Pleased you picked Showtime. Not the registration reward I meant the in game reward points which can be swopped for items, improved skills etc. I don't want to say too much more or else it will spoil the fun for you but does that help at all ?
I no longer use Origin or My Page. You can find me on YouTube or Twitter as Bettyboop711000. You are welcome to contact me as I explore options for a PC sandbox life simulation game.

I was confident I wouldn't have to sell you on the ST objects considering some of the comments here. The professions defiantly get repetitive after a while but they are fun at first. Just curious... do you have Seasons installed yet?
@SimplyJen Thanks for voting Yes, I agree that the comments here definitely were in favour of Showtime
I don't have Seasons installed yet - that might have to wait until I get something a little more powerful than this laptop I am using which runs what I have pretty well but I have no idea how much it would take because I don't have a technical bone in my body

I voted Showtime, because I think that pack has more to actually do for your sims. Although Pets does have the horses and unicorns, they are really fun to train and work with. Showtime comes with new open careers though, doing performances ánd (if you’re into that) a very well done life state (the genie).
But to end it the way I always end in topics like this: afaic you can’t go wrong Pets has the better world imo by the way.
Thanks for voting @wildflutterby and @JoAnne65. I made this poll at the start of September and installed Showtime shortly after. Although my sims don't normally work outside of the home, I did a try a couple of the careers and enjoyed seeing new animations and outfits. My sims probably won't use the new careers again but I had to give it a try. I will also try a genie, probably this week, although I have no desire to have genies in my households in my usual generational saves. Overall, I am having fun with my choice
Edit just realised that you posted this thread a couple of months ago and have since got Showtime. I should now as I already seen that you got a Genie lol
I felt a bit weird voting in this poll at all, as Showtime is one of two EPs I don't own and have never played.
My choice came down to, if you don't plan to actually make/play Pet Sims, or redecorate/refurnish, the small number of additional wardrobe pieces and the new town really don't compensate you for the incredibly heavy footprint Pets has, as a resource-hog. It is very demanding.
I see you are exploring Showtime, instead - so, an inconsequential vote, but I thought I'd explain my reasoning.
@king_of_simcity7 That's okay. I know it's easy to comment in an old thread when it has already been revived by another.
@Sindocat Thanks for voting even if it is after the fact. I think, from what I have read online, that Showtime offers more that complements my style of playing than Pets does. One day I will try Pets but it might have to wait until I get a better laptop or a desktop.
This was hard! I think that Pets is my favorite of the two, but I had to say Showtime for the actual leisure activities. It's been awhile since I've played TS3, so I may be remembering incorrectly, but I believe Showtime came with new traits and lots which add interactions. Even if you don't want to do the new careers, you can attend sim fest to meet new people as well as watch performances. I believe you can also have your sims level up in new skills regardless of if they are in the career track. Although pets comes with lots of fun objects and such, all the new gameplay seems to be centred around the pets, and therefore this pack is likely not worth it for you.
@whimreaper Thanks for voting This is actually an old poll that someone recently revived and I have been playing Showtime since early September. I definitely think I made the right choice for my style of play
