If we ever get a Beach Vacation EP, there should be hotels our Sims can stay in, from cheap motel to luxurious resort.
BUT make them ownable like the vet clinic & restaurants! Hotels could get a star rating based on...
  • Furnishing
  • Staff friendliness
  • Pool area
  • Room size
  • Wait time (at the lobby)
  • Food quality at buffet
The pool might have to be cleaned from time to time, due to dirty visitors or be chlorinated (for extra money).

I'd rather hotels in the mountains. A ski resort, or something like that.

You could do that if hotels functioned like vet clinics & restaurants. Then you could place them in whatever world you want.

It's a bit hard to place them in whatever world you want, when the worlds I want don't exist. :/

I don't know if I care for a tropical resort town. I prefer the idea of a ski resort that was mentioned.

How about amusement/water parks with giant water slides and such.

I’d love this, especially if it would make it possible to “vacation” in other regular worlds.

One of the things I think fell short with the Sims 3 world Adventures was that they had those horrid hostels in the areas we visited rather than full service hotels. If it were up to me I would have hotels that:
    1. Could be placed in any potential vacation destination which as Movotti requested in could be a ski associated type area or even attached to say a Family styled Amusement Park like Disney World
    2. Could be built with any type of architecture so it could be a ski chalet or a beach resort or even a castle if we so choose
    3. Hotels have Lot traits associated as well
    4. Could be purchasable and ran as a business
    5. Had Desk Clerks, Doormen, Housekeeping and Groundskeepers as well as Pool Servers, Restaurant Staff, Spa Aestheticians, and Bartenders
    6. ROOM SERVICE!
    7. Presidents Suite & Honeymoon Suite
    8. Private Bungalows
    9. Can have restaurants, hotel bar, pool bar and a spa built in it if you have the associated packs
    10. I like the star rating system idea to determine how popular your hotel is
    11. If you have the hotel pack and they introduce a new destination such as Egypt they always include an unlock-able front desk and associated hotel items (decor, uniforms etc.) to create another new hotel for the new area as well as restaurants with associated food
    12. If they introduce Casinos then allow us to add in casino elements to our hotels
    13. Larger lots to accommodate large resort and hotels
    14. Updates to the current "destination" areas to accommodate at least a moderately sized hotel
    15. If you have the Spa pack and they introduce a new unique destination that is known for certain spa treatments such as Lomilomi massage, from Hawaii, Turkish Baths, or the Onsen from Japan they include these in updates to the spa for use
      in the resort
    16. Purchasable local souvenirs from what looks like private shops and artisans
    17. Exclusive purchasable clothing and jewelry

    Omg yessssssss. Everything you said.
    Plus:
    • All hotels, resorts, etc function like (upgraded please) Get To Work/Dine Out locations. You could own them, work in them, manage them. Or just go visit a premade one and have it work.
    • We should have a Suite Life of Zack and Cody option. To live in the hotel your parents own, like London. Or if your position in the hotel comes with housing, have your family live there too. Lol that'd be great.
    • We should be able to have themed hotels in any locale, even ones that don't match the surroundings. Lot traits could be an affect of this. Like:
    • Hotels etc get boosts depending on where they are placed. A Hawaiian hotel in a tropical paradise gets lot trait boosts for ocean view, warm breezes, extra vitamin D from tropic Sun.
    • But a Hawaiian hotel in Iceland doesn't have those auto extra boosts. But you can configure lot traits to add some. And maybe boosts like ' A taste of the tropics' can apply to those.
    • And these themed lot traits can be applied to other things like restaurants, retailers, etc. Increasing attraction to consumers. Giving prestige for frequenting these places.
    • Hotels and resorts often have little shops, gift shops, and local vendor shops inside them. So that should be an option for sims living in world, or out. Say you live in a tropical world and have a surf shop by the beach. You could appeal to the hotel owner, and have a satellite shop in the resort. You'd attract customers. The prestige of your shop could help the hotel, and vice versa. You could become the only surf lessons people for the hotel, a monopoly.
    • Or you could be a restaurateur. You are a head chef/owner (which needs to be an option already) with a restaurant in Willow Creek, Oasis Springs, and the Hollywood one whose name escapes me. And now you're looking to expand again. So you come to the Hawaiian resort, you open a restaurant inside. The owners of the resort get rent/partial earnings from it. You get the rest. And all the hungry travelers come to your place.
Check out my posts in the Ideas corner, and see the Simsverse living inside my head.
  • Yet another world that I can't believe does not already exist. Especially since I know that they once had deserted islands in Sims 2: Cast Away.

Awesome idea. Definitely need open oceans. Would like for some of the rivers and streams to be open for swimming. And I miss boats and jet skies really hope they bring back fun water sporting things to do in game. And volleyball, sea shell hunting, sand castle building and so on...

Beaches need resorts unless our sims can stay on luxury liners and even with that I still want hotels and resorts.
  • Does anyone else think that, if they add a beach world, then they need to add a Surfing skill?

I for one would like to see this, but I fear it would just get lumped in with Fitness. For that matter, I also think Swimming should be its own separate skill as not everyone knows how to sim.

I fully agree with this idea even do the romance part is not part of my gameplay style prettysure @catloverplayer will agree with this if the resort hotel has a honeymoon suite there should be heart shape content like 1 the hear shape vibrating bed 2 a heart shape hot tub and the resort hotel should also offer an all include package depending on the type of vacation chosen as well as players should have the option to buy a home with there own private beach

This times 1,000 i would love to be able to use hotels in all my worlds, add them in to existing vacation worlds (and to be able to buy second homes in these locations) as well as a new vacation location(s) - a ski setting or the more obvious tropical island settings would be perfect worlds, but more than anything being able to integrate hotels in to the rest of my worlds and features from my other packs (spa day, dine out, pools, nightclubs, celebrity hot spots etc) in to my vacation worlds would be awesome.

I really think that a "on Vacation" full expansion pack rather than a game pack or stuff pack could bring so much versatility beyond just adding one new resort location for us to play with. For me it would bring a whole new aspect of game play across the worlds that would really help with my story telling and could be used by all my sims not just specific people or families with one kind of aspiration. In terms of new aspirations, skills and jobs there is a whole swathe of ways you could go, from watersports skills, to resort owner or property developer jobs and property magnate aspirations.

I really like the idea of having some run down resorts that need "flipping" to improve and build your way up the ladder, but also being able to delete premade lots and build your own resorts/hotels from scratch in any location across the worlds. Perhaps you cant own * run a 2/3/4/5 star resort until you've successfully owned and managed the lower star resorts beneath it first. I like the way this could potentially fit in with a smaller pack like a property developer/owner pack which allows a sim to own more than one home. I like the idea of being able to own a holiday home and live across more than one property/location if you can afford it, or rent your second home out in the same way apartments are rented to townies and a rent paid to you as a landlord. Building a property empire would be a fun way to play the game, and owning various hotels, resturants, shops and businesses would be great pack integration.

I like the beach resort idea. I lived on tropical islands for almost 10 years and spent several months in the Alupang Beach Tower (which had a restaurant on the main floor). There was a water park nearby & beaches with jetskis, parasailing, etc. For a beach resort, I'd like to add the idea of picking up clams & oysters from the sand/shallow water. They could be cooked by the sims or taken to one of the resort's hotels where the staff could cook them for the sims (the restaurant at Alupang would cook fish for us if we caught some and brought it in). Sims could also pick up new seeds-- perhaps some seaweed/kelp seeds that could be grown in aqua gardens or aquariums.

Boats as hotels would be an interesting idea. Perhaps sims could even go on cruises.

Of course, I'd want sims to be able to bring their pets along to the resorts (unless the pets stayed at a pet-only resort or a kennel-- pets could be happy upon return from the former and maybe irritated on return from the latter depending on quality of the kennel). Sims could hire pet-sitters while they traveled as well. There could be resorts that only allowed cats (in case the dogs might chase them) or only dogs.

It would be nice if there were resorts that only allowed teens and up (so no annoying children buzzing around) as well as some that were kid-friendly.

I like the Casino idea bc my brother works at a restaurant in a casino and my best friend works at an arcade in a casino.

While I'm not a fan of the heart-shape stuff, I do have nostalgia for the vibrating heart bed. It would be cool if there were vibrating beds of different shapes as well. Maybe some that sims have at home that would make them feel better after working. Massage chairs would be cool too (not sure if they exist from stuff packs or not).

I love the ideas of sims being able to own, live at, and work at resorts/hotels.

Vibrating heart beds could be a perfect fit for honeymoon suites!
It could not only be for WooHoo as well, Sims could lie down and set vibration mode and have all their bad moodlets relieved
