I just had something occur in my game that hasn't before. Early on I created a Club for the family. It's aptly called Family Gatherings. Another player once suggested this was the best way to get a family together for those special events. Sadly, it doesn't easily allow room for others who end up in the family to join. There are five children in the family and I used the points earned to allow for the youngest to join.

The first son got married and ultimately moved out. (True enough I haven't played them since.) The third son got married and he and his wife and twins are still living in his parents' home. The fourth child and only daughter got married and moved out. The second son moved in with her for a few 'Sim' years. (I have been playing this family unit to keep track of my Superstar.) He just got married and moved out with his bride into their very own house. (So, I have switched households, naturally.)

Just moments ago, (And it's only been two Sim days since the wedding) the bride just got a notice from her father-in-law asking if she would like to join the Club. Perhaps, if I played the eldest son, his wife would be included, too. So far the second daughter-in-law hasn't been included, but I would imagine this doesn't happen on its own. I haven't been back to play the original family. Regardless of my having played the daughter's household for ages, the son-in-law has never received an invitation. (Wondering if there's some bad blood there somewhere, that I'm not aware of )

I just found it so sweet that she got 'adopted' if you will. To date, I've always had the event planner invite the wives and husband of the siblings so they show up, too.
