Aliens loosing alien form

I just recently started playing with aliens in the sims 4. Everything is fine until I try to alter disguise, use CAS, or exit out of the game and come back in. All my aliens have random disguises and won't turn back into there original alien form. Some even lose their alien powers. All NPC aliens portraits are blank with a red X for a picture. Is anyone else having this problem?

Is this with or without Mods and CC? (I've also not seen this behaviour described before.)

It started with mods so I removed all the mods and it is still happening.

Do this next to see if it helps:

1. Move (not copy) Saves, Tray, Screenshots, and Custom Music folders and the Options.ini file to your desktop. Delete the Scratch subfolder from inside Saves.
2. Delete the rest of the The Sims 4 folder from your Documents > Electronic Arts folder.
3. Start the game, and exit the game. Now you have a fresh Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 folder.
4. Copy all the folders and the file back and start the game again.

Now the disguise will stay but I still don't have the original alien form and the red X is still there.

Hello.
Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.

If you still have issues, start a new game file and test to see if the issues with the aliens are still there or if the glitch is just in this current file.

I uninstalled and reinstalled then repaired the game. Start with a new vanilla game and I'm still having issues with all my aliens. I have not run into the problem with the red X showing up yet though.

I am sorry that you are continuing to have issues with your aliens. Move your mods folder to the desktop, and try testing your game again to see if that helps. I am glad that the red x issue has been fixed.

I'm having a similar problem. I'm using the traits.equip_trait trait_OccultAlien cheat, but it's only resulting in duplicating my human form. I get the icon around my Sims diamond, but no alien form.

Some cheats were removed in a recent patch. Becoming an alien may perhaps have been one of them.
