Maxis match object and Build CC

I often find myself wishing that chair had a matching couch, or that bookshelf was just a slightly diffent height. Or I wish that window also came in a two-tile, or even 3 tile version. I know there are plenty of creators that do Maxis match stuff, but I certainly don't know where to find it, or how to even begin?
Any suggestions?

When it comes to thing being slightly different heights, you could always try editing meshes from the games itself. There are loads of guides out there.
