Hobbies

JestTruJestTru Posts: 1,761 Member
I'm sure this has been posted but I would love to see some hobbies in the game.

And I miss these:
Pottery, Sewing, Jewelry making
Ballet
Hiking, bird watching
Restoring an old car
Playing sports like football, baseball, soccer, and volleyball

These are things that have been in previous games and I wouldn't mind seeing some new interactions to go with them. It would be nice to have more after school activities with these in mind.

What kind of hobbies would you like to see?

Sword fighting (we have armour, we need swords)
    Archery
    Cosplay

Then we could create our own medieval/renfairs.

    Soccer IS football.
    Rugby is football.
    Aussie rules is football.
Which one did you mean? :p

As for sports, they really need to include the three most popular ball sports: Football (soccer), Cricket, and tennis.

Ballet would be ok, but ballroom would be better, and include classic ballroom, along with modern. Also throw in jive, lindy hop, charleston, and other swing dance styles.

Ballet and pottery! Definitely my two top choices.
However for some others, knitting, embroidery, tennis, horseback riding... so many wonderful things they could be adding. :p

    Really good ideas.

    >Movotti< Love the sword fighting. It would be cool if they could do a renaissance fair with that and jousting and the horse back riding. People could dress up in medieval attire. I loved the archery from TS3. The Duke of Bows Renaissance Faire was one of my favorite lots. And I love rugby.

    >AgentJulia< I had forgot about tennis that would be cool.

    >fewlines< I miss those hobby magazines and the mp3 player. Wish they would bring back arcade type stuff and the comic book store and gambling.

    yesssss

i'd personally love sewing to be a thing
it would allow your sims to make their own clothes (they could be unlockables for the household?), and they could also sew furniture, like curtains, blankets, pillows, plush toys, etc.
    like?? yes please

it could also tie into cosplay if that was a thing as well

Well. There are many things that might fit in rather well as a skill/hobby.
    Here is a list.

    1.) Knitting

    2.) Candle Making

    3.) Nectar Making

    4.) Alchemy

    5.) Spell Casting

    6.) Drumming

    7.) Saxophone/Brass Instruments

    8.) Clarinet/Woodwind Instruments

    9.) Acting

    10.) Robotics

    Hope you like these skills.
Plus, I like your ideas on skills. I would like to see Pottery/Sculpting and Jewelry Making be implemented.

I agree. I want more hobbies, especially ones that involve crafting items to use in game.

I love the idea of Alchemy and Spell Casting! I think that would be so much fun. Especially if you could cast spells on other sims to change their appearance like turning them into a frog. I think it would be cool if they could create voodoo and mystical items as a retail shop idea too.

I do agree with other posts about having more hobbies that can create unlock able items for the house - that would be another element that the Sims could create and sell at a retail store.
