Chapter 1 : Wolfgang at University

    Cast of Characters

    R6mApEh.jpg
Traits - lucky, charismatic, ambitious, great kisser, genius
    LTW - CEO of a mega-corporation

    dzUKQd7.jpg
Traits - supernatural skeptic, good, neat, friendly, artistic
LTW - live in the lap of luxury

In a small city there lived a young man whose only major hardship in his priveleged upbringing was the death of his father a few years previously. Wolfgang Rothman now lived with his mother, Elizabeth, in the mansion her family's fortune had provided her and her husband, William, when they moved to Laguna Coast all those years ago.
    qJyh5HI.jpg

Although Elizabeth's parents never really approved of her marriage to an older man, as their only close relative they provided for her with a substantial trust fund. Elizabeth's only close ties with her past was her girlhood friendship with their housekeeper's daughter, Margaret Flanagan.

Once his adoptive parents died William had also lost touch with his past. And the long hours he worked as Chief of Surgery left William very little time for his family. Elizabeth filled her time with painting, charity work and social functions. Because of her donations the art museum and hospital now bore the Rothman name.

Although Wolfgang was raised in an environment free of hardships, it was also free of close familial ties except for his mother. Their lives were mostly separate, except when Wolfgang escorted her to one of her charity social events or they spent some time around the house playing chess or music together.
    Z039vl5.jpg

So when Woflgang went off to university neither suffered any great anxiety of separation. If fact although Wolfgang's charisma made it easy for him to form relationships he had no good friends - mostly just acquaintances.

At university Wolfgang continued this trend except for a close relationship with his adviser in his degree major of business. He socialized sure, but focused on attending class and studying. He went so far as to try to enhance his studying by taking wonderpetal but suffered the nauseous aftereffects.

The first night of the full moon gave Wolfgang a chill although he did not realize it was a portent of how his life would be changed.

    Chapter 1 : continued

Besides going to class Wolfgang spent time studying and eventually got on the dean's list.

As well as keeping his grades up Wolfgang had fun going to parties.

Wolfgang didn't remember where he met Billie Jean Sparks, an older student, but near the end of the fall term when he had some spare time he decided to try his luck with her.

Older women were just so appreciative of attentions from younger men. Billie Jean in particular was very enthusiatic. They had barely finished when she initiated a second bout.

But Wolfgang had to leave for class.
    y1N5yJl.jpg

Later that night Billie Jean got her chance again when she showed up at a party Wolfgang was at. Worrying about the bed's owner didn't stop her but soon after they finished he kicked them from the party.

Wolfgang wasn't ready for bed when he got home so played on his keyboard for awhile. Playing seemed to sooth him anytime he was upset and cheered him when he was bored.

The next morning Wolf rushed off for his exams.

Then it was home for a quick visit before heading off for his final term.

It snowed the first day of winter.

Over the previous 2 terms Wolfgang had advanced his standing with both the nerds and the jocks. Soon he had a high enough standing with the jocks to earn an additonal trait - irresistible.

The cold and dark encouraged Wolfgang to spend his time indoors when he wasn't going to class.

Near the end of his last term at university Wolfgang decided to end things with Billie Jean before going home.

He figured one last time before breaking it off but she was too hungry to be interested. So he decided to play his keyboard while he waited. Unfortunately she ran off to class before anything more could happen.

When Wolfgang graduated he earned another trait - brave.

Chapter 2 : The Wolf of Wall Street

Since Wolfgang didn't need to go to work until the next day he spent time with his mother, the only person in the world he really cared about besides himself.
    3MwMJ0z.jpg

    They played chess.
    qyeX5oo.jpg

And he took her to the summer festival since she wanted to go. They had fun in a water balloon fight.
    Cx56yMi.jpg

But his boss, Penny Palmer, called him there. Ever since he had called her to introduce himself when he first got the job the night before his boss had already called twice. Once to ask him over to her house, which he declined.
    R5M8pX1.jpg

He was eager to start work his first day but soon learned that in order to advance quickly he needed to suck up to the boss. Her aggressive personality set the tone for how the whole office conducted business.
    JUUxfns.jpg

So when she called him that evening after work to ask him out on a date he complied. But he soon found out that she was only teasing him. That once he had committed to sleeping with her she ended the date satisfied that she could have if she wanted.
    wsTXqTG.jpg

To make a bad night worse a burglar attempted to rob the Rothman house.
    KDxNjyb.jpg

The robber regretted that when Wolfgang took out some of his frustration on him.
    WhfXAIe.jpg

Wolfgang worked hard on a merger the company was involved in staying late and meeting all his coworkers. He had learned how to swim with the sharks in the corporate waters and advanced very quickly.
    IUTbTbv.jpg

On Friday after a long day at work he worked out at the gym and soaked in the hot tub to relax. Afterward he was ready for some action so went to the dance club, which was that night's hot spot.
    0INIzO2.jpg

Some of his predator attitude from work spilled over into his social life. He ignored the female wanting to ask if he had a partner until he was finished eating. They danced but he left her pursuit for the next day, Saturday.
    LgCramj.jpg

He got up early and went jogging to the library where he advanced some of his skills.

    rUTNDz3.jpg

When he was sure that she was awake Wolfgang went across the street to get to know her better.
    wNr0QXT.jpg
    IuqqoNV.jpg
Afterward Wolfgang quickly forgot her name and showed no consideration for her feelings, the same way that he conducted business with no consideration to the employees of the companies that he and his company acquired and often dismantled.

The only person, other than himself, that Wolfgang had any true feelings for was his mother. They had become close after his father died when he was a teenager. His mother , Elizabeth, gave to charities, painted
    NCeJFcX.jpg

and spent time with her son when he was home from work. They often played music together.
    ABbPxE0.jpg

Because of his ability to sniff out weak prey via the stock market and his relentless pursuit until his company had taken them over Wolfgang acquired the nickname "wolf of wall street". By end of the next Tuesday he was made CEO, his lifetime wish, and given an opportunity to pursue a company in France.

    Chapter 3: A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

The company in France that Wolfgang was sent to acquire was owned by Claudine Girard who had inherited it from her deceased husband. Her husband had started the company out as a nectary but it was in the process of expanding into the potion and elixir market. This was why they were in need of capital for ramping up production for that segment of the company. And it was why they were willing to consider selling a chunk of their stock to an outsider. The Girards owned 75% of their stock and a local rival had bought up 25% from her husband. The Girards thought they could safely sell 30% and still remain the majority stockholder. Little did they know that Wolfgang's company had already made a deal to sell to that rival at quite a profit. Wolfgang was sent to charm the Girards into selling the stock to his company so they could make a killing.
    0C9Yvtk.jpg

His good looks and smooth charm won over Claudine but although she was the nominal head of the company, her daughter, Berthe, was the power behind the scene and the prime influence for the expansion.
    6KXbgHo.jpg

Fortunately he found her attractive and had no problem winning her over.
    a3p7Fy4.jpg

He even managed to romance her into staying with him at the inn for his 6 day stay.
    l3yIpMQ.jpg

While he was still winning them over he explored the various tombs in the area and went on adventures. He used working toward his visa levels as an excuse to interact with their rival without suspicions and to make sure that the deal went through.
    UuD7Fna.jpg
    c7x9WaI.jpg

While Wolfgang was out and about Berthe continued working on her elixir formulas.
    o5o00Rt.jpg
    pTocBPG.jpg

But every evening and every morning Wolfgang renewed Berthe's interest in him. And they were always quite clean.
    eaCPA2l.jpg

One afternoon he went to the nectery to complete a task and every woman in the place, and most of the men, seemed to want a piece of him. He guessed it was the price for being irresistible and he was quite willing to pay.
    IVeiJ8T.jpg

As soon as he got back to his inn to get another adventure there was a very attractive woman waiting for him.
    afmRzPM.jpg

He and Margot Petit fell in instant love/lust, so much so she asked him to go steady and he was unable to resist.
    AUIqs4O.jpg

So of course he took advantage of the situation.
    G69yont.jpg

On the last day of his stay all his business plans fell into place. When he kissed Berthe goodbye for the day she may have been thinking of love but he was thinking of all the money this deal was going to make.
    Wybbc2C.jpg

Wolfgang made a date with Margot to tie up lose ends by breaking up with her. But not before one last time.
    ixCXPDr.jpg

Little did he know that Berthe had found out about his underhanded business deal and came to confront him about it, only to find him in bed with Margot.
    cPy9C9E.jpg

She was furious, accusing him of being a wolf in sheep's clothing and told him his disguise would be harder to maintain in the future. Until he learned to consider others before himself his beastly nature would show through when he least expected it. With that she cast an elixir that turned him into a werewolf.
    p4Xt3wQ.jpg
    nZX94MP.jpg
    nP3muby.jpg

Berthe rejected him ending their romantic relationship.
    it25hQh.jpg

He got angry for being turned into a werewolf.
    FO8XAZr.jpg

Margot tried to comfort him but he repaid her by breaking up with her.
    kqxO9iJ.jpg

That did it for her and she became angry.
    5oJZcfZ.jpg

All the anger and heartache triggered his first transformation.
    bWXTVKv.jpg

He took it out on Margot.
    uXzEALC.jpg

But quickly felt ashamed. She did not deserve his treatment.
    VuWFoe3.jpg

That feeling of shame accompanied him home. He hoped that his mother could not tell. He dreaded her finding out since she had such an aversion to the occult.
    t5F5Tm5.jpg

But she already suspected something was wrong.

    Chapter 4 : Lone Wolf

Although Wolfgang told his mother of everything that happened in France, glossing over his culpability, he did not show her his werewolf form right away. She was already asleep the night before when he got the urge to transform and went out to hunt.
    GTzNixE.jpg
    kqp0EDM.jpg
    uufCU6R.jpg

He stayed in werewolf form and when he woke up the next morning he noticed one of his new disgusting habits. He didn't seem to be able to control it.
    4gLpM6P.jpg

When he showed her how he looked he joked about how good looking he was. She in turn joked about her non-existent gamer skills. They got along famously.
    i6vndi5.jpg

His mother had been spending a lot of time on her laptop lately but mostly to write her novel that was loosely based on her girlhood memories.
    VNyVLbY.jpg

When his mother got invited to a spooky day party Wolfgang decided to go in his werewolf form. Maybe they would think it was part of his costume and he could see how people reacted to him. Riding in the limo that his work had provided since his promotion to CEO reminded his mother of growing up with 2 chauffeurs and 3 double garages full of cars.
    lt09Mc9.jpg

At the party Wolf met the host and the teen daughter of the house. They seemed to respond to him normally.
    EJpD2kv.jpg

Afterward he and his mother decided to go to the spooky day festival at the park where Wolf met several sims. They even participated in a pie eating contest.
    3ucyqJT.jpg

Wolf noticed that he was starting to feel aggressive, wanting to establish himself as the alpha male, wanting to claim the women and fight the men. The more he felt that aggression the more he could smell their fear or excitement or both. He started to realize the subtlety of this curse. There was no external enemy to fight, only himself. He had allowed his aggressive side to take over even before the curse, which now only emphasized that imbalance.

Wolf decided until he had gotten rid of this curse he would not form any romantic connections. But since he was feeling frisky he decided to visit the professional ladies. As he was about to make an assignation at the day spa the full moon initiated his transformation and they wanted nothing to do with him.
    yFUQ4dZ.jpg

He went to work the next few days and got another promotion but he noticed his aggression was even more prominent. He didn't like how he was becoming. It scared him. The more he felt attraction to a female or aggression toward a male the harder it was for him to keep from turning into his wolf form. He wanted his humanity back. He needed to do something. He would look for a cure but in the meantime he would stay away from people as much as possible.

The first thing he did was quit his job but that didn't quite stop him from thinking up ways to make money. He could always become partners in various businesses.
    zEHLetW.jpg

Maybe Berthe was right he needed to be more considerate. Maybe that would cure him. He decided to do unselfish acts for his mother.

He made sure to make the beds so she wouldn't need to climb the stairs.
    KfiGYkm.jpg
He bought her a fixer upper car just like the one she had fond memories of from her girlhood.
    kRkb8V9.jpg
He fixed her computer when she wore it out writing her novel, Driving with Duckies.
    gHEGIUa.jpg
He had a greenhouse built so she could have roses even in winter. Her favorite flower. (That didn't quite work out.)
    5sBIFRW.jpg
    g5GQhSm.jpg
    s45M0J0.jpg

But were they really unselfish? Wasn't he doing them for his benefit too - to try to cure his curse. Maybe the more he practiced putting others before himself the more it would become second nature until he would be behaving altruistically solely for their benefit.

Wolfgang decided to be proactive in finding a cure so he traveled to Moonlight Falls. He had heard rumors so decided there would be his best bet in finding a cure. He talked to the proprietor of the local alchemy shop who was very knowledgeable. She had a cure but it didn't work on him. When she heard all the details of his curse she told him that it was a special version of the werewolf curse that required true love to be cured. She had heard of a case where the cursed werewolf could cure himself when his fiance asked him to. Wolf was quite discouraged to hear this.
    GFhY6Q5.jpg

While in Moonlight Falls Wolfgang met several werewolves who belonged to a pack. They seemed to accept him, although there might be a problem with one married couple, but Wolfgang was not sure if he could subordinate himself to their established alpha. And if he could fit in would he then become so comfortable with his circumstances that he would stop trying to regain his human nature?
    yLTCnf5.jpg

Resigned to being a lone wolf with no pack mates Wolfgang returned to Laguna Coast. His mother seemed like his best chance to keep him trying. One consolation was his music.
    ABbPxE0.jpg

One night late his mother got a call from her old girlhood friend, Margaret, asking for a favor. It seemed her daughter, Kathy, had just graduated from college and gotten a job right here in Laguna Coast. Margaret wanted Elizabeth to let Kathy stay with her until she could get established on her own. Elizabeth said she would check with her son but was sure that her goddaughter could stay there permanently if she wanted.
    I0TAUzg.jpg

When his mother told him the next morning Wolf moved permanently up to the third floor leaving his second floor bedroom for their guest.
    whM95nF.jpg
    UuZavoc.jpg

At first Wolf was a little disgruntled that that family was still imposing on his. He remembered Kathy as a plain, boring teen that he met at his grandmother's and grandfather's funerals. (His grandfather had died within weeks of his beloved wife's death.) He couldn't understand how that family had gotten their hooks into his to the extent that all three generations of the women had been left substantial provisions in his grandparents' wills.
    rnPMKkm.jpg

As Wolfgang thought about it longer maybe he could use this development to his advantage. Kathy's obvious desire for wealth and her plain looks would make her an easy conquest. All he had to do was get her to fall in love with him, agree to marry him and have her ask him to give up his werewolf ways.

Chapter : 5 Driving with Duckies

Getting a complimentery copy of her new novel, "Driving with Duckies", caused Elizabeth to chuckle thinking about her pet name for Margaret.

Mrs Flanagan had been hired as the family's new housekeeper shortly after the previous one had been fired for not keeping a close eye on toddler Elizabeth. There would be no such problem with Mrs Flanagan because she brought her own toddler, Margaret, with her. Mrs Flanagan had been in sudden need of supporting herself and her daughter after her husband had been killed in the fighting overseas. When Elizabeth saw her for the first time Margaret was just growing back her shaved off hair after getting some gum stuck in it. Elizabeth had just learned one of her first words two days earlier when they had seen some baby ducks. When she saw Margaret's fuzzy yellow head she yelled out "Duckies". Everyone laughed and made such a big deal about it that she repeated it as much as possible. Pretty soon Margaret was know in the family by her new nickname. This lasted until Margaret went to school when she insisted that they call her by her "real" name. Elizabeth still called her Duckies sometimes but only when they were alone together.
    lNwCZMK.jpg
    qltuAk2.jpg

From the beginning the girls became inseparable and they were raised the same. The Spencer's made sure that Margaret had the same schooling and lessons as their daughter Elizabeth. And when Mrs Flanagan had Margaret do chores Elizabeth helped. So the girls had a broad education that included ballet lessons and soccer and dusting dining room table and chair legs and learning to cook by helping in the kitchen.
    DjE5fBg.jpg
    bnQO4Jz.jpg

    They told each other everything.
    bVrf8Ar.jpg
But all that started to change after Tommy Hayward was hired.

That late night call from Margaret got Elizabeth feeling nostalgic. She went digging through her shoe box of old photos looking for the one of the household taken at the end of summer right before senior year when Tommy Hayward had been hired.
    AMxsgFE.jpg
Left to right: Mrs Flanagan, Margaret, Cedric and Cynthia Spencer, Elizabeth, Tommy Hayward and Becker.

The Spencers lived in an average sized house that had 2 double car garages attached and a separate garage with living quarters above for Becker, their main chauffeur, and Tommy Hayward who was hired as a handyman and second chauffeur.
    FAKYurD.jpg

Although Mr Spencer was a car enthusiast he preferred not to have to deal with the down town traffic and parking so had Becker drive him to and from his banking investment office and to any meetings during the day. Becker also drove Mrs Spencer on her frequent shopping trips, she liked to have him carry her parcels, but she often drove herself on her other trips out and about town. Becker also sometimes ran errands and picked up groceries for Mrs Flanagan when she had to stay home with the girls.
    2rVc4QL.jpg
    CQfQy0q.jpg

Mr Spencer became governor about the same time he got a fixer upper car that need extensive work done on it. The girls seemed to have more soccer practices and games and more dance lessons they need to be taken to and from. Also someone would need to teach them to drive. So Tommy Hayward was hired to relieve much of these responsibilities from Becker.
    2iAUZ8z.jpg

The girls particularly noticed such a good looking and charming man around the place who wasn't but a couple of years older than they were.
    I1w0Z9a.jpg
    And he noticed them.
    C59QWn9.jpg

Tommy seemed taken with Margaret at first until he met them and found out Elizabeth was the daughter of the house.
    HMuAWe6.jpg
    XFC9UvT.jpg

Both girls developed a secret crush on him and suddenly had to be taken on various errands.
    viBiNIm.jpg
    Gmovu9w.jpg

Of course each girl arranged for Tommy to teach them to drive. The girls referred to him that way as Tommy even though the rest of the household called him Hayward.
    gMPYgv4.jpg
    D1QeNxT.jpg
Although Tommy did spend time teaching them to drive, quite a bit of time was also spent parking. Either Margaret picked up driving very quickly or Tommy didn't spend as much time parking with her because she learned to drive and got her license and Elizabeth did not.

Now that Margaret could drive she took them both to school and all their lessons. The girls also went on excursions into the surrounding countryside which Elizabeth liked to refer to as "driving with Duckies". It was the last of their innocent and carefree times together before they each discovered how romantically involved Tommy was with the other.
    Aj2BWWw.jpg
    kaUbvWM.jpg
    8V2ltce.jpg

Near the Christmas break Elizabeth's parents found out what was going on. They fired Tommy on the spot. Since Elizabeth had enough credits to graduate come June they got permission to take her out of the private school the girls attended and to send her off to finishing school. A rift developed between the girls that only widened with separation. During the spring holiday Elizabeth went to a house party at a new friend's house where she met an older man who was just finishing up his surgical residency, William Rothman. When Elizabeth came home for her graduation William came with her.
    Ckw6r4F.jpg

Margaret and Elizabeth mended their rift but they were never quite as close as they had been.
    izlJRNE.jpg
    jeOigWf.jpg

William got her parents reluctant approval (he was so much older than their daughter but he could have been worse). William proposed and he and Elizabeth seemed very happy with each other.
    yKCvnjC.jpg

    First came the girls' graduation.
    k7znBw7.jpg
    pUG6Ex2.jpg

Then in a couple of months the wedding. A surprise visitor showed up for it, Tommy. Mr Spencer didn't want to cause a scene so allowed him to stay if he behaved.
    LAVAId8.jpg
    jQaQFwn.jpg

It was a beautiful ceremony held in the back yard.
    yUVCcGF.jpg
    o0Cw5j6.jpg

Elizabeth was no longer fooled by Tommy's charming flirting but she could see that Margaret was still under his spell.
    wGTCWbC.jpg
    2Yh0G8r.jpg

William and Elizabeth moved to Laguna Coast so he could start his new position at the hospital there. Their wonderful baby boy, Wolfgang, was born after a year. Margaret went away to college with financial help from the Spencers. Tommy Hayward joined the military and was stationed overseas. After a couple of years Elizabeth learned that Margaret and Tommy were married and expecting a baby soon. When Kathleen was born Elizabeth went to her christening to stand in as godmother. Although she and Margaret wrote each other that was the last time they visited. Margaret could not travel because she had no one to take care of the children while she was away and Elizabeth did not feel comfortable around Tommy's continual flirting. In spite of all of that Elizabeth and Margaret retained their strong friendship, if from a distance.

    Chapter 6: Kathleen

Kathleen didn't remember much from her early years before she went to live with her grandmother at the Spencers' house. Her grandmother had come to visit the Hayward household to take care of Kathleen and her sisters while their mother was in the hospital. Kathy understood that the reason her grandmother took her home with her at the end of her visit was because Kathy and her father didn't get along together very well.

Life with the Spencers and her grandmother was idyllic except for the extra studying Kathy had to do to catch up on her school work. The Spencers managed to get her into the same private school her mother and "Aunt" Elizabeth attended even though Kathy didn't start first grade until December when she had turned 6. In the first few years of school Kathy needed to spend that extra time studying but by the time she was at the top of her class it was already an established habit. Although Kathy caught up to her classmates academically she never managed to catch up emotionally or socially. She felt more comfortable with children a year or two younger than her or with adults.

Although Mrs Spencer was away from the home regularly with her social gatherings and charity meetings Mr Spencer spent almost every day at home now that he was retired from business and government. Even so Kathy received so much attention from both the Spencers and her grandmother it was like she had 3 grandparents. Her grandmother Flanagan showered her with love and care and taught Kathy how to cook and clean and to set a proper table.
    H5Cl59F.jpg

Mr Spencer emphasized the importance of reading because it was needed to learn most other things. At first he read to Kathy every day but then after she learned how would have her read to him. On weekends, holidays and over summer he taught her how to play children's card games, board games, dominoes, checkers and then chess. Most importantly in the beginning he taught her how to use the computer.
    I6hEenR.jpg

Mrs Spencer taught Kathy how to behave like a lady, how to walk gracefully and about all the intricacies of good manners and etiquette.
    YmV87rr.jpg

Often the whole household would watch TV programs together. Kathy's opinions and comments were just as welcome as everyone else's.
    ixUjuYF.jpg

All that changed when Kathy's mother convinced her grandmother to bring her back home when her grandmother came to look after the Hayward household when her little brother, Alec, was born. Soon after her grandmother went back home the family was given some hand-me-down clothes from the neighbors. Kathy refused to wear the boy's blue jeans. It wasn't that they were used but that they were "boys". Kathy had not yet realized how poor they were, living on her father's sargent's pay in comparison to the Spencers. Her father went ballistic, yelling at her how the Spencers had spoiled her. When he started kicking Kathy her mother intervened only to be slapped so hard her fell to the floor. When Kathy went to console her mother she begged Kathy not to provoke her father. In order to protect her mother Kathy began the long, slow process of curtailing her naturally outspoken, rebellious nature.

Kathy had many opportunities at the nightly diner table to learn this self-control. She sat on the right hand of her father and whenever she contradicted or disagreed with anything he said he'd whip out his hand and slap her face saying she shouldn't talk back. Her mother's only comment was that Kathy needed to learn to keep her mouth shut. Over the years Kathy did learn to keep her opinions to herself. And when she realized her father was purposely baiting her she knew she had him beat. She would just look at him with a slight smirk of contempt knowing that unlike him she didn't need others to agree with her to know her opinion was valid.

Life settled into a measure of harmony until Alec became school aged and their mother, Margaret, got a job. Since Margaret had a college degree she got a job that paid twice as much as her husband. The shift in finances resulted in a shift in power within the family which didn't sit well with their father, Tommy. When he accepted a transfer he left the family behind and he and Margaret separated. When he sent a nasty letter to her mother she came crying to Kathy to be consoled. In the letter he accused Margaret of caring more for the children than him. He said he only courted her because the Spencers had rejected him for their precious Elizabeth. He said that the only reason he married her was because she trapped him by getting pregnant. He railed against the Spencers. Although the letter devastated her mother it made Kathy angry and at the same time seemed to lift a burden she didn't realize she was carrying. She now understood why her father never liked her and why they never got along. She vowed never to marry a man like her father.

Soon tragedy, the Spencers died, one right after the other. The family went to the funerals and the reading of the wills where they learned that each generation had received some money. Mrs Flanagan got enough to retire to a nice retirement home. Margaret got enough for a down payment for a house. And Kathleen had received enough to supplement a college scholarship. Kathy wondered if part of the reason for the Spencers' generosity to their family was because they knew about the situation with Tommy Hayward and felt guilty for bringing him into Margaret's life.

At the funerals they met the Rothman family. One person who took an instant dislike to their family was the Spencers' grandson, Wolfgang. Kathy thought he was so cold to her because he was jealous of her close relationship with his grandparents, especially his grandfather. Although Kathy resented his attitude toward her she couldn't help being attracted to him. Even as a teen he was everything she admired in a man - good looking, confident, outgoing, smart, charming and generally nice, at least to others besides herself. Over the years he became the standard against which she measured every other man she met.

I really like your story so far. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie and you're getting the "Beast's" backstory here down great :)

@Hank0822 and @Mea_93 Thank you so much. I'm glad you like it so far.

I've played I little more and realize that being a werewolf in Sims 3 is not much of a deterrent to forming relationships. When I bring Kathy, my "beauty", into the game I wanted Wolfgang to need to get her to love him as he is (after he finished transforming his inner self of course) but that the process would be difficult. In my game I just took Wolfgang out to a spooky day party and a teenager girl he met did not react repulsed at all. In fact at the end of a few friendly interaction they were good friends. So I've decided to swap out some of his traits and impose some rules to make the whole process more of a challenge. Irresistible became grumpy. Charismatic became socially awkward. And Ambitious became loner. I also took away his attractive LTR.

The next chapter may be a little while because it is a flashback of Elizabeth's life when she was a teenager and growing up with "Duckies", Margaret Flanagan the daughter of her family's housekeeper and the mother of Kathy. Although I won't really play much in that scenario I do need to build the mansion (done), and create the characters (half done) for a few pictures.

Then the next chapter will be close to present time but in a different town when Kathy goes to college.

Then finally Kathy will be brought into the Rothman household and we'll see how a shy, un-flirty "girl" responds to a grumpy, socially awkward, loner werewolf.

Considering the Beast in the film pretty much had traits like grumpy, loner and awkward I think it'll help the story go along smoothly anyway :)

    7. Kathy Goes to College

After Tommy Hayward deserted his family the household consisted of Kathleen, her brother Alec, her mother Margaret, and sisters Andrea and Janet. Since her mother did not believe in divorce Kathy feared if her father decided to return he would be back in their lives again.
    uKz3eiZ.jpg

For a long time Kathy's goal had been to get good enough grades to earn a college scholarship to go away to school to escape her home situation. With the help of the money from the Spencers and her high score on the entrance exam Kathy was about to realize her dream.
    41jASzt.jpg

But college became more than a means to escape her home situation. Starting with her first day at the dorm, meeting the other students was a cultural shock. The introduction of other ethnicities, the open display of teen-aged sexuality, the expressions of rebellion against the way of dressing that she was used to and the choice of subjects all were eye-openers for Kathy.
    x9nAU77.jpg
    FPcdqGv.jpg

She was no longer automatically the smartest person in her classes. There were people smarter and more knowledgeable. And in her classes on literature and philosophy everyone was encouraged to express their opinions. It was a very liberating process.
    IeCd4Ty.jpg

In spite of working very hard to remain on the dean's list and maintaining her scholarship Kathleen did manage to socialize and to even go a little wild.
    5Ch46gn.jpg
    f8BPG7m.jpg
    fxuZeJS.jpg

By her second term Kathy had developed a crush on one of the technology course instructors, Wade Anthony. He seemed to be perfect for her, nothing like her father. By this time Kathleen had realized the failure of her parent's marriage was not entirely her father's fault. Her mother would berate Kathy's father for his ignorance. Kathy wanted to be able to respect her partner. Wade was well educated (had his masters and was working on his PHD), was well mannered and came from an upper middle-class family. As an undergraduate at a different college he majored in mathematics and minored in philosophy and when he got his masters in logic was on the college debate team. He seemed exactly what she was looking for in a man - someone she could respect.
    ne4sAIf.jpg

They fell into a relationship when he invited her to several parties where she was the only one to show up. They ended up talking and discussing philosophy and would often just read books together. Kathy borrowed books from him that introduced her to many thought-provoking ideas. Because he feared them getting caught, resulting in him losing his chance at tenure, he never took their relationship to the next level.
    Y63rBUu.jpg

But by the time Kathy went home at the end of the 2 terms she was feeling dissatisfied with their relationship and was glad they hadn't become more involved. When Wade had quoted his favorite philosopher, Schopenhauer - "Women are directly adapted to act as the nurses and educators of our early childhood, for the simple reason that they themselves are childish, foolish, and short-sighted" - alarm bells went off in Kathy's head.

Their discussions often ended up as debates. He had a very absolute view of life, everything was either black or white and any subject had only one right interpretation or solution. Kathy believed more in shades of grey. That many interpretations or solutions were fine and that everyone did not have to agree. That was not acceptable to him. He always strived to prove there was only one right view - his. One debate devolved to the point where he said that it might be a matter of opinion but his opinion was more informed because he was better educated so it was the right one.

Kathleen went back to university for her 3rd and final term feeling like a new, confident woman. She decided to get contacts and a new hair style to fit this new feeling.
    OruBSQS.jpg

Besides keeping her grades up Kathleen juggled her relationship with Wade. He was still one of her instructors so she didn't want to alienate him by breaking off with him completely but she did manage to cool things down to the point that they mostly just read together. Since Wade was a workaholic and a loner he settled into this change in their relationship with no problem. He had probably also realized they were not a good fit.
    7D78J1p.jpg

Kathy now knew that respect was not gained because of money, education, ethnicity or looks but because a person respected themselves, had confidence in themselves, and accepted themselves and others. If someone could not accept themselves as they were how could they accept others. A person who was comfortable with themselves and what they believed would not need others to agree with them or to rely solely on the ideas of experts to validate their opinions. They would not need to intimidate others to agree with them either through physical threat or intellectual brow-beating.
    Cj7mEh1.jpg

Kathy graduated with straight "A"s and got her diploma in Technology. She was offered a job with Doo Peas Corporation in Laguna Coast as a Video Game Developer.
    7e0Drm4.jpg

Besides her degree her time at university provided her the chance to gain some perspective on her past and to resolve her issues with her father. Kathy was no longer looking for someone "not like her father" but rather, when she was ready, someone who was confident and accepting of themselves and others.
    pzGA60J.jpg
    lLUYf3l.jpg

Kathleen was no longer running away from something, her past, but toward something, her future.

Chapter 8. Kathy Meets the Big Bad Wolf

Kathleen arrived at the Rothman mansion in Laguna Coast on Sunday the first day of winter ready to start working at her new job the next day. Remembering how he treated her when they met as teens at his grandparents' funerals Kathy was a little apprehensive of meeting Wolfgang again. But she reasoned if things got too bad she could move out and find her own place as soon as possible.
    BOLPmWV.jpg

"Aunt" Elizabeth welcomed Kathleen warmly and in the process she explained about Wolfgang's curse so that when Kathy met him it would not be such a shock.
    oL7wnDF.jpg

They both joined in a jam session he started.
    ktpNKfl.jpg

It wasn't until Wolfgang got up from the piano that Kathy realized he was in his werewolf form. Even though his mother had prepared her, Kathy was shocked at his transformation. Gone was the confident, handsome, outgoing man she remembered. In his stead was a tentative, grumpy , ugly beast.
    ENtVZFe.jpg

    Wolfgang's table manners were non-existent.
    z0YsGlZ.jpg
And when he sniffed her inappropriately ...
    K4VwzVJ.jpg
Kathy let him know she would not put up with that.
    PojtyiB.jpg
She knew she had to stand firm or he would end up bullying her so Kathy didn't make it easy for Wolf when he apologized. Amazingly enough that incident seemed to clear the air for them and they settled into an easy, friendly relationship.

The next day Kathy went to work at her new job in the video game developer career.

During the day while she was at work Elizabeth painted.

And Wolfgang upgraded the plumbing and cared for his garden.

Sometimes when she got home Kathy played computer games to keep her skills up.
    OA7U7cN.jpg

Other times she played chess with Wolfgang.
    gaHWcXF.jpg

The way he ate still bothered her but Kathy realized it was not entirely his fault.
    FZqUwV9.jpg

Kathleen and Wolfgang's friendship strengthened as they followed this routine through the rest of winter. Although Wolfgang was aware of his deepening feelings for Kathy, she seemed completely unaware of hers for him. As long as they stayed secluded from the outside world Kathy could hide from her feelings.

But spring brought new opportunities to venture forth into the town.

Wolf, Elizabeth and Kathy visited the Flamingo Club when it was the hot spot for the night.

    They attended parties.

And went to the spring festival.

Wolfgang's mother, Elizabeth, had a birthday and became an elder.

    WydAU70.jpg

One day on the way to the park they passed their new neighbor moving into an apartment right across the street. In comparing the tall handsome neighbor to Wolfgang, crouched over and hopping along the street, Kathy felt embarrassed to be seen with him. Then she felt ashamed that she let what others' might think spoil what they had.
    E1P4c2B.jpg

But nothing got rid of the feeling that their relationship was wrong so Kathy threw herself into expanding her circle of friends and acquaintances. She had allowed herself to be cut off from the rest of the world and she wanted to break free of the hold Wolfgang seemed to have on her. Kathy started going out in town on her own. First she took a guitar class and when she left the theater one of the aging population died. She took that opportunity to meet everyone there.
    voxaNbU.jpg

Kathy visited Leon Brenner, the aspiring rock star neighbor, to welcome him into the neighborhood.
    u6P9apD.jpg

When Kathy went dancing at the Club Flamingo she met Drogo Gamboa, a scientist. She attended a party at his apartment the the next night.
    gzxbnc3.jpg

Kathleen finally decided she needed to move into an apartment of her own to establish her independence. Although Wolfgang was devastated that Kathy was leaving him, he realized she would need to accept her feelings for him on her own. He hoped that by letting her go she would come back to him. Although it hurt, Wolfgang helped her move.
    HhZZqxe.jpg

To go with her new independent life Kathy got a new hair style and a new work outfit.
    euk2OCW.jpg

Kathy threw a party where everyone had a fantastic, awesome time.

The next night after her party Kathy went to the hot spot for the night, The Lincoln Lounge and Hotel, where Drogo showed up.
    BRBaQqP.jpg

Kathy took him home with her...
    z8zEu6q.jpg
where she asked him to spend the night. While Drogo thought of her when he slept, Kathy thought that this was an expression of her freedom.
    fdlpPdv.jpg

The next day after taking a class in writing for her work Kathy decided to visit the Rothmans since she realized that Elizabeth was getting older and would not be around much longer.
    yxjBfC4.jpg
After talking with Elizabeth and jamming with her and Wolfgang, Wolfgang asked Kathy to play soccer. She was quite impressed with his superior skills.
    PKvTeZq.jpg

Kathy visited the library to write. When Drogo showed up she went to talk and flirt with him. When he told her that she had him wrapped around her little finger Kathy realized she has not been fair to him since she did not return his feelings. Although Drogo was everything she could ever hope for in a partner something kept her from committing herself. And she knew that any couple with such unequal feelings would not last.
    nqcWsB1.jpg

Back at her apartment Kathy improved her writing for work by working on her 2nd novel. This time a sci/fi one. But couldn't seem to concentrate because she kept wondering how to let Drogo down easily.
    HlQg7DS.jpg

A few days later Kathy found out Drogo was already involved with someone else so all that worrying was for nothing. He must have realized how she felt by her lack of response to his declaration. So Kathy decided to go jogging to the beach on the last day of summer to get her mind off of everything...

and to take advantage of the afternoon sun.

    The Girl Who Cried Wolf

After leaving the beach Kathy was drawn to the Rothman mansion. Wolf was pleasantly surprised by her visit.

Kathy flirted and Wolf was smitten all over again.

Wolf and Kathy spent the rest of the afternoon with Elizabeth, enjoying some of their last times with her.

The next day, Sunday, Elizabeth went to the City Hall to receive an award recognizing her artistic contributions to the city.

That night Wolfgang took his mother to the opening of the fall festival.

The next day while Wolfgang and his mother are working in the garden, the Grim Reaper came for Eilzabeth.

    Wolf was devastated.
    Yhdydjk.jpg

Even his music didn't ease his pain.
    JE5v75A.jpg

Although Kathleen was saddened by Elizabeth's death she realized how much more Wolf was suffering, how alone he felt and her heart went out to him.
    pwNZZt7.jpg

As the plants in Wolf's garden turned barren and died it seemed the whole world was sad, shedding leaves as tears.
    g5GQhSm.jpg

Wolfgang mourned his mother's passing but realized some of that sadness was selfish because it was for himself, his feelings of loss and fear of his own mortality.
    ECpDn09.jpg

So Wolfgang decided to hold a wake to celebrate his mother's life. He hoped Kathy would be there. He needed her support.
    A1yO1SV.jpg

Kathy realized that the reason she could never fully commit to a relationship with anyone else was because she loved Wolf all along even if he was a werewolf and did not exactly fit into her mold of a perfect partner.

Wolf asked Kathy to move in with him and she agreed. Wolf was greatly comforted by her acceptance of him.
    DkFmbxT.jpg

After the guests left Wolf confessed his feelings for Kathy and they became romantic interests. Kathy then asked Wolf to give up being a werewolf.

Although Wolf had become accepting of his werewolf condition he was happy to comply. He went into the spa as a werewolf

When he returned home their courtship continued. They admired the romantic picture they took.

Both Wolf and Kathy fell in love with the island and decided it was time for a change. They were not sure where they would move but as soon as they got back from their honeymoon they would be moving to someplace warm and sunny. Because Kathy had a heightened fertility for 24 hours due to the romantic massage Wolfgang gave her, when they tried for baby that night she was sure she was pregnant. They left the next morning so they could pack up and be moved to their new home before the baby was born.

I like the main characters of your story, and the images are beautiful, both the ones from University and the ones of your version of Laguna Coast! And the beach wedding too, of course!

Maybe one day, but probably not any time soon. I've got several games going now. I keep jumping around trying new things.

I have saved the household of Wolf and a pregnant Kathy so that I can move them to a new town to raise their family. (My game in Laguna Coast was beginning to lag.) I was thinking maybe Sunlit Tides since they liked it so much from their wedding and short honeymoon.

    Thanks for your interest.
