The Sims 4: Prison Challenge

Your sim has been wrongly convicted and sent to prison! They will be housed with 7 other inmates who must be the same gender (or transgender) as your sim.

Your sim may have any traits you wish, or you can randomized them, however the 7 prisoners must have largely negative traits such as mean, evil, hot-headed, erratic, slob, etc. You may never control any of the 7 sims, you can only control your own sim.

The lot can be anywhere you want, any size but must have the traits grody, filthy and private dwelling. Visitors must be ignored.

The prison may have only the following:

Common Area: The common area contains 1 couch OR 1 leaveseat and 1 chair OR 3 chairs, one creative item (easel, guitar etc.), 1 fitness item, either 1 television OR 1 radio. All items should be as cheap as possible while fitting with an overall decorative theme (I’m aware the penguin TV would look odd in a prison).

Kitchen: The kitchen may have one fridge, one prep counter, one microwave (on its own counter) and one sink. The kitchen may have one table and 2 chairs. The kitchen also has the ONLY indoor trash can.

Bathroom: The bathroom is always unlocked, but there is only 1. It may have 1 shower and 1 toilet but no sink. You may not lock the door.

Bedroom: Inmates are locked in their bedroom between 9:00 pm and 7:00 am. The bedroom may have up to five single beds and 1 chair.

No decor of any kind, no large windows, minimal lighting.

No going outside except into a small fenced ‘yard’ area. The yard area may contain a picnic table, a basketball hoop, and up to two of the small gardening planters and one large trash can. You are permitted to keep any food grown in the garden in your personal inventory for snacks but if you lose in a fight, you must drag all of the food onto the victor.

You may use money cheats as needed to create your prison and pay bills, absolutely no jobs! Although you may sell and keep money from painting (or use them for decor). You may use aspiration points to unlock perks which will help your sim get through their prison stay but you may NOT unlock traits for the other prisoners, you should not control them at all.

If a prisoner dies, you must replace them with a new prisoner and keep the tombstone on the lot so the ghost can visit.

No ordering pizza or other food or hiring services of any kind. You may have your sim go out front only to retrieve mail and pay bills, she or he will be escorted in and out by a pretend guard.

You may leave the prison once you have achieved one of the following:
Achieve BFF status with all seven of your fellow prisoners (individually, I know you can’t have more than one BFF at a time), and successfully have a prison marriage with one of the other inmates with soulmate status.

Declare all 7 inmates as sworn enemies, win a physical fight with each and every single one of them.

Spend a total of 3 years (with seasons set to 7 days) in prison.

If your sim dies, you lose the challenge.

I've finished week one of the prison challenge.

    https://youtu.be/422v8ovA4fw

My sim, Cecelia is creative, cheerful and neat - a terrible combination to live with a bunch of mean slobs but that was kind of the point. Initially, the challenge was much too hard with all the time limits I imposed so I had to change the rules.

The prisoners are still locked in their cell from 9:00 pm - 7:00 am but I lifted all time restraints on the kitchen and outdoor time. It was way too complicated trying to get everyone out of the kitchen to re-lock the doors three times a day and all but impossible to make them keep food in the kitchen. It was also nearly impossible trying to figure out which prisoners to keep from going outside for their 'yard time' or which had already had it and if they had their full hour.

Now instead what I'm doing is locking the yard doors around 6:00 or 7:00 pm when it starts getting dark.

Initially I thought this challenge was going to be too easy. I decided to have Cecelia start trying to make friends, but as it turns out she's way too busy keeping herself bathed and fed and keeping the toilet, sink, shower etc. in working order to socialize as much as I thought she would. It's been a sim week and she's not even friends with anyone yet. Of course it doesn't help that all the sims are in a foul mood.

The most difficult time is overnight when all 8 sims are locked in the cell. Inevitably, someone always has to pee or desperately needs to eat, but surprisingly, the lack of beds has not posed a challenge. In fact quite frequently only half the beds are in use while the rest of the girls chat, play on their phones, wet themselves and play musical chairs swapping seated positions one the bed they are all using to chat. I think I might have to start locking the cell during the day to ensure that they are tired from time for lights out.

Also I thought food would be more of an issue, but the girls all seem relatively well fed. I haven't even had to break into Cecelia's stock of carrots from her prison garden. I'm debating what to do to make food more of a challenge. Perhaps the prisoners can only eat what they grow or cook? No quick meals? I'm not sure how to enforce that however. I may have to assign Cecelia to kitchen duty and lock everyone else out. Now she has to provide food for all 8 prisoners! But... actually making a group meal regularly to set out probably wouldn't be that hard either. Any feedback on how to make food more of an issue would be welcomed!

I was also hoping for more fights and yelling and general mayhem but that hasn't really been an issue, the girls all seem pretty happy to chat and get along apart from the odd sim passing out or peeing. Maybe I should do the mean vibe lot trait instead of private dwelling?
