Ok so, once upon a time, I had a large household of young sims about to become adults, but couldn't find a nice female townie for the second oldest brother. So I made a family with a single father and two daugthers, Devin and Meghan and paired Devin off with the brother connor, and they become my main family. Fast forward about a decade or so in sim years and Devin, who is a painter, makes this painting that looks extremely similar to her, except with short hair. So in my story she painted a portrait of her mother that died when she was very young.
Here is a picture of her beside the portrait for comparison. (I'm new to posting pictures so fingers crossed this works.)

Gotta love when your sims backstory writes itself.

The painting does look just like your sim! Devin is very pretty! It was a special touch that you were able to include the painting in the background details of her life, that she painted a picture of her Mother who had sadly passed away when she was young

Wow, wish my Sim would paint something as awesome as that portrait! I may have to have her pin her only daughter down and see what she comes up with. I must be glowing torquoise I'm so inspired.

@GalacticGal I have had her paint her daughter as well. But the actual "paint from reference" paintings are tough to get right, and definatly don't look that good. Haha. It took me at least a solid half hour of play to catch the subject in a decent pose. Good luck though!
