I'm on the hunt for a new world. If anyone can point me in the direction of one that might be suitable I'd be very grateful.
I'm looking for a mountain/farming country/rural world, with lakes, lots of trees and greenery (I don't mind adding more) and plenty of trails and beautiful areas for my sims to explore (think waterfalls, meadows, caves, nooks and crannys)
I'd rather it was unpopulated with no buildings as I'd like to create my own (I don't mind if I need to delete some) and I would prefer minimal roads with space for medium and large flat lots
I've got 99 problems and TS4 glitches are 99 of them
Also Glen Donnach and Cladbridge-on-Stowe. They seem typical british small towns.
Not really mountainous, but I think you'll like it. I did presentation of these two here and here.
Meadow Glen has big farm area. There are pics of one of the latest version of this world.
I've always kind of liked this world http://www.akisima.de/blog/?p=7147 but there are some issues here and there that I can't deal with, like the roads in the "downtown" area.

I do not - I downloaded them both and had no problems. Although is was months and months ago that I downloaded them. Do you have your antivirus running? Or ad block?
I installed both of them and nothing was amiss.
The links no longer work for me, so sorry.
You could try asking on the forum (I think you have to register?) BloodOmen1988 is/was active back in July when I had some questions, she answered quickly, if I recall. And she/he knows Vany. Vany does have a small website but there is nothing there, really, except some info on the world he/she was just starting on that was talked about at the end of the thread. https://worldsbyvany.wordpress.com/
I've been working on a world just like that with my Riverview makeover which is being done with the lite version from CAW after changing the world's ID number. It won't have a population like the store version and you'd have to place blank lots to build on or place venues down.

I'll also direct you to two worlds that are extremely beautiful and extremely large. And I think mostly empty.

The download sites for the 2 Sim Forum worlds are infected with malware. Do you know of where else to download these?

This one is probably the best for what you want as it has a lot of beautiful trails to explore.
I added a lot of lots to it, as it was rather empty for my taste.
Rinn Fada is very farming like, has minor CC

However most of these have lots, but they're easy to delete and rebuild.

CC never stops me from downloading anything as I use Sims3Pack Cleaner before installing anything.
