Hooray for another story to read!
It will be interesting to see where this goes @ciane
Happy you figured out a relatively easy fix for getting the download to work and sharing the information with us.
Glad you found inspiration in Florida @SamelaRita
Having the tax return and accounts sorted is such a nice feeling, says the one who does them in our house. Kudos to your husband for getting both done! It was very nice meeting both of you and playing tourist together ... my husband & I have mentioned several times that viewing our area from a tourist's perspective could bring new things to our attention or give us a better appreciation of what we have. We certainly did that during our time together, thank you.
Looking forward to more of your lovely story and finding out what happens next.
Off to catch up our accounts, etc. since someone reminded me that I haven't done them this past week. lol
@ciane I've never had a fire alarm at school! Just when you think you know the game... @ADWilson Hope you got your accounts done (can't imagine who reminded you of them) - I'm just about to go and make marmalade and sort through some old files at the same time, in the hope of clearing out a cupboard or two. But I just paaused to pop by this site, and found things to read, people's news...should make the paper sorting much more fun.
I just called it a fire alarm as all the students were just poofed out of school, which I'm guessing was Overwatch's reset because of some glitch.
When they get kicked out school during the school day (like when you saved during the school day and quit and reloaded), their homework goes from green status to red. With only an hour left for the kids' school day, it seemed a better use of time to meet all the school kids then instead of wasting all day to meet one friend at a time later. And, the homework would still have been red, because they wouldn't be able to finish it on their own in an hour. A little hit on school performance for an hour seemed a better outcome in the long run.
Life is busy!
For example ...
This past weekend, we went shopping for everyday shoes for Mr Addy & me (if you know me, you know I dislike shopping. Had to "visit" SIX stores before I found something because most don't carry my size. Ugh!!! Did I mention I dislike shopping?! SIX!!!) ... Along with our daughter, we went to a quilt show (awesome!!!!!!!!) and the Magic Kingdom (not too crowded on Super Bowl Sunday plus setting up FastPass Rides/having a plan in advance, thanks to our girl, made it one of our best times at the park!!).
I admit to be mighty tempted to play the Christmas renovation even though I have another one in the planning stages. Decisions, decisions!!
You might wait until SamelaRita can upload an install-friendly version or you'll have to move the dcbackup file into your library folder.
Magic Kingdom on Su[erbowl Sunday sounds like a great way to go. And fastpass does mean that you actually have better time management and get more rides in!
I usually window shop on line to see what the different stores carry before going shopping myself.
And life here is like being in the sims - we're having the extension built, so there's builders, mud everywhere (it's February - it rained! At least it's not snow) and it's nowhere near as quick as it is on the sims. But it's happening, so I am a happy bunny really Most of my day seems to go on making coffee for them and baking also - a fed and watered builder is a happy builder, and it's hard work that they're doing. It's only a small extension, but it's going to make a big difference to the dining room, like we'll be able to open the big table out with ease, seat ten without it being a total squash - oh, and put some more bookcases up too: always necessary. I bought a dozen or more books when we were in Florida over Christmas alone. Ooops!
Hope everyone else is having a good start to their year - the days are getting longer, yay!
So one of your traits is bookworm and another is natural cook, huh? I know you'll love that extension and it will be so worth it when it's done.
You are so right about the bookworm! I just don't have enough shelf space...I do prune my books from time to time, but my baseline is if I'm going to read it again, then I'm not getting rid of it because I'll only end up re-buying it. Might make caramel shortbread today ready to give to the builders tomorrow, as the chocolate can harden overnight. The walls are now up to windowsill height
Well, one new chapter to read as I'd already found the other two after I finished reading this first five. I hope you can take another well-deserved break again soon.
On another note, I left my old pics as they were in photo bucket and the pictures again appeared in my first legacy story, but now they gained a a big "Photobucket" label on them. So, I left them that way. See here: http://modthesims.info/article.php?t=349656

I had my early stories up on the Sims 3 forums - the movies and Media page - and now they're just not there any more! After a while, I just started putting a brief bit and the links on there, once I'd started using Google blogger, and then the pictures went, and then the stories went! I've re-done nearly all of them now - there's just this one, and another one I wrote that was quite dark (for me) - a sequel the The Asylum, and I'm debating whether to put that one up again or not. Life was pretty tough when I wrote it, and it shows in the writing. It was a total I-can't-stop-writing-this story as well.
I've posted another chapter today... https://samelasstories.blogspot.com/2019/03/rillas-inheritance-chapter-9.html

Putting these up is nice and manageable amid all the chaos! And I'd been meaning to get round to doing it for a while.
Hope someone enjoys it

I'm putting the pictures in steadily (tr: as often as I can justify having a break from stripping wallpaper, painting skirting boards, doing the laundry...) so here's some more for you to read
