a lot bigger than 64x64 crashed the game (and so is not included in it), see posts #155-156: http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=471164&c=1&ht=1&page=7&pp=25#startcomment
Perhaps posting in the building section would attract the attention of those knowledgeable in that area.
There's a revamped Starlight Shores world that includes it, if that's any help. I'm too much of a noob to be allowed to post links but if you Google Starlight Shores Revisited by Crimsonium you should be able to find it on my sims 3 blog easily enough. There's a working download link in the comments.
