I'll be 32 in three months. My first experience with the sims was the sims 1 on ps2. I rented it back when that was a thing and couldn't figure out how to play. I started with a premade family that had two adults, a child/teen?, and a baby that was in a crib outside the house for some reason. I couldn't figure out how to get the baby in the house and only the child seemed to be able to interact with it. I kept having to start over because the baby kept getting taken away and the adults needs were really bad. lol. Good times.
Have a super fantastic awesome splendid amazing day! -TheQxxn
Hmm... it seems I started playing when I was 12 years old, because Deluxe Edition was our first The Sims game. I remember how my friend borrowed some of the earlier expansion packs for me, after my sisters and I had bought Unleashed and Superstar.
I have had some breaks since then, but it seems I keep coming back :D

This is pretty much me. Just turned 30, started playing when I was 13. I been through TS1, 2,3 and 4.
But I took very very long break on TS3, to an extend I almost didn't really play for years. TS2 was my best memory. Haven't played sims for at least 4years and I just made my TS4 purchase during the 2019 new year sale and I am back!
Awesome thread and good to see others around my age that are into gaming. In real life, I am a little embarrassed to reveal gaming as a hobby. I am 46 and don't remember if my first Sim game was SimCity or SimEarth (hope EA remake this since it's a good education on climate).
As some of you, I feel quite better to see that people of my age still play The Sims. I've always loved to think, imagine and create things and when I first started The Sims I found exactly what I've dreamed of as a creative teenager. I was able to create houses, decorate them, even dress sims up that was so magical to me. It stimulates my creativity so much that I just can't stop playing even today, though some people may say that's childish. I’m just over 40 and have been playing since The original Sims first released. I played SimCity and several of the other old school Sim* games back in the day.
I’ve been gaming since Atari was new and exciting, and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon!
I hardly see any other teenagers on here, so it’s amazing looking on here and seeing there’s a few of us! 👍🏻
Same!
Also wanted to add that I've been playing the Sims since December of 2013. I started with the Sims 3, then the Sims 4 was announced and I've been playing it ever since.
Most simmers are actually over 18. Because the Sims is not a new game. It has been out for nearly 20 years in one form or another
That's true. What I find really interesting is that the amount of teenagers and seniors who play the game are more or less the same (according to this poll, at least).
I'm 25 . I played The Sims, Sims Bustin' Out, The Urbz, and The Sims 2 all on Gamecube while in middle school. I began playing Sims 4 on PC/Mac 2 years ago, and I'm so glad I did! I did try Sims 3 on Xbox back in 2012 but I wasn't really into it. I remember buying Sims Pets for PC (1 or 2, can't remember) back then without having the base game, and I was so mad it did not work. Hahah.
I’m in my 50s and I’ve been playing since the very beginning! Never too old as far as I’m concerned 😁 I love the Sims 4, I’m even considering an Instagram account 😀
I am 68 and have been playing since 2000. I have introduced both my children (now grown) and my grandchildren to the game and we all still play. Never to old for swimming!

There are also incredibly many 30-something Simmers. I'd say the main fanbase are people aged 20-50.

I haven't been playing Sims very long, only started in April of 2017, but it's easily become my favourite videogame series
