Speaking of spider webs: If you own the Now and Then Manor, you will sometimes receive a spiderweb in the mail as a gift from an admirer. Even though I know gifts are random, I think the things only cost a couple Simoleans. Quite the cheap expression of affection!

@goodFeel93 I do use the playground items from time to time. They have a lot of character, and I do parks fairly often. Even if it is just upgrading an EA lot. And I use the wall decor The Show Must Go On wall poster and Oddities Etc. Wall Display (you'll find both in sculptures, not Wall Decorations BTW.)
Several pieces do well in CASt, but only Muscles Mascardo and his Band of Misfits Wall Poster (a wall light!) has actual decals. Four of them. I've uploaded a pic here. In case it makes a difference. And the Oddities display is there. I was checking if it had other options. It doesn't.

I keep thinking it would be cool to take on the massive project of doing a comprehensive catalog of the store. @kellycot1's Simdex is a GREAT tool. But I'd love something that included images of the alt decals and especially in game category and pricing of an item. Since the in game index is sorted by price, knowing what tab to find it on, and what price range to look in would make finding a specific item a world easier when playing the game in a higher resolution. The games become so tiny.
EA realized this, and it is one of the few things that they absolutely nailed in TS4. A fully searchable Buy/Build catalog is so useful. They were almost on track with the Collections Folders. But they only provided them sporadically, instead of with every set the store sold. It is very frustrating and I end up not even using all of the content I own.
Back to your question. Would I have spent money on this set. I'm not sure. I know I would have bought the items I've mentioned. I like them from the moment I saw them. And I don't remember how that would compare to the whole set on the rotation. But I hope that helps.

@Jude525 - I have wanted to do create such a listing too since the in-game catalog is sorted by the item's game price. Crinrict's S3S browser does include the game category and pricing of the item. The data could be extracted from her xml files. I used her xml files to extract the package file names.

@Me1620 Oh my goat. I completely forgot about Crinrict's database for a while. I guess I want something as visually approachable as the Simdex with the data from Crinrict's database. One can dream.
Actually, in an ideal world, it would be a sortable database, allowing the screen to display either by set OR category. Just with larger icons and alternate looks. But those database days are way in my past. TBH, I never got into the visual aspect of databases. Just pure data. But I did allow some pretty flexible report formatting, which would be essentially the same thing. Just generating screen data that including image files. But it comes back to the same thing. Do I REALLY want to learn a whole new database program at this stage of my life that would have no other usefulness. Wouldn't my time be better suited to committing to my piano studies again? I'm pretty sure I'm just going to keep living with the status quo.
However, if YOU get motivated, I would be willing to help out. Probably in the form of capturing and editing images to flesh out what is already available. That would just be applying skills I already have and use. (And I do mean actual Photoshop, not just screen caps.)
But, after today, I am amazed I have the energy to type. Horrendously busy this past week. Yesterday I "swore" I wasn't leaving this house. Even if it caught fire. But, I'd recently promised Dad I'd shop for new kitchen curtains. When I found out the local curtain outlet was 40% off today only... *sigh* Life. But the curtains are nice.

Several pieces do well in CASt, but only Muscles Mascardo and his Band of Misfits Wall Poster (a wall light!) has actual decals. Four of them. I've uploaded a pic here. In case it makes a difference. And the Oddities display is there. I was checking if it had other options. It doesn't.
I've also uploaded a close up of the Show Must Go On poster here.
I keep thinking it would be cool to take on the massive project of doing a comprehensive catalog of the store. @kellycot1's Simdex is a GREAT tool. But I'd love something that included images of the alt decals and especially in game category and pricing of an item. Since the in game index is sorted by price, knowing what tab to find it on, and what price range to look in would make finding a specific item a world easier when playing the game in a higher resolution. The games become so tiny.
EA realized this, and it is one of the few things that they absolutely nailed in TS4. A fully searchable Buy/Build catalog is so useful. They were almost on track with the Collections Folders. But they only provided them sporadically, instead of with every set the store sold. It is very frustrating and I end up not even using all of the content I own.
Back to your question. Would I have spent money on this set. I'm not sure. I know I would have bought the items I've mentioned. I like them from the moment I saw them. And I don't remember how that would compare to the whole set on the rotation. But I hope that helps.

The data could be extracted from her xml files. I used her xml files to extract the package file names.

Actually, in an ideal world, it would be a sortable database, allowing the screen to display either by set OR category. Just with larger icons and alternate looks. But those database days are way in my past. TBH, I never got into the visual aspect of databases. Just pure data. But I did allow some pretty flexible report formatting, which would be essentially the same thing. Just generating screen data that including image files. But it comes back to the same thing. Do I REALLY want to learn a whole new database program at this stage of my life that would have no other usefulness. Wouldn't my time be better suited to committing to my piano studies again? I'm pretty sure I'm just going to keep living with the status quo.
However, if YOU get motivated, I would be willing to help out. Probably in the form of capturing and editing images to flesh out what is already available. That would just be applying skills I already have and use. (And I do mean actual Photoshop, not just screen caps.)
But, after today, I am amazed I have the energy to type. Horrendously busy this past week. Yesterday I "swore" I wasn't leaving this house. Even if it caught fire. But, I'd recently promised Dad I'd shop for new kitchen curtains. When I found out the local curtain outlet was 40% off today only... *sigh* Life. But the curtains are nice.
