Ever since I finally had a good enough computer and graphics card to allow me to enable reflections on water, I absolutely love any scene that includes water.
I love how Sims 3 is so open, it can be tailored to fit many play styles, it has many areas where simmers can be creative if they want to -
1. it can easily be modded
2. custom content can easily be incorporated into the game
3. CASt
4. CAW and CAP
5. open world
6. it is a sandbox so no pressure to follow a certain path in game play or as another said - freedom
7. there is so much content - worlds, venues, sets, occult types, clothes, activities, traits, etc - that even after 9 years there is plenty of things left to try in depth and to explore
I am very impressed with your family tree! My saves seem to never be able to last longer than two generations until they for various reasons become unplayable, what is your secret?
I would suggest translation: "child born of married/unmarried parents" since children are never illegitimite in themselves
It most definitely is, I‘ve created a whole new virtual reality with the game the last couple of years that has become so dear to me as if it were real.
2010-2018 and this tree isn’t done yet. It won’t until they’ll come up with a successor that can replace it.
Now that is impressive. I'm on to my 12 generation. I'd be further along if I didn't revolve around 7 games and then Sims 4 arrived.
I play both, and love both with their differences. I'll never say goodbye to my TS3 families - unless something awful happens to my game - which since there are no more updates, don't seem to happen anymore
I've been using cheats a lot more now though, just for new content.

My secret is I haven’t played 21 generations in one save I change worlds every now and then and also restart whenever I encounter a bug or saving starts to take minutes. The bin system is perfect for that and ever since I installed Mastercontroller I can even restore family ties (and before I had MC I actually used the fact family ties getting broken because the game may forbid cousins to fall in love, in reality it’s permitted in many countries like my own and I love reusing the genetics of my own sims).
Yes, you’re probably right about the translation, I used a translator for that. In my language the term is literally ‘outside (buiten) marital (echtelijk)’.
@JoAnne65 I have noticed on some strange occasion that the game sometimes actually revognises Sims if you move them from one save to another. The two Sims would be strangers but the game does actually know that they had been related in a previous save

Yes, even relatives (vanilla you mean, two sims who ‘knew’ they were sisters in my new game). But it didn’t function 100%, in terms of family tree.
@JoAnne65 I forgot to mention the family trees don’t reform. You would need mods to do that but the Sims would still know that they are related. You would need to build up their friendships as well
@Nikkei_Simmer that first car is gorgeous. It is worth getting Baby out of bed to test drive it. Where did you find it please ?

Wherever I am friends call me Betty
It's the Bugatti Chiron - one of the fastest and most expensive cars in the world. $3M-4M (depending on what options you have on the vehicle) in real world currency - §2.5M in simoleons (in the game)
Haruo (the sim) owns two Lambos (a Murcielago and a Huracan Performante) and the Bugatti Chiron. Yeah, He and River are stinkin' rich. I'm sure Parker Langerak is absolutely green with envy. "Stick it, Parker, Haruo won River's heart fair and square..." besides Haruo wasn't rich when River fell in love with him.

@Nikkei_Simmer thank you for the link. I have seen the Veyron, nearly put my own more modest vehicle in a ditch, once I realised what was coming in the opposite direction. One of my personal favourites is the Maserati Quattrosport. I don't know how well known it is outside Europe or if there is a cc version available.

Closest to the Quattrosport, I believe is Fresh Prince's Maserati Gran Turismo, I don't know if he's done the 4 door Quattrosport (edit: just checked he's only done the Ghibli; sorry.) Couldn't find any CC of the Quattrosport anywhere else either. Sorry. https://www.freshprincecreations.com/granturismots3
Even if "real Haruo" won the Lotto Max, @Featherbelle and RealHaruo would probably just buy their favorite cars.
RealHaruo - GMC Sierra Long Box Quad-Cab and maybe a 2002 Pontiac Firebird. I'm not enamored of the newer style of Chevrolet Camaro - Just doesn't stick with me. The quad-cab is basically because of my late Dad, who loved his GMC trucks. Funny as heck. He was a 5'3" tall Japanese man who talked in pidgin English and drove his old 1986 GMC pickup down the road. Made everyone double-take. Not many Asians drive pick-up trucks. So combine that with the stereotype and the fact that if most cars if they see a pickup truck on their tail end in the fast lane, people get the hell out of the way. @Featherbelle - 1967 Chevrolet Impala, 4 door no-post. black... *cough* Supernatural *cough*.

@Nikkei_Simmer I agree with @Featherbelle the supernatural looks goood I rather like the AC Cobra from the same period. Lets hope the CC maker reads the forum threads. Thank you for checking on the Masterati. Hubby would probably agree on the truck but he is firmly attached to his SUV at the moment.
The good thing about TS3 is the range of transport and the fact we still have CC makers happy to give us even more cars for our sims.

I forgot about that site. I need to download some of these cars. They're amazing.
It's been a while since I last played Sims 3, but at the moment I'm looking for the right world (PC issues with the larger EA worlds). But here are a few of my favorite snapshots from the past, of things that I love about Sims 3.
Unlike TS4 evil sims, TS3 really knows how to show it.
There is no boohooing in sad times for an evil sim.
Unlike TS4 babies, TS3 babies you can take them EVERYWHERE.
Martial Arts
Surfing, or just getting into the water in general.

I have seen this link and page before but never had time to download some of the AMAZING cars. I just grabbed a few I can't WAIT to see.
Question: can these cars be recolored in CAS?

@Rhiannon58, Most of them can be in CAS. I recolored the Lamborghinis AND the Chiron, because I didn't like the original colors.
