Back in the villa, Marte and Pablo are enjoying the luxury of the large bathroom upstairs.
Rebecca is borrowing Laura's toys, and Jostein is impressing his relatives with his piano playing.
The family gathers in the kitchen for some food and darts before bed.
Rebecca is sleeping in Laura's room, while the three others are installed in what used to be Tony's room before he went off to live with his widowed twin sister.
Kari is on one of her many parties, she's met a lot of new people lately and partying is a welcome break from her busy work schedule. But this time, something dramatic happens. And it happens so fast. Someone in the next room have tried to light the fireplace, but they've been careless (and juiced?) and lit themselves on fire too. It's Kari's friend Melissa. When Kari tries to help, she catches fire as well.
With this terrible accident, Kari's life is changed. She's lost a friend, and she has permanent scarring on her face from being on fire. It's not been that long since she lost her father in a fire, and now she's relived the nightmare. She needs to get away for a little while.
She's chosen to check into a cabin in Granite Falls for a couple of days.
She's hoping it will be a quiet break that will help her clear her thoughts and give her emotions some rest.
The next morning, Kari has waved Naoki goodbye and is ready to enjoy a grilled cheese in front of the fireplace. Unfortunately, that grilled cheese comes back up shortly after. What's wrong?
A pregnancy test gives her the precise and brutal answer.
She has no intention of tracking down Naoki the waiter in Granite Falls to tell him - she feels no emotional attachment to him. She'd much rather involve the people who matter to her. Gabriella is surprised and a little worried about the news, but supports her daughter one hundred percent.
Now is the time to take it easy and wait for the arrival of the mystery baby.
Spring has come to Brindleton Bay, and it's time to do some work in the garden. Gabriella is tending to her bees again now that they've woken up from their winter sleep.
Steadily it's getting warmer, and they can start using their terrace more.
Kari is back to work, feeling great.
She enjoys the home visits when she gets to meet patients at their house instead of staying inside the hospital all day.
While processing the loss of her mother, Kari starts renovating the house. It becomes a sort of therapy, and it allows her to "take back" the house after all that's happened.
She's doing a lot of upgrades herself, and some parts of the house are hardly recognizable after the renovation.
At work, she has ways to cope with sudden sadness or anger.
Going for a jog at the end of the workday is one of the things that seems to help.
The exercise really pays off, and she feels almost like a new person after a while. She decides to get rid of the hairstyle she's had since the start of her teens and try something completely different.
She's very pleased with the way the house looks now.
This is awesome! The new house is really nice! I also just started the legacy challenge. It is so fun and challenging to get from nothing to something :)
In San Myshuno, the family isn't able to eat a lot of meals together because of the parents' work schedule. But on some lucky days they are all gathered. This time Jostein has also invited his friend from across the hall, Celine Bolivar.
After dinner, Rebecca rushes over to do her school project. Being more and more active in the drama club, she doesn't have a lot of time to do homework. Good thing mom can help.
Both these kids love dancing.
Marte is writing a book for the first time, a comedy one.

It's Winterfest morning, and the parents are already preparing the grand meal for tonight.
They have invited Lena with family, and Victoria has come over from Oasis Springs.
They sing, chat and open presents and have a completely wonderful holiday.
Happy holidays to all of my fellow simmers!
They should come to Myshuno Meadows during winter more often. It's a great place to play in the snow!
Then they travel to Oasis Springs to spend a couple of days with cousin Marco and his family.
It's great to see Marco, they have a lot to catch up on.
Pablo isn't at all used to roller skating. The only one who's any good is Marco, it's always been a favorite activity of his.
The children are bonding with their third cousin Laura.
Little Helena prefers to hang out with the grownups.
Rebecca is borrowing Laura's toys, and Jostein is impressing his relatives with his piano playing.

Rebecca is sleeping in Laura's room, while the three others are installed in what used to be Tony's room before he went off to live with his widowed twin sister.
They spend the rest of the morning in the large Oasis park, playing basketball and grilling burgers.
In the evening, they go to the bowling alley to celebrate Rebecca's birthday!
This is the end of their winter holiday, and the beginning of Rebecca's teens.
Kari is saved. Melissa isn't so lucky.
She's chosen to check into a cabin in Granite Falls for a couple of days.
She's hoping it will be a quiet break that will help her clear her thoughts and give her emotions some rest.
This cabin seems like the perfect place for that.
They have a great sauna.
There's a restaurant next door where she stops by for lunch.
She finds the waiter to be very handsome, and she is brave enough to let him know that.
It's so beautiful here in winter!
Naoki the waiter meets up with her when he's off work for the day. Kari has never had a boyfriend, but she doesn't feel like taking it slow.
Naoki is the perfect distraction she needs right now.
A pregnancy test gives her the precise and brutal answer.
Now is the time to take it easy and wait for the arrival of the mystery baby.
The customers are also happy with their efforts, and they can return home after a long day being proud of their work.
But she usually gets over it pretty soon into her work day.
Gabriella is her absolutely most important support and best friend at the moment. She's making her daughter laugh no matter how difficult her day is.
She's getting huge now.
And the mystery baby is born!
She looks just as happy as her mom was when she first found out she was pregnant.
This is Gabriella's first grandchild, and she's over the moon excited about the little girl. Kari has decided to call her Evelina.
Steadily it's getting warmer, and they can start using their terrace more.
Kari is back to work, feeling great.
She enjoys the home visits when she gets to meet patients at their house instead of staying inside the hospital all day.
What on earth is Kari going to do without her mother's support in her life?
Tony knows very well that his twin sister's passing means he doesn't have much time left himself.
That means Kari will soon live in this large house alone with her child and has to manage by herself.
She's doing a lot of upgrades herself, and some parts of the house are hardly recognizable after the renovation.
Going for a jog at the end of the workday is one of the things that seems to help.

She's very pleased with the way the house looks now.
Evelina is a happy toddler who loves playing on their new terrace.
Uncle Tony is using some of his last strength in life to paint a beautiful portrait of them.
Like teaching her to talk while mommy takes a nap.
She loves being read stories before sleep.
And she loves food and is usually well behaved when they're eating.
After dinner, Rebecca rushes over to do her school project. Being more and more active in the drama club, she doesn't have a lot of time to do homework. Good thing mom can help.
Both these kids love dancing.
Marte is writing a book for the first time, a comedy one.
Marte is attracting larger audiences to her shows, and is almost always recording or streaming the performance.
Rebecca has not grown tired of the drama club in her teens, rather the opposite. She practices her acting skill as much as she can.
Once in a while she meets up with some other teen club members for socializing. They're a strange, but friendly bunch.
And like always, she's having a lot of fun and getting positive attention from the crowd.
The day after is Love Day, and the married couple makes sure to focus a little extra on each other by spending all morning at the spa in Newcrest.
Then they have a late lunch together before they have to head to work.
