-I feel so sorry for Celeste. It's clear she feels confused, and needs a place where she feels that she belongs. It's sad that noone ever took the time to tell her about her dad truly was. But maybe it's better like this. Her wishing to think of her dead parents as angels watching over her, but at the same time dismissing the thought captures her disillusion of life so perfectly.
-Celeste mentioning Kellie trying so hard to be a "true" Heffner makes me wonder if the fact that she was adopted let her or other people think that she doesn't belong there.
-I had to laugh a lot while reading Celeste's descriptions of her brother. In a way I feel sorry for her, but still it's funny xD
-While Chris drives Celeste to school, I was wondering when he stopped blasting music in his car. If I remember correctly, he used to drive with music before, as a teen? Also I think I can understand why he still keeps the car, but I cannot really explain it either.
-I absolutely adore your screenshots in front of the school, and then later the girls on the monkey bars. I love all of your screenshots, but these are especially beautiful! Oh, and let's not forget the tooth brushing
-the bullying scene was written so well. It looked so realistic. All of the girls feel like real teenagers.
-Andre is so adorable. Especially when he trips I admit I had to laugh, you know why! please give us more dorky nerd. most nerds are just jackasses pretending to be nice bc they're shy, but this one seems really nice. Btw does he have braces?

- the credit for inventing 'Chrissy fit' and 'Mother Christina' goes to @WagonFruit I'm afraid my English is not sufficient to allow me come up with something so funny and fitting like that. Turnip head was my only poor attempt on funny nicknames for Celeste's 'beloved' brother.
- the answer is pretty simple: after his mom died it didn't feel right to him to blast music in his car and he got used to the silence. Add to that the fact he's a cop now and slavishly following all rules as the good cop he think he is.
- let's not talk about what it took to take those group shot in front of the school, shall we? As for the girls on the monkey bars, I had the vision from the start of them hanging out in the park and on the monkey bars. We used to do that too as teens, sitting on a merry-go-round and chat. Adults usually forced us to get off it was for small children not us. And ofc. we would return after a while.
You liked the toothbrushing. Just say the word and I will send you more of those from different angles.
- I don't particularly enjoy writing bullying scenes. I wasn't super confident about it either. But I know that "You're in our country now, act accordingly" is something people tend to say and think quite often.
- Andre seems to be a mix of several people, me included. I totally channeled my inner geek there. But when you write one, you have to go all the way. Some of my friends are exactly like Andre. He does have bracers! I though it was a nice touch, although they are not very visible in the picture.
She's a character that hasn't been introduced yet. She's waiting for the right time, although her arrival will mean sad news, so you don't want to meet her yet.

I like how much Celeste focuses on her dad. We know he wasn't only the sweet and talented person she sees in him, but even if someone would have told her that (I take it that they didn't), she wouldn't believe them. She can't. That's the last straw to cling to for her, the last person in whose "presence" she can still breathe. Chris, Kellie, Beryl, they all have a tragic story that people focus on and maybe Celeste had peoples' sympathy as a baby when she lost her parents but that's long past.
Also, it is interesting that she can critizise Kellie's striving to be part of the family while still seeing her as such. That's something a child wouldn't be able to, Celeste has certainly grown up!

Yes, Celeste identifies herself with her dad more than anyone else. The way she sees it, Chris is momma's boy. Both Beryl and Chris enjoy great popularity with the Newcrest folk. No one speaks of her dad or her. Not that she actually craved the attention of media. At least not for herself.
Jordan is intrigued by Celeste and her family. She comes from a country where ancestors are held in great regard and a legacy family resembles that most. She also loves to have fun and she kind of appreciated the sentiment behind what Celeste did with her brother's photo. She will have some crazy ideas of her own in the future as well, so don't worry.
