Comments under the spoiler so I don't, well, spoil anything.
Do you have that MC Mod? Maybe that's the culprit for how they decided on their own to elope? I have never had any of my Sims do major things like that in my game. I've heard of couples spontaneously deciding to woo hoo on their own though. The most shocking fully autonomous thing my Sims have ever done is fix a toilet. lol
I love Victor's makeover, great job! I thought he was kinda cute before though too. Good luck to Bertha, I hope she makes it to the end of her career before the end of her life. o.O
I’ve never seen two sims marry autonomously - that’s actually pretty cool. Kinda makes you think they might have minds of their own I think there might be a setting in MC tuner for autonomous marriages so perhaps you have that switched on?
I can’t wait to see what generation B looks like!
Maybe Bertha could wish for a promotion at the Wishing Well?
Maybe it’s a new feature? I’m sure I saw somewhere that MCCC had added more autonomous actions recently. Or maybe it’s just a glitch. Or maybe they do have minds of their own!
Maybe. I haven't downloaded the most recent MCCC, so I can't know for sure. But oh well! I'm not complaining. It was gonna happen the minute they went home anyway.
Did you ever figure out what caused the autonomous woohoo? Sounds like it doesn't matter either way, but just curious. I can't wait to meet the next gen, hopefully soon?
Thanks to everyone for your encouragement and advice concerning my files and the transition to a new computer. Thankfully, everything went smoothly. Even though I still have Ellie, I decided to start out fresh with a different founder for my try at the Prettacy challenge. Her name is Winnie Willoughby and I just started playing with her last night.
I've put my Not So Berry challenge save on hiatus until after Get Famous comes out because I want my founder, her husband and their daughter to all be famous, IF I get the pack. Haven't decided yet. But in the meanwhile, I played and completed an Extreme Rags to Riches challenge and have moved on to Winnie. She's starting out Rags to Riches style too, like the majority of my game play. That might change soon though because it's lottery day and Winnie bought a ticket. I stopped playing this morning before the results so I won't know if she's won until I go back in game later tonight.
I have a question concerning bringing in spouses for this challenge. Winnie has already met her possible future husband/Baby Daddy, but they're just dating at the moment. She has a little 4x3 shack with a single blow-up mattress, tarp shower, bookcase and flower arranging station so far, but that's it. No paint, no flooring, just a door, 1 window and the cheapest wall light. Not exactly a fitting place to raise a child yet. lol If she wins the Lotto, problem solved!
If she doesn't, can she ask her potential partner to move in and use the simoleans he brings to build them a proper house? If not, I guess she'll have to continue collecting, fishing and start flower arranging once her bluebells and snapdragons start producing to save enough for a house. Does she even have to marry this guy and move him in though? Could she just, er, 'use' him to get the next Gen and not get married at all? Not sure about the rules for this challenge, so thought I'd ask.
No idea about the autonomous wedding. I sure I probably selected it on accident. Which is weird and not something I've ever done before in all my years of simming. So yeah... Still no idea lol
As for your money question, this is just a variation of the traditional legacy in which you start off with an ugly founder. So traditional legacy rules state that you cannot keep any money that a spouse brings in. So I guess it's up to you. If you really wanted something before any nooboos arrive than you can keep some or all of the money he brings in. So I guess it just depends on how strict you want to be or not lol
Autonomous wedding? I think your autocorrect is acting up or something. hehe No worries, I know you meant woohoo. Anyway, ah, yeah, that's probably what happened. I've never accidentally hit that myself either. Hope I never do. o.O
Okay, thanks for the clarification. I figured that's how it should go. Winnie didn't win the lottery, Don Lothario won! It's okay though, she's starting to level up in flower arranging and making some decent simoleons, so she should have enough to build a nursery soon. I think I'll have her skip the lottery from now on. Seems kind of cheaty anyway. At least for a Legacy.
@mojot89 I've been seriously thinking about it. I'd need to figure out how to make a new page or whatever for it on Wordpress first. I also need to post a message that my story (if you can call it that, just two chapters really) on there already has been discontinued, change the header, etc. I'm a complete noob when it comes to that software. I'll figure it out eventually though. Thanks for asking and showing an interest in reading if I do manage to get it going!
Well cool, thank you for the offer! I might just have to take you up on that. I'll send you a PM if I get stuck. Very much appreciated!
@Karababy52 ohhh are you going to do a BOTU blog? If you do, will you please tag me in your thread (I’m assuming you’ll make a thread in the forms too). I love reading blogs about this challenge but there’s unfortunately not enough of them for me! I found the Huckles blog which I really enjoy but I need mooooreee

I'm seriously thinking about it, I'll let you know if I do. BTW, I've been reading your story too, not sure if I've commented or not though? Anyway, I've been wondering, what's the difference between BOTU and a Prettacy? I've been inspired by both stories and they seem almost the same with the game play. The only difference I can surmise is with BOTU you only play until you're satisfied all the physical characteristics of the founder have been bred out. But with a Prettacy, you're supposed to go for 10 generations, like a standard Legacy. Right?
I think I'm kinda/sorta doing a combination at the moment with a Rags to Riches style start thrown in via my own personal preferred way to play. For instance, I didn't start on a 64 x 64 lot or buy the Knight statue. Winnie (+ new hubby and baby) lives on the Rippling Flats lot in Newcrest. Wasn't planning on randomizing anything either, but I still might. Need to decide before this new baby ages up to toddler. o.O
@Karababy52 thank you I hope you do decide to blog, but no pressure!
I think you are probably right about the BOTU/prettacy thing. I call mine a BOTU just because I’m not going to go 10 generations (I hope!). My gen 4 heir will be a YA soon and given the progress I’ve made so far I am hoping to produce a normal sim before generation 10. Also, with a prettacy you’re meant to follow legacy rules and count points. I don’t do that. I don’t use cheats, but my founder started with 20,000 simoleons, I have my sims move house quite often and I don’t count points or anything. I also have the rule that the first born child of each generation is heir, whereas I think in a prettacy you have as many kids as possible and the most attractive one is heir.
Okay, so it's pretty much what I thought. I'll probably go the BOTU route, seems more laidback. I don't mind following rules, I've played (and completed) dozens and dozens of challenges. But I've always failed Legacies because eventually the stress involved trying to follow/remember the extensive rules/points and stuff makes it end up feeling to me more like a chore than free-time fun.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE challenges and admire those who can complete Legacies. I just personally can't handle a boatload of intricate rules. lol
Would be thrilled if I did (somehow) manage to reach Gen 10 for once, even if the ugly is bred out beforehand. I've never made it past three in any Legacy type challenge. o.O Didn't blog about them though, so maybe that would be just the incentive I need to keep going? Perhaps I'll find out. *shrugs*
Thanks for listening to my sleep deprived musings. I should get some sleep. Have a great day and Happy Simming!
@Karababy52 I know how you feel about not getting far in legacies. I've never gotten past gen 2 before. But so far, I'm one gen 5 of my Wilde Alphabetacy and Gen 5 of my Drifter challenge. The support I get from the community while blogging them has definitely helped in keeping me going!
