I posted two chapters for my new story, Gallows Rock. It's dark and has explicit content, though. It relies mostly on text, but has a couple of screenshots. I just can't be bothered with setting up scenes most of the time.

See, I’ve learnt a lot from my Pancakes and I’d love to start a new story with a longer lifespan, better attention to screenshots, more realistic play like brushing teeth, drinking water, consideration of travel. I mean, there’s a heap of things I want to improve and think I can do better now.
My writing might be better too.
I don’t think I’ve got too many readers to let down {that’s not why I do this anyway} and I don’t see where the Pancakes would ever end.

lol - I feel like a lot of us have done this. It's part of our attention span and perfectionism. I have like 4 stories myself. I have started these stories knowing I believe deep, deep down that I'll finish the previous stories. Have I? No. Well, technically one is complete, but I didn't intend to end it where it ended. It just sort of seemed like a good place to stop once I reached it. I still think I will finish those stories, but I'm not surprised if no one else feels I will. Time is little once a family, a job, and children come into play.
I've thought many times I should end what I have going or even go back and re-write things because I disliked it. However, I firmly have decided against that. These stories show my growth over time and my personality as I grow. So, though I'd like to start over some of them, I won't. A new project is a different story. lol
Honestly, it's up to you. I'd only caution you on not doing it too many times. As a reader myself, I dislike it when a writer begins a new project over and over again. (As I have done, which is why I'm not overly concerned I don't have tons of readers...lol) I worry they won't complete the project and my invested time to read their story will be for not.

You totally could start a new project !
You can have more than one project going at a time , or if you're the kind of person who likes a more single focus, you could actually wrap up Pancakes , bringing it to a final or temporary ending . So much has happened in the strory, and in a way, a funeral can feel like a place to stop.
Readers always have fun thinking about what happens after the end, so you wouldn't have to resolve absolutely everything !
