So I legitimately had a moment where I was playing the game, and in my game it's spring and rainy, whereas IRL it's just approaching winter and snowy and cold. The following train of thought occurred while deep in a gaming session:
Ugh I have to take the dog out to tinkle. I don't want to go out in the rain! Woah, wait. What season am I in? Oh right there's snow on the ground!

I have noticed a lot of shows have been using Sims 3 music. Extreme Cheapskates used it. On the Australian version of Married at First Sight, they played a tune. I also believe my local news station uses a song from Sims 3 for their community events. I recognise the music easily.
I like to design houses or night clubs when I'm bored in the car or trying to sleep. When I can't go out I put on TS3 and make my Simself go nightclubbing.
When an Asian man shows up at your door, tells your husband he's there to cough on you and the only explanation your husband needs is 'it's a sim thing'.
"It's a sim thing" gets me out of a lot of explaining.
Continuing the "being sick" topic - when your cat bites your hand and one of your first thoughts (after"ouch" and "do I have to go to ER with that?") is "how am I supposed to play Sims now??".
(I went to the doctor and am all better now. Yay antibiotics! Also, my cat usually never bites, we were at the vet and she panicked when getting her shots, my fault for trying to grab her).
This one might hurt some players' feelings. But I hope not and it isn't intended that way.
When you are walking down the street minding your own business (mostly) and suddenly notice this bus going by and stopping just up the block. I don't know what the "C" modifier is for, "Console" perhaps, but regardless I am not getting on that bus. Not even if the bus driver opens the door and invites me to come along for the ride without paying the fare.
Now this one...maybe. We'll have to see what happens when it decides to show up as I've never seen this one in person.

I thought to myself I can't play the sims all the time, so I'm watching this television programme (sort of a local take off on "Ramsay's kitchen nightmares") - and when chef is waiting for the restaurant owners to settle, I hear familiar theme in the background - They put the Buy/Build theme from The Sims!!!! I think it's a sign I *should* play
